It’s the same with some immigrants when they come to western countries, there for DECADES and cant speak a word of English.
Personally, I think people staying in another country long term they should try to learn a little bit of that country’s language.

As a UP DIliman student, I just have to watch this when it appeared on my home feed, hahaha! What's funny about what you said at 11:18 about "What if they were famous players in the Philippines?" is kinda true. The guy wearing the black shirt who was sitting at the other table with his black bag and blue juice box is Anton Eusebio, and he was part of the UP Fighting Maroons Men's Basketball team that won the UAAP Season 84 Men's Basketball championship last May 13, 2022. It was a historic win for UP after 36 long years. UAAP by the way is one of the top university/collegiate level basketball leagues in the Philippines. Meanwhile, the curly-haired guy wearing the black vest with "strong" written on it, I think is Francis 'LeBron' Lopez, a new recruit to our UP basketball team. He was part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that played against Indonesia for the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers. He is also a champion for his previous school team, the Ateneo Blue Eagles Men's Basketball team.
Anyway, that's the info I can contribute here. Hope you had fun in our campus!

Nice to see you in UP 😃 Usually universities in the Phil have known specializations..so UP is more known for Law, Math. I remember one of my late aunts had her Doctorate in Physics at UP. But there are other courses as you have seen. Before, one has to pass National College Entrance Exam then have to pass individual admission test of each University. But it has changed through the years, so it was a surprise to me hearing in your video due to the pandemic there was no admission test. Guess just have to adjust as situation calls for it.
The student you met whom you were borrowing a bike, she got embarrassed because she uttered an expletive in tagalog unintentionally and was asking you to edit it out later. 🙂
For Math and Engineering courses, it is Mapua Institute of Technology,
UST for Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy. University of the East for Commerce courses and so on.
Another noted university for Law courses is Ateneo de Manila.
Dela Salle University is a private university that offers various disciplines too.
Typically most of the concentration of universities is in Manila itself. UST (University of Santo Tomas) being the oldest existing university in Asia, founded in 1611, is in Espana, Manila, just a tad away from the main university belt area. My mom and other elders, as well as me and some of my silbings have UST as our alma mater.
Would love to see you explore more universities around Manila.
Btw, this 2023, Holy Week commences April 2, so plan you trips, as many people start travelling ahead during this week to take advantage of the long weekend. Many stores may close or have shortened hours starting Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday.
    Have a nice day!

Seungha, if you'd like to have an idea of what the UP College Admissions Tests (UPCAT) are like, you can check out the UPCAT reviewers at bookstores or at libraries. There are also other reviewers for the other universities' entrance exams like the ACET (Ateneo), DLSUCET (De La Salle) and USTET (University of Sto. Tomas). The UPCAT is scored on a "right minus wrong" basis, but I don't think it's the same for the other universities. We do not have a counterpart of the suneung here in the Philippines, so each university has its own entrance exams. I hope you'll be able to teach more Filipino students! :-)

    • @kilometer6712
      @kilometer6712 ปีที่แล้ว

UPCAT "right minus wrong" tests policy is ill mind and crazy standard by deranged university policy makers. 😂 How can you make it a wrong answer for an already right answer when two test questions are irrelevant to each other. The sad part is if you give them something, they will call their other friends and they will also ask the same. Better to avoid them.
Since UP is big and open to the public those wandering kids can easily come and go around the university.
Please come back to UP and try it early morning (before 8am) because the academic oval is open for running, walking and biking. You can also see a lot of people (outsiders) during weekends and holidays as it is open for everyone.

It's nice to see you in UP Diliman. That campus you have visited is only of many campuses the UP System has. I graduated in UP, too, but our campus is in Los Baños, Laguna, a big campus at the foot of the mountain, Mt. Makiling. That you should visit, too, we have Botanical Garden there, and it is famous for Carabao's milk. Our campus is an Agricultural Campus, but also known for topnotch Engineering and Biological science courses, and it is also open to all. You can tour around.
It is 2-3hrs away from Metro Manila.
