4 years later, where are we at with this stuff? A Dr. Jeffery Hillman re-engineered S.Mutans in the mid 90s to excrete a weak antibiotic instead of acid and I've been waiting for this sort of treatment ever since yet we STILL aren't even close because for some reason the research and testing just isn't being done. Dr. Hillman went on to create Oragenics for the purpose developing his treatment but they had to give up doing the human trials because they kept hitting roadblocks from the FDA or whoever oversees testing. Why they never bothered to go do their tests and stuff outside of the USA boggles my mind. We NEED this treatment yet I can almost guarantee Money issues of several kinds are interfering.

So all the carbs are not the same? I thought decay inducing bacteria eats any carb and turn it to acid

Not all carbohydrates are cariogenic. It depends on the ability of the bacteria to ferment it or whether or not the proper enzyme to digest it is present. Usually simple sugars (monosaccharides or disaccharides) are cariogenic but some complex carbs aren't because the bacteria can't digest it and there is no enzyme to break it down in the oral cavity.
      Hope this helps ^^

Music for Hours what jalidi said is correct. Whenever you eat some high carb stuff like pasta just make sure you dont let any between your teeth since saliva will break it down into simple sugar making the bacterias able to consume it
