I'm in urban and on here researching this breed whilst seriously concidering a panda type just seen in the video,
my puppy I set sights on
is just the sweetest looking puppy!
but now I seen this the importation of the pup I had in mind is out of the window😥
As much as i did not want to hear what i heard
it makes sense to me not to have this magnificent breed of dog!
Statement he made right there is when they mature they become dominant they are a dominant breed of dog,
Being I have a small back yard i enjoy the local parks but so do all the other locals with smaller dominant dogs thats bark is worse than their bite, so in reality, Sadly will be that I can't take her to the local parks,
Its inevitable i should have known better as I have knowledge in dogs but this expert honest guy in the video just confirmed its really not suitable,
I can't change this dog to become an urbanated species of dog, instead I must change me to become a farmer to suit this breeds needs 👌
( the vision of my neighbour passing my small yard with their little yappy Yorkshire terrier,
my now matured panda C.A.S.D doing her job,
may just not be happy with that situation maybe a bad day i havent excercised her today as its crappy weather dogs in the yard my fence may not be suitable 🤯 - do I need the possible disastrous outcome in my life? )
      Well No I think Not.
      Credit to this vid 👌

I like this guy. He has strong morals. Puts his dogs wellfare before profit. Does not breed oversized dogs just because people like getting supersized dogs to back up their own insecurities and lack of self esteem. We could do with alot more responsible breeders like him.

I owned a Central Asian. I loved this dog but keeping the rest of the neighborhood safe from him was a challenge. Although we tried to socialize him from the start, after he was six months he would not tolerate other dogs or people outside of the family. We always felt secure at home and were always made aware by him of anyone coming past our house. Our young daughter named him Bullet which reminded us that we needed to be cautious of his power when it came to the general public. It was a great experience having our big boy, but if you want a dog like this, you will need to be strong willed and you will need to show who is boss.

Keeping the neighbourhood safe in what way? :) I have an alabai, and we're having trouble keeping the neighbours safe from being licked to death! :D But she's done a ton of training over the years (she's 2,5 y.o. at the moment) and she still does her training weekly. When we got her as a baby she was an uncontrollable hurricane, very cute, but a hurricane indeed. Extremely smart and curious. Now she's still as smart and curious, but she's also very calm and easy to control. Loves crowds of people and children because she thinks that it's always a party for her. Alabai is an amazing breed, but indeed need to be looked after, as they are a shepherd dog and have a lot of strong instincts. Not an easy type of house puppy, but a great companion. :)

Most loyal easy going dog you could ever ask for, but at the same time once she/he feels one is a threat, the alabai will turn into a complete monster. Not for everyone, but they shall have my respect forever!!

I have a female about 11 months old she looks just like Panda but with longer hair. She lives with two male xl bullies.they are all rescues. I believe her parents were Russian. She is very different from the bullies, much more will full and independent. All three dogs play fight constantly without problems, however they will all fight for real instantly over food.
I wouldnt recommend them to anyone without a lot of experience with big dogs. Im 66 years old and walk all three and i live in the city, its not easy. Also their food bill is over 250 pounds a month.
I rescue these dogs from people who failed to understand the time and commitment that these dogs require and subsequently abandon them.
Thank you for your videos about these incredible dogs, much respect.

My brother and I adopted an Alabai from the pound. We were told he was an Aussie mix cause of his size and coat.
He was the best dog I’ve ever had. Such a cuddle bug, and loved everyone he met. Very good at being a watch dog but also loved so much. Had an amazing personality. He passed this month due to cancer at only 2 years old. But he was a special dog and I’d recommend them to everyone.

Outstanding video. We have had centrals for the past 20 plus years and his comments are spot on. We have had ours in the suburbs and on the farm. You can literally see a major difference between how they act in a neighborhood and how they act on the farm. In the country they are more relaxed and more attuned to nature, ready to do their job at all times. We have 3/4 acre at our suburban home and the constant foot traffic from people and other dogs tends to keep them more on constant alert to potential threats. Great dogs with the family, especially kids, other dogs and stock. In my opinion, the best dogs in the world.

breeding for drive needs to stop now-for nearly all dogs. The dog is bred to shepherd and work HARD-all day. Bc it is cute, or has a look, people buy puppies and expect the dog to be a couch potato, like them. Then when it goes dreadfully wrong-the dog pays. I rescue GSD's-these amazing dogs are puppy milled now-puppy milled. I can't stand it. I get calls all of the time. I can't take them, no one can. It is insane-and needs to stop. Don't even get me started on how cruel AKC is-just money to that group-cruel as dog fighting, what AKC does. But bc it's stylish, AKC gets a pass-rubbish.

