I was thinking about getting this game. I hear some things about progression that I can miss out on stuff since it's not per person but like collective effort and I could miss out on stuff. What's that about? It looks like a great game though and I find it fun to watch.
Not sure if anyone commented on this , but for planting seed, instead of planting them right on the grass outside your base , craft some Farm Soil / Rich Farm soil , and with the Construction Hammer, swap to terrain mode , and select the large horizontal flat square, it should cost you 1 soil for that entire chunk per placement, and the plant will grow faster on it and it can actually look pretty good if you build some sort of fake planters with a wood frame around the Farm Soil. Just upgrade to the Rich version as soon as you unlock it as it incredibly speed up the growth rate and since you will need a lot of Linen from Flax later on, its worth doing all of them.
On a whim, I put a Flame Altar down in front of the large building in Morwena. It has a comfort level of 20 or so and gives a LARGE rested bonus! Free buildings for 5 stone! lol
@@Invin I believe I heard that they are working on snapping issues for repairing the existing buildings. Hope they get that done soon. With max level Altars you could build entire towns.
@@slate613 free build mode /unsnapping build mode allows you to reapair any damged structure/buildings you find. Terrain/foundation block removal is the best way to clear damaged building pieces and leaves a neat cut out as opposed to use pick axes.
My biggest tip: ALWAYS carry an altar of fire with you, and a free spot to put it down! Unless enshrouded you will almost always be able to put it down, teleport to base to stock items, repair and sleep, then teleport back, destroy the altar, and bring it with you.
Hey guys, I have a good tip which can yield you unlimited amounts of water. Tip - if you are in dire need a lot of water (for example when farming) you can build the water well or the improved one, place it down infront of you and scoop water. then right after; Pick it up and place it down again, this will "restart" the first 3 or 5 scoop of water (depending on which well you build) that you can harvest. which you can do indefinitely. happy scooping!
@Invin the only other survival game I've seen it in is v rising. It was a button instead of a hotkey. The number of clicks you save... your mouse hand will thank you.
There is one feature in Grounded with the chests I wish we had in Enshrouded. Being able to hot deposit stuff already in each chest without opening up the chest. I know this would be tough though given it would require a different button mapped since press and hold are respectively open and pick up if chest is empty.
This was very helpful I couldnt figure out how to craft goo. I thought when you find the materials it unlocks things not crafting new stuff. So Thanks!. Its a pain sifting through tips and tricks videos looking for info most rehash the same tips but sometimes people offer some useful things I didn't know. Its worth mentioning when it comes to comfort, all the items inside your base add to the comfort level of the entire base, so you can spread those comfort items around and dont have to stack them all up in the same room .
Hey i found out a new exploration trick now what i am making use now. If you are explorating and you want to store your loot, renew your buff or want to get night to day again just place a altar and teleport to your base and after that you can fast travel back. Oh and aso good to repair your weapons and tools. Another trick to save atleast a little bit of time: If unlocking a chest with a lockpick if you cancel the animation the Chest is instantly open.
In terms of crafting things at vendors the game shows you an exclamation mark next to items that once crafted open another item, although I think that these exclamation marks can also indicate there is a related quest to complete too.
I think this is a bit buggy because I keep having those for weapons / equipment but without quest or already completed quests until I craft them, which is basically just extra / waste of resources. Had this with the blacksmith for the one handed weapons and with the alchemist for the staff. But maybe I'm just missing something here.
@Thoughts To be honest I think you might be right about it being a bit buggy - I noticed with the Alchemists staff that the first time I crafted it the exclamation mark didn't disappear but then later on in my game (a lot later), I crafted it again because I wanted to see if I'd done whatever it was waiting for and it cleared the exclamation mark but nothing else happened - no quest updated, nothing. So I think you are spot on when saying it's buggy.
Yes that's correct, individual items that are different tend to work consecutively but two of the same for example two lights do not. However multiple lights are much nicer on the visuals!
As a point of reference you do not require any of the sleepers awakened and summoned to your altar to complete or beat the game.Everything you need that they can give you can be found throughout the game, bar better food items and farming both of which is not required to beat the game. The grind is harder and a lot of resource farming/ie login/ log out is required but its achievable.
At the starting base location you can drop down into the shroud. There is a tower with a chest on top you can see from the ledge before gliding down. There’s salt at that tower
there is a golden chest at the third pylon of the broken bridge, you can place an altar on the floor at the far end of bridge an farm it, you will need to dig through rubble to get to it. there is also a salt mine to the left of your starting location, near the map border with 3 silver chests, called the saline mine, easy to walk in an out of shroud right behind it.
