Thanks for showing this and explaining it in the other 2 vids. Like you said only you Dangar had info on this. My 90 Yami is giving me a hard time starting. Going to check the o ring and solenoid out today 👍🏽
I have two 40hp Yamaha 2 strokes. One with prime start and electric starter. The pther is all manual pull-cord start and manual chocke. They both starts at high idle an depending on temperature falls down to low idle after a moment. It telle me that it can't be the prime start mechanism that does this, because one of the engine doesnt have prime start carb. It must be the electronic ignition module or something. The black box on the starboard side of engine who does this.
I bought a 40hp two stroke I believe that it's all good. Carbs were rebuilt a year ago. It doesn't start as easily as I would think. I crank on it about half a dozen times or more in intervals. Once warm it starts good. I don't understand this unit. It has key push down and button in the middle of throttle/ gear selector. I don't understood what it all does. Never owned one like this. They told me to push and hold button on gear selector while turning key. I primed it. It just doesn't start very easily. Battery drops a bit by the time it starts. Any suggestions?. 165 G3 Yamaha. 2004.
Hi come across your channel, the prime starter I currently have on a 50hp yamaha seems to get very hot, does that mean it' failed,... as it's flooded out the carburettors, ..

Thanks and good luck. There not too bad to work on. They just drive you nuts if you don't know what is going on.

Thankyou! I don’t believe mine is working. I had to hit that red lever to get it fired and it was 80 degrees out. Ill take a peak at it

If it's flooding out ? You have a problem.. I have a few videos on the channel covering the prime start
What happens when this fails. Will it flood your motor?
yes !!! It will !! You will kill every plug you put in it .
My engine only runs with prime start in on position
Won’t run worth a shit in closed or normal position
You are burning up the motor
