Okay but the fact that they are so approachable and really trying to speak to him really says a lot about them.
Those are just the people who agreed to be recorded and posted on the internet. I'm sure there were dozens more people they asked. Of course people will try to help, but this small batch of students don't represent all of Korea. I've had Koreans straight up ignore me or tell me they can't help me and just keep walking while I was lost in Korea.
No trust me they can also be racist but they are pretty nice
@@amartinez5326 fr, when i went to Korea myself last year as a foreigner, i asked some directions because i was confused and lost, absolutely nobody helped me, thank god there was a kind black dude who helped me with my stuff.
Yeah. Im a half Korean and when I came back to Korea I don't speak Korean. So when I was lost most of the people there cant even help me. I mean I think they want to help but they just cant speak english pretty well

the guy learning french literally spoke with a perfect french accent i was shocked !!!! for having grown up with an east asian language it is really difficult to nail pronunciation for french. heck, it’s really hard for english speakers, too, and it’s much closer to french than korean is!

I find it amusing how a lot of western language native speakers are surprised at how Asian learners nail the pronunciation or accent of their language. Honestly French phonetics make more sense than English phonetics lol

It's not easy to speak in a foreign language. It's especially harder to speak when put on the spot. Trying to remember an entirely different language, as well as putting that language into socializing with a stranger is definitely a task in itself. Major props to these people. Respect for also actually trying to help the two gentlemen.

I was lost in Busan and while crossing the street I asked a girl, in my very broken korean and then tried English, if she could tell me how to get to my destination. She didnt speak but started looking for things on her phone and kindly showed me how to get there. I managed to get back safe because of her. All this to say, the Korean people I met were so helpful and kind, even if they are not comfortable speaking they find ways to help. So 감사합니다 Busan girl, I still remember that kindness.

I studied nursing too.
It's hard. In my city, the nursing program is #1 why people chose to study here. It's through our community college because they give lots of financial aid.
I'm not in the program, but a lot of people I know are and it's ridiculously competitive.
Some choose to study nursing no matter what, because it's their passions . I don't know about the other, may be they also have their reasons.

As a taiwanese, I see this video from another perspective. Just by seeing how many people in the video are so willing to help and trying to solve others' problem, it doesn't bother if they are not fluent in English. People's sincerity makes communication comfortable! Love that people are so cute and nice that they are willing to spend time walking strangers to their destination!

as someone who speaks multiple languages it happens subconciously a lot. especially when i dont expect someone to speak a certain language (like if a white person spoke an asian language to me) sometimes i get so surprised it like locks me into one language
