    A video suggestion is maybe talk about how you take the money back to the bank for your bills and how to plan when they are due and how many envelopes you deposit at once. If that makes sense!

    I find this so fascinating , this is like the “what’s in my purse” videos but instead it’s “what’s in my wallet videos”. Even if we have never met you we still can easily relate to this because we ALL have a need to budget and pay bills.❤️keep up the great work .

    So I stumbled across your videos like in the middle of July and I thought this was a great idea. Literally spent 6hrs watching your videos and doing research on the Dave Ramsey budget. I made my budget and said I would start the beginning of August since that was my next paycheck. So here we are with August almost done and me finished with baby step 1.
    Then I got into a fender bender with it being my fault. (Everyone is okay, cars just have dents in bumpers). I got a ticket and will probably have to pay to get the cars fixed but I’m not worried because I have my emergency fund set up.
    So point is thank you for making videos cause now my life is falling into place financially.

      @FirstLast-po8oz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's easier if you start the envelope system halfway through your first month otherwise you have to have a months worth of expenses already saved up (if your bills are due with your first paycheck like mine)

    • @FirstLast-po8oz
      @FirstLast-po8oz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, not trying to be rude, that was just the first problem i ran into when i started

    • @grr1127
      @grr1127 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      First Last It’s okay you weren’t being rude but it worked out for me because my bills are due toward the middle of the month. I was usually able to pay most bills with the first paycheck and then I would be super irresponsible with the other or both of them.

    I’ve been watching your videos since July and i’m so grateful that your videos showed up. Ever since I started the envelope system i haven’t been worried about over spending and i have been less stressed knowing and being more aware of my finances. I find myself looking forward to pay days even more so i can organize my money in this cute fun way. I also like how this change has gotten me more motivated about saving and the good this is that i have money now set aside for the important things like getting repairs on my car when i need to. i highly would recommend to anyone! Also, when do you think you’ll have more envelopes available on your etsy account?

    Idk why splitting my costs doesn’t work for me. I take out the full amounts per paycheck if that makes sense. So I budget $2600/ mo one check is $900 for rent (including utilities) and $400 for car payment. The other check is $200 spending money for the month $320 for gas and food for the month $120 for phone and $165 for car insurance. Whatever is left over I put toward my car payment which is about $500. That makes me want to barf knowing I’m paying $900 on my car but it’s sweet knowing I’ll be done in less than 2 years (instead of 60 months) then it can go to savings

    Do you get your cash from inside the bank from the teller? I low key feel like it bothers them to do such a elaborate breakdown of bills. Like I feel like when they see me enter the bank they sigh like they already know I'm gonna make them break down the bills. I no longer go inside to the teller because I don't like the feeling they give me. I'm very fortunate that my bank has an ATM machine that allows me the choice to customize my bills when I do my withdrawal myself. All I do is write down the break down and take it with me to the drive up ATM and do it myself with no stress from stupid tellers😊. What do you? The tellers or the ATM? 🤔

    • @Legitlashes
      @Legitlashes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ladydipset88 I used to be a bank teller and it never bothered me when people needed smaller bills ! When people needed over 1000$ in smaller bills (5/10s) we would ask them to place an order beforehand 😝 don’t feel bad at all

    • @saraashkir5793
      @saraashkir5793 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, my bank has no breakdowns of all bills in the ATM (the drive thru ones only have 20s and the ones inside have 20s, 5s, and 1s). For me, I only work 10 hours a week cuz Im a student so I don't get a huge paycheck and I don't have any bills to pay since I live with my parents, so I don't have anything to take out in 50s or 100s. My workplace also gives us physical checks rather than direct deposits. What I do is I go into the bank to use the inside ATM, I deposit my check, then take out the amount of money that needs 20s, 5s, and 1s, then I make a withdrawal with the teller for any 10s I need. It's a bit complicated but that's what works for me, and it doesn't take that long.

    • @alysonfaith
      @alysonfaith 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just know that it is the tellers job! It’s like getting a waitress to take your specific order. :) They break down change and complete change orders all day long!

    • @ladydipset88
      @ladydipset88 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alysonfaith true...i do go inside sometimes (like if the ATM runs out of specific bills). I feel most times i dont have to go inside because my bank ATM customizes the bills for you from 100s, 20s, 5s, and 1s. It saves me a lot of time than having to go inside except if the machine runs out lol.

      I found all of my paper at Hobby Lobby, and I just go with what looks the cutest! I don't care too much about what brand it is.

    You've so inspired me to start doing this myself. I just ordered some cute envelopes from Amazon!! I have to ask, though, what is a debt snowball?

      It's a "Dave Ramsey" type term used to describe paying off your debt in a certain fashion. You start with the smallest debt and work your way to the largest

    Question:
    Curiosity has me like, How do y’all pay for the bills after stuffing the envelopes? Y’all make money orders per bill or Walk-in & pay in store?

      salty & sweet I deposit the money saved in the bank and pay them all online.

      She ends up depositing the cash envelopes back into the bank around the time that it’s due. She uses the envelope system so she doesn’t see money in her bank account because if she does she’s more likely to swipe her card rather than stick to her budget.

      salty & sweet I was wondering the same for things like car insurance and utilities if you can't pay in cash and Spotify like does she put it back in the account?

    I got that wallet and had to take it back. It wouldn’t close when I put all my cards in it so I ended up getting a Steve Madden that zips close with the cards in the zipper part. But now I have to make new cash envelopes because they are just a tiny bit too big.

    • @alyssamakesamigurumi
      @alyssamakesamigurumi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no! What a bummer. That's definitely a downside of that wallet, there's not a ton of space for cards. Steve Madden make great ones too, I was sooo tempted to buy one I saw at TJ Maxx the other day! I hope it works out great for you.

    I’m using the extra paycheck to get on track to be able to save half of the 2 paychecks for rent and car payment For the first of the month. Even though I had to pay full amount of rent this month. I’m able to save half and half now with this extra check.
