You have to earn trust with this breed until they understand you are not a threat. But that comes with few people who are around them often. This dog is smart enough to do the scan and understand who is a threat and who isn''t also. Just a fascinating breed, I'm lucky to live next door to 2 of them who I have slowly befriended over 2 years. (with the supervision and help of their owner). Stay calm, don't get jacked up, control your heart rate and breathing and don't raise your voice or fling your arms in the air if you're around these type of dogs.
Great informative video Katerina! I know you continue to repeat yourself, but it is absolutely necessary that people understand the liability that can be expected as part of owning this wonderful breed🤠
I am the person in the video and I absolutely love all her dogs. It amazes me how people think they can get a guard dog that wants it to protect against intruders but someone comes visit them that they might see once a year they think they're gonna be friendly to them.
I have a Caucasian Shepard mix and I bring him to training after his month boot camp. And yes o have grey hair with him. I got professional E colour training almost 3000dollars later for this and boot camp. 400 $ a month on raw . No sleeping in. I have to walk my big guy at 530 am in the morning so not a lot off other dogs are around. Plus I put E colour on him . He is a great walker 99 procent off the time but the 1 procent he sees something he doesn’t like oh😮. You have to be on guard all the time. I love you guys put the warning in your video. Yes it’s a huge commitment be on guard all the time. I love ❤️ being committed but this dog is not for a lot off people
I did research yes you right. Central Asian shepherd poor breed they don’t respond to that . My is Caucasian half Bernese so it’s a little different he responds very well. I really don’t use it . Just as backup . That’s why I prefer the early morning before sunrise so my area is pretty quiet and we have a great walk. Thank you for your response and I really appreciate your effort to make people aware off the responsibility owning a beautiful breed like that❤️
Yes, Her Guyla, Nadya all really like me. I can pet Alsu & Aya now. We have not tried Safar yet. Interesting is Guyla & Nadya are protective of me with strangers. Especially Nadya.
Very informative, I wish to have a alabai to protect the house, but as you said, people that live alone are not a good match for it, because who would feed, and care for it in case of need. Seems like will be just a dream. I will look for other breeds.
So the question remains, if you want a dog that will be somewhat protective but in general like the dog in the vid, is it possible obtain one from a bloodline that is gentle like she is? Since you are concerned about the breed standard, and the dog in the vid is so gentle, would you breed her at all? What do you think the chance of her producing gentle puppies? Or is she herself, just a fluke?
We do not customize the breed. We re not looking for two sweet gentle dogs who has zero guard traits and breed them together. But I know other breeders does it.
@@CentralasianshepherdAlabaiUSA That would be good if one is interested in the dog for reasons there than innate aggression. That said, it think 1000s of years of evolution will not be changed over night. I would be concerned enough to never trust even the dog in the vid because who knows for sure what will trigger all those years of evolution of this breed. I think they look great but this vid was needed in order to make the point that this breed is NOT for everyone. It's not like you can stop kids (or adults) from coming over unexpected and what happens if you are in an accident; who is going to care for this dog (I suppose arrangements can be made). Huge responsibility!
@@Lagolop few weeks ago sweet black Labrador mauled face of 2 y old boy in day care in Wisconsin. Every animal, even a steer ,stallion, rooster should be treated as animal.
@@Lagolop I'm not selling our pups ppl who want to change them.ppl who re our clients are looking for dogs for protection. I have a screening process. And ask lot of questions. Who need a farm guard dog who let strangers in? Our neighbors down the road have great Pyrenees and goats sheep, dogs are never around, always wandering n timid of ppl.i can stop by,and pick up as many lambs as I need
My puppy looks just like that black and white one and it was $5,000 overseas, and all said and done closer to 10. . I don't think cheap would be a word I would use
