It's ace and they're ace! Although if you start at a different time you can't place which is totally fair enough. If you want to win you have to do the proper start time. Suits me perfectly ☺️
Walked up to Scar House reservoir on New Year's Day in 2023 and then came back and did that run as a walk the day after, was stunning and saw loads of red kites too!
Ahh the Grim Up North cake table… a thing of beauty all the running world should know about. Really must do one of their events again soon! All the very best with the rest of your week!
Thank you for not focusing on me eating the bacon sandwich, I was a complete mess by then. And the next few hours trying to get my body temperature settled!
@@NicolaRuns i sure will may ne next year if i can do Trimpell 20 in September i will be super happy as its flat think i got 2h32 in 2008 when i last did it
Dental professionals of the world look away now - how I healed my tooth through brownies 😂 Top work Nicola, bonus points for the most mentions of the word bacon in this video 🥓
This is such a great challenge - good luck for the rest of the week too! Just wanted to ask a question - I noticed the case that you were holding (1:41 in) and wondered - are you using a DJI Osmo Pocket 2/3 to shoot your content with? How are you finding it? Does it feel robust enough to run with? Thanks in advance!! PS - love the content, keep it coming!
Thanks ☺️ Well you have amazing eyes!!! Yes it's the Osmo Pocket 2 and it's all I've ever used. I tried a GoPro but the digital image stabilisation wasn't comparable to having a physical gimbal IMO 🙃
@@NicolaRuns haha it's only because I've been researching them and struggled to find any decent videos reviewing how well they work when running! 😀 The gimbal is what is tempting me too, just wondered how it handled the movement when running - but judging by your videos, pretty well!! That's ace - thanks for the info, very useful. Good luck again for the remaining marathons!
@@RichardHarper83 thanks, yeah I definitely rate it for running. Obviously you have to hold your arm relatively still... So I'm not swinging my arm holding the DJI. But if you tilt locked the horizon it would be even smoother so I'd say it's a good bet. My only issue with it is that it's not waterproof...
@@NicolaRuns hope she has a good time i remember going away with school i think we went out to Morecombe one day when the pleasure beach was there and the waterlog was my fav ride
No idea how you do it Nicola! I know how sore I am after 26.2 and I can't imagine going again the next day. Usually I could shuffle through a 5k, but another 26.2? No way. That was beautiful scenery as well. Also, what brand of veggie bacon do they serve? We have Morning Star brand here in the states. It isn't going to fool anyone but it serves up a decent sandwich or breakfast side. Also there is no way I could climb that ladder area where the gate was the day after a marathon. Also, who built the rock walls... They look really old.
The scenery is stunning there! It's mind over matter when it comes to getting going the day after a marathon. Your body doesn't want to but after 5-10km then you loosen up. I'm not sure what the brand of bacon was I'm afraid, it was delicious though! But yeah... It wouldn't fool anyone either 🤣 I imagine the local farmers did the dry stone walling a long time ago! 😍
Why is it that no matter how much one runs or how much training, tempos, hills, supersets, yoga, nutrition, sleep... No matter how well one nails those... The first two miles of running is always awful... I have tried pre run workouts and they just prolong the agony.. 2 miles in and it's yayyyyy🎉🎉
I think this is so subjective though. I'd love mine to be 2 miles... I think mine is more like 5 🤣🤣🤣 then I'm like Ohhhhhh NOW this feels like running! 🤦🏻♀️😂
Quick question , do you have a fix for smelly trainers ? I bought a pair at the auction house last week and they reek , I've tried baking soda , vinegar , washing machine , freezing etc to no avail ???
I'm afraid not, I've never had this problem apart from with Poppy's trainers... But she out grows them before I ever get around to doing anything about it! 🤦🏻♀️😂
All in the name of social media....A Marathon is NOT something you make up yourself....and running from point A to point B means nothing...it can be a mine shaft...it can be done with a tail wind of 160km/hr....it can be short it can be long.....stop bluffing yourself....I TRAINED 220km/week when I was at the top of my game !!! Good luck !!!
A marathon is 26.2 miles 🤷🏻♀️ Trail marathons are usually a bit longer though. Not sure I've ever heard of a mine shaft marathon... Imagine! 😳🤣 The meaning of something is decided by the person doing it in my opinion. Life is too short to tell other people what something should or shouldn't mean but each to their own. Loving your effort to so strongly live by your handle on here 😜 Back to the positive though... 220km a week is awesome, what races were you doing? I do struggle with 220km weeks as a widowed parent with no family nearby but they'd be fine when my daughter is older. It's the school runs, the after school meetings, taking her to diving lessons, cooking all the meals, the washing, cleaning etc. possible as I've done it before but not a regular lifestyle choice I'd make personally as my daughter is too important to me and I don't think I can be the best mum I can be if I run that mileage 🤷🏻♀️🤗
I love these races and how amazing is the team of volunteers 😊 and I love the relaxed approach of starting when you would like