For comfort it is important to say, only the highest of each archetype is used. In chairs there are Thrones and Chairs so both are used, in Bathroom, toilette, sinks, bathtub. But illumination only has illumination so far. (for me) It says what it is next to the amount of comfort it provides
Hey! new to the game, absolutely love it so far. Also, your videos are very helpful and thorough. Was wondering if you would ever consider doing a base walkthrough for your base? Have seen a little of it here and there and I really enjoy the layout.
I don't think you need to craft one of everything, I am pretty sure if the craft able item will unlock something else then it has a small yellow dot in the top left corner of it. I noticed this with the bug dust and some others. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure it is correct.
Here is a trick, if you are playing on PC and use a wand and shield, if an enemy is coming at you you can press the right button to block while clicking the left button to shoot, without locking in the enemy, and as long as you are facing the enemy you will always block the attacks while you keep on attacking
1:58 They aren't unique and respawn. You can get multiple sparks from the same shrine. 7:06 You already have the small 1m block and the big 4? meter square which are already completely flat (the latter might leave a gap beneath depending on the size of your hole if you just cover it). The "rock" type is meant for literal rocks, like boulders, for decorative purposes, not to make flat surfaces. 8:17 Locked doors are destructible too, just use the felling axe on them. I had to do this once after it respawned me in the Necropolis, as it was my last respawn point I visited (died in the mines in the beginnig of this video while trying to make my way to the waypoint T_T). 8:30 This goes for other recipes too. Like arrows. The regular wood arrows are hella expensive compared to let's say even scrap arrows, even though you need an additional material type you save a lot of sticks. 15:58 Some of the buttons are out of range for wand projectiles and you can craft the wooden arrows fairly easily on a pinch. At least I have always sticks on me anyway.
They do not need light. Different plants grow at different rates, and then the kind of soil you use also impacts growth rate. Use the best soil you can - probably farm soil, at least until you can make the enriched version (which I can't yet, lol!)
They haven't fixed the rake issue I had the problem yesterday and their last hit fix was 24th Jan. If you look at the rake issue it is mentioned on 27th Jan. They really need to fix this issue because now I have to start a new character in a new world to make a bunch of rakes and bring them over to my current world. It's completely crazy
@@michaelvial125 I use the rake to spread farm soil. If you put one down and rake the edges then it spreads. No need tk make a bunch of the farm soil and cover the land. Same with the fertilized soil
You need an iron sheet, charcoal and wood planks (for this you need the saw blade from the carpenters' quest), if you have all those three and can craft them then do so and then it should definitely unlock.
Thankfully the other commenters here have helped but yes, make sure you place and craft everything you can and if its still not there try progressing the carpenter questline!
Hey after 45h playtime this Video is useful. I still have a question: Where did you get that Fancy Stone blocks and Limestone and would you recommending me building a base after finding all 5 npc's or should i wait for more recipes? (Destroyed my first base yesterday because i hated the beginner blocks so much :D)
There is a ton of blocks out there. I recommend just building a rudimentary starting base at first, and just follow the questline until you have all 5, and also a lot of the equipment they ask for in their respective questlines. Not only will you unlock a massive amount of building items and tech, but you will find a lot of very cool places to build bases that are centralized and have spectacular views.
@@kjetilknyttnev3702 hey, thanks for the tips. I think i have to do just 2 important Quests for new Workbenches and i will craft somethings at the new work benches and then i will unlock new things and maybe new blocks. I already mined clay for over 6h for modern blocks. And i think im including fancy stone bricks in some parts of my new base im pretty sure i can get it from the Builder NPC Questline. And yesterday... After 5h i found an insane nice building Place west from the starter area at a mountain, i placed flame altars and did "Minecraft things" in order to get up to this mountain and got amazing view there.
31 possible blocks to build with .i prefer the highly polished stone blocks, nearly white very light reflective..found at top north east of map..on Scavenger Matron, at East Lapis town, ocean compound at top right of town. Also tin can be found here in 2 locations out of shroud and its inbetween the 2 biggest iron deposit caves on the map, both of which are shroud free.
Leveling in this game is weird, kind of upside-down, in a way. I doubt the developers really intended that, but due to how the game works, gaining a new level takes a really long time in the beginning and then goes faster and faster towards the end. It felt like it took ages to even get from level 1 to 2 and then to 3, while the last 10 levels just rained down on me in no time. The reason is that the XP requirements don't go up drastically for each level, as they do in most other games, while the rate at which you get XP goes up pretty fast, due to the fact that you can mine materials much faster with better pickaxes, can travel better with better gliders and skills and can engage enemies easier.
