    Just wanted to comment on here to let you guys know that this will work for future terrain materials as well, such as Farm Soil and Limestone, at the time I made this video I hadn't gotten to those, but I have tested those since posting this and they also work

    omg sir you are a legend ! no more walking around the ground trying to get high amounts of dirt for smelters for me! you have no idea how much time this saved me!

    Broo!! This is gonna save me so much time lmao, I was trying to farm dirt to terraform an entire hill. Thank you!!

    You can do this with fertilized soil, farm soil, sandstone, limestone, sand, and even those glowing rocks too.

    Omg thank you. Just turned 15 stone into 99 stupid fast. I think the only drawback is that you don’t get mining exp from this, which is well worth the sacrifice imo.

      Glad it helped you. I actually didn't even realize you got mining exp. I only ever legit mined once so far at the bandit camp with the mine shaft and I dont remember getting exp from it

      The higher the hit rate for the ore the higher the exp for mining. Obsidian currently takes 13 hits per 1 ore to mine but gives insane exp gains,super fast to level up, Lapis and then iron,tin,copper and clay. Stones vary depending on biome. Sand is same as clay, sandstone similar to limestone. Sulphur is on bar with stone and mycelium. Shroud wood is similar to hardwood. Green mushrooms/wood/salt.

    Place three together end to end and use the rake at the steepest angle to make a column of the material higher than you can reach with your furthest swing of the pick axe. I climb on top and work my way down and leave a little for the rake to push up into a giant pile again and again as needed.

  • @michaelvial125
    @michaelvial125 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Mining dirt in the mud piles is faster,ie the pig sty or river bank at harvest farm, you get between X5-X7 per hit, so easily couple thousand dirt from the area with 1 iron pick axe.Normal Stone comes in different hardness you will have noticed. But stone within an elixir mine where you have destroyed a shroud root is best. Stone below the mycelium or beside it is super soft, so your looking at about X4- X6 per hit with iron pick axe. An exp is through the roof and can be done anywhere you find these two resources.

    Quick tip: For stone its quicker to place a flame altar at the Braelyn bridge (first big stone bridge in the game) and just deconstruct the bridge. For some reason instead of getting build blocks you get raw stone instead. I gathered like 4k stone in 5 minutes.

    Meanwhile me with my copper pick axe farming 300+ stone in the same amount of time from a rock pillar and 600+ dirt in same time from a mud pit....

  • @michaelvial125
    @michaelvial125 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Ok just re-checked this method. the dirt method gives a better return upto x8 per hit with an iron pickaxe. But stone gives max x4-x5 per hit, so the elixir stone mine method gives better stone returns for upto x7 per hit with a iron pick axe. Thanks for uploading bro.

    thanks so much! I need so much dirt. Doesn't seem to work with luminesant blocks, spent 5 got 3 back, but maybe a better pick axe will help that????

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think pickaxe changes how much you get back from mining. Just damage and durability. I think that's the only block type I didn't test. I didn't think you'd be able to place that one

    I feel like this is cheating but at the same time it definitely respects my time as a player. Thanks man

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Christopheralb somewhat yes and no, in my opinion anyways. All the materials you can do this with are infinitely obtainable already through traditional means, this just makes it more convenient.
      Glad it helped you though

    A lot of info with tilos and tricks thanks for it Man. Fő you mind if I ask where van I find a max lv legendary melee and bow? Witch is fixed like that lovely staff? ☺️☺️

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sadly I don't have any info on legendary weapons. I haven't kept my eye on those since they get out leveled fairly quickly in early to mid game.
      I'm not even sure if I've found a good 1 handed legendary melee weapon or wand at all yet and I'm up to level 18. Always seem to get staffs

    Pretty sure you can extend that even more with a rake no?
    That's also what I do with farmland. Put farmland down, extend with rake and either farm or mine.
    You can also do this with dirt paths.
    You can also farm water by crafting a well and picking it up/replacing it.
    But honestly with dirt and stone i just walk outside my base and mine it because it respawns. I feel like it would be slower to keep placing it and mining it then simply mining non stop till break.

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'll be honest, sounds like you are further along than I am XD. Between work and editing these videos I notice I'm not actually progressing that quickly lol. But depending on how far you go, the travel time with wherever you are going to grind dirt and stone, plus then coming back to repair, might add up. Guess it depends on how far from your base and workbench you go. Will have to try that out with farmlands and whatnot when I get there

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I did try it with farmland and it does work. The returns aren't huge on it. Took 10 for a box 4m terrain block and I got 15 back.

    My game seems to be bugged where i can't Ctrl + scroll wheel to change materials when building anyone else?

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haven't seen that one before. Probably just exit the world and enter it again tho. I've had other glitches and that's fixed it

      @@ValidWTP I don't have a delay it just isnt displaying at all even outside base and i respeced for minning for lumi and copper atm but i guess its not a huge deal. a full lumi pillar got me 15 which is 300 blocks so itll be ok just puttin them in for non fire light where i see fit.

    I just go into a different world and desconstruct the terrain.

  • @Shywer

    Just dig ... teleport home if you are done :D Everything respawns out of your flame area...

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does. But why ever leave the flame area, or better yet, 5 steps away from your workbench to repair when your pickaxe breaks. I'm lazy man, can't expect me to do multiple gathering trips lmao

    Works with farm soil too, who knows what else it works with. I wish it could work with Iron but nope.

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Works on limestone as well

  • @shineek
    @shineek 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This method is so slow i get 5 times more from just digging straight down. Not only you waste time on having to place those blocks, you additionally waste time having to relocate every few swings.

    • @ValidWTP
      @ValidWTP  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok. And what happens when you break your pickaxe. You are stuck in a hole and have to exit and reload the game or port out, wasting time, and then run back outside of the zone of your flame alter or else you permanently have a big hole in the ground.
      This also works for every type of resource that you can place as a terrain, such as farm dirt for instance which you need regularly to produce seeds, not to mention the other resources such as lime stone that you'd likely have to travel to go get.

    • @shineek
      @shineek 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ValidWTP Its really not hard to have multiple pickaxes when you try to farm stone, also if you are not having a potato base the rested buff lasts for 30+ minutes, finally teleporting takes a fraction of time and is only done once after you finish farming outside of the base zone to not leave any permanent holes. All in all, i tried your method and in the same time normal digging down uses 3 pickaxes, your method uses 1,5. Thats double the speed.
      Finally both methods are in the end slow and inefficient anyways since just placing an altar near some buildings and taking them apart gives more blocks than farming stones. Though i dont think you can get every type of block this way as efficient.
      Mind you i only meant stone, your method might actually be more valid in surface only materials like dirt and sand as those require to move around anyways, so doing it outside of base does not get it done any faster.
