My favourite bus company Volvo!!!.. eternally unforgettable journey experience that I had in the B11R from Bangalore to Udaipur (India). It was also my first long distance bus journey and among India’s longest interstate bus routes. This was in January 2020, and right from the word go it was a premium experience. Me and my friend, we still reminisce the journey experiences even to this day.
Be it the simple yet classy and practical interiors, or the infotainment system, or the charging points or the overall feel and comfort of the bus, mind blowing!!..
Perfect seats, welcome thigh support, large panoramic windows, and screens that block almost all traffic noise and sunlight and even unruly high beam light, for people like me who would love to travel in ultimate comfort, and luxury and style, Volvo is THE bus to be in!!..
Throughout that journey, not a single point, not a single thing that I can actually point out as a shortcoming that “needed to be addressed”... best road insulation, and something worth noting is the “roar” of the engine. It’s more like a constant companion, like our own heartbeat, or a life breath, or more precisely, lullaby. I personally love that roar, throaty and raw, and not at all intrusive. I slept listening to the lullaby of the engine. That’s how capable and powerful the engine, yet so soothing it is.
Be it the B7R, B9R, B11R, or even the upcoming 9700DD, Volvo creates thrilling experiences and these are something always to be cherished in our memories. The bulk of these buses aren’t evident at all, once on the move, and these buses aren’t just transportation systems, they move our souls to a different level of pleasure, joy, exhilaration, and satisfaction. Satisfaction that nothing untoward can happen with these buses. Thanks for these wonderful experiences Volvo, u will always have a special place in my heart and in everyone’s heart!!..
PS: excellent that this 9700DD runs on biodiesel!.. environment protection of the order of the day, and anything in the regard is well appreciated by me... brownie points for u on this too!!..

I literally grew up within 5 minutes where the footage of this bus was taken. In the middle of nowhere, northen Öland in the south of Sweden. Seems like a nice bus though!

would be cool to see something like this over here in North America... I wish we had more double deckers here. While my area does have some, most places here don't and it seems like there's only one model available right now- the ADL Enviro500. If there are other double decker models available in North America, I haven't seen them.
One of the most scaries thing for me in double decker is the upper deck crashing into something in case the driver is not alert 😫👹

is it possible to replace the standard front windscreen & the large side glass windows in the VOLVO 9700 DD with 6.0 in. thick transparent armour (armoured glass)??? the armoured glass has to provide B6 level ballistic protection against small arms fire & armour piercing rounds!!! please note this is a serious enquiry for a, fleet of specially built protected 9800 & B11 R coaches from VOLVO!!! request quote & advise!!!