    Very good video!
I have one of these dogs.
I've had her a little over 2 years now. Someone left her on a chain an they walked away from their house. Sad. I didn't know she'd been thru obedience school. After having her for 2 years she finally accepted me an idea helped her get over some issues she showed me her obedience skills. An she now loves me. I live in 10 acres an she likes to travel. I don't have a farm but she seems to like farm animals. I take her to a farm a few times a week.
I'm hoping to get chickens soon. I'm 60 and can handle her power fine but I've had big dogs all my life..not a newbie.
Love this breed! Someone before me had made her into a pet. I call her my lovey cuz she's so loving to me. And yes...she thinks she all that. Great with other dogs unless they wanna fight.
I would like to find another but...we'll see.
    Thanks for the wonderful info!

He has the most knowledge of anybody I have seen on these documentaries. I have a working spanish mastiff female. She is a natural dog. Not the big wrinkly, slow dogs you see in the shows. Tall, massive, and fast. These landrace dogs are not watered down akc breeds. They act differently, are very hardy. Due to hundreds of years of hard work and lack of pampering. I have a large great pyrenees Casper. He is a great dog, but he is missing that natural aspect that he describes in this video. I also respect that he breeds to type. If you have seen any videos of Shepard's ( spain, turkey). There is no fences. I dog must move with endurance and purpose all the time. These large 100kg spanish mastiffs, or alabi's wouldn't make it. The shepherds from all countries know dogs, hundreds of years of working close to the land and dealing with predators, not the akc. If you have a farm or animals get yourself a landrace breed from a working line. Spanish, Turkish, Baltic. Ect. All great dogs. But, if you want a pet.. get a great pyrenees.

I'm from France, where the great pyrennese originate from. It's funny to us that Americans think that they make good pets because here it's the opposite. They're still mostly used as livestock guardian dogs and everyone is cautioned against owning them for anything but work.

awesome video! I'm keeping this guy's info because i'm interested in getting one. But like he said, you need the right environment for them. We looking at getting some land in the future so this might just work. I'm not too concerned about having strong willed dogs because I have a Ridgeback and he is definitely strong-willed, large, powerful and intelligent.

I have had 3 Rhodesian ridgebacks my first two passed away and I still have my 3rd she’s 4 yrs old and I’m getting my cas this year. Have a little more than an acre of land and will ask the farm behind me if I can use some of their unused wooded land behind my home for more space to get some goats and chickens

It's about time a breeder with "brains" tell Americans looking for size to go somewhere else! He breeds the dogs for there heritage. There not lap dogs or fighting dogs! They are guard dogs bred to do exactly that! They will fight to protect the owners property. Many Americans will get a donkey instead because of no need to feed/water separately from the stock. Those wanting just size & strength don't need man's best friend, just a big pocket to carry there egos.

+ dogumentary tv hey man, love the videos and the information they provide. If I could make one request/comment, I think it would be great if you were able to get the opinion of more than one breeder for each breed. I'm sure it would be really tough to do, especially with rare breeds like this video, but i think it would add another dimension to your work. Regardless, thanks for the great videos!

I wish you could do a video of my friends puppy still.
He will turn a year the 11th of Oct. Last Sunday he's Father in law, his blood pressure was very low and his body collapsed, the puppy started Barkin and barking on his body and trying to move him. until his wife notice the puppy was Barkin very strange, she decided to hold and check out, she found the scene.
They call 911 and took the man to the hospital, when the man came back home, he hug the dog and said, you save my life !!!
The wife of my friend since the bugging told my friend. She don't want any dog in her home. My friend lives in California and he flew to Chicago to pick up the puppy that's where I live.
    Olde English Bulldog.
    thank you

This is something ranchers in, British Columbia, Alberta, Wyoming and Colorado should be looking into. Up until now their only strategy to deal with wolves was to kill them all but the experiment in Yellowstone has shown how a healthy and active wolf population not only keeps the deer population healthy but the environment as well. With a teams of Alabais protecting the herds the cattle and wolves could live side by side without wiping out whole populations of wolves.

I grew up with the central Asian shepherds in Tajikistan, every neighborhood had one champ that was famous, they super intelligent dogs, very calm. As kids we always played around them with them I never heard that they attacked someone, others dogs? Yes, dog fights were common
Now I live in U.S, I’m gonna live in house with land, and I’m gonna buy one of our dogs, so, my son could grow up with an Alabai and learn how big and powerful can be calm and intelligent, kids learn from their pets too.

I know plenty of Alabai and Volkodov owners that have had dogs that have taken down wolves. volkodov as its referred to in regions of russia is a subtype of the central asian shepherd and loosely translates to "wolf crusher".

It is not possible for a single dog to kill a wolf. A wolf is naturally stronger and has sharper teeth, also they have doubled the bite force of a dog

    • @absolutemayham8562

    • @tylerrobbins8311
      @tylerrobbins8311 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@omarboye1090 Eurasian wolves are smaller than North American wolves and the Alabai dog is on average as large as the biggest North American wolf. Also 700psi is the bite strength for Alabai dogs, so yes they do bite very hard, definitely hard enough.
