Was it seized? Because if not it definetly did not need a full teardown. If you are doing a full rebuild like this, replace the impeller and gaskets, it is supposed to be done once a year.

You have put a lot of work into renovating this Yamaha two-stroke outboard. An interesting technical solution from the Producer: the ignition advance is assigned to the throttle angle, not the centrifugal force!

I have one just like this engine and from the sea trail engine doesn’t run at top speed something is still wrong probably a foul plug. But if you can send me the link to get the overhaul kit that would be awesome.