Also I would have been a big fan of a level suggestion on quests, so you get an idea of where you are supposed to be at your level. I had such a hard time in the revelwood, because I completely skipped the meadows. And then came to the meadows just one hitting everything.
@@97LauraLee I guess if you just follow the quests in the order you get them, it should be OK. I think the game does a OK job at sending you to get new NPCs and their tools step by step. Of course in open world games it is usually possible and likely that you run into enemies you are not strong enough for yet, but in that regard this game even goes out of its way to minimize the likelihood of that happening via the "Red Shroud" mechanic, which is supposed to limit where you can go as long as you don't have the right level. I actually prefer the old-fashioned kind of doing RPG worlds, where the monsters in certain areas have fixed levels and if you are not strong enough yet, you are getting in trouble when going there. The alternative is that the monsters level with the player character like they do in Skyrim and other Bethesda games. I like the first way of doing it better, because it gives you a nice feeling of growth, progression and accomplishment when you level up and suddenly are strong enough to fight your way into parts of the map that you previously had to avoid.
@@TrangleC Yea I like the leveling system as well. But since you level so slowly at the beginning, it does make a big difference where you go first. I used to be fine with that in most cases. I remember hating it in gothic. A suggestion wouldn't change any of that, but just save some time and frustration. Ofc you can look at guides, etc, but they often include spoilers. As you said, the game does an OK job, but I would prefer a suggestion, since I can't remember in what order I got 15 quests after coming back to the game after a few days.
@@97LauraLee Yes. The Gothic games stand out in my memory too as examples for that. It is frustrating at first, but all the sweeter later when you finally are powerful enough to defeat enemies you had to run from before. In Enshrouded it becomes obvious how hard a quest will be once you realize the geography of the map, with the danger level increasing along an arc that goes from the staring area in the South-West of the map, first up North, then East and eventually down to the South-East again. Of course the game doesn't explicitly tell you that from the beginning, so problems from doing stuff out of order like in your case can happen, but as I said, the danger is minimized by the red shroud mechanic. I didn't have that issue myself because I was inpatient and spoiled much for myself by rushing through the map long before I was the right level. It wasn't just impatience. I was just afraid of fighting the Wyvern because I heard it is a very hard fight and I am not one of those "Git Gud" Souls-Like player guys who enjoys dying 40 times fighting some boss monster, so I decided to prepare as well as possible for that fight and get the best possible gear and weapons and so I followed a tutorial that enabled me to reach the endgame area in the South-East when I was only level 11 and most of the red shroud was still active. Of course I didn't fight any level 30 monsters, but just rushed to a golden chest in the last Sun Temple and kept farming that, avoiding all enemies and getting top tier gear I then used to eventually go back and fight the Wyvern.
@@TrangleC I used to appreciate that, but the older I get the less I want to grind for a fake sense of accomplishment that I will have forgotten about in a few days. Younger 100% gamer me would have been disappointed to hear that, but it is what it is. :D
What I am having trouble with is getting loot that is my level when someone who is lower level is in the game. I am 13, and my wife is level 6, and I keep getting loot that is her level.
You need to go to more difficult areas to get higher tiered items. For example, if you go to the far east in the desert, you can get things up to level 25 I believe.
I'm max level, have found every shroud and every obelisk. most flame shrines, even though its pointless now to find all those. I've been hoarding resources trying to fill chests so that I can sit down and have a real long build. other than that, nothing to do. i have all the best gear, no reason to go look for chests or kill mobs anymore. Took me roughly 30 hours to do all that. which makes me kind of sad, I was ready to dump 100.
Really on 30 hours? I feel like I'm moving at a decent pace, but trying to do all side quests and I've put 30 hours in and am only level 13@@Mik3jensen
I have all quests done. Only thing i dont have is all the shrines, but my alter is maxed out already. I didnt exploit the game or look anything up either. Did the whole thing solo. @bradenfreeman775
30 hours is super fast paced for everything. Did you not really build or explore amd just fast track to all the quests? I feel like this game is not meant for a speed run but who knows @Mik3jensen
@3Bud I had my main starting base that was pretty large. I'm making a huge base on top of the highest point in the current game right now. I did the quests as I got them. I didn't waste time crafting any gear because I always found better stuff just by playing. I only crafter the final set of gear, but only two pieces because i wanted the bonuses they provided. I didnt speed run at all, just kept doing the next thing as it offered it to me.

@@Mik3jensen thx but i checked it..maybe i need some recources or Special tools??
You need an iron sheet, charcoal and wood planks (for this you need the saw blade from the carpenters' quest), if you have all those three and can craft them then do so and then it should definitely unlock.
@@eMikecs hmmm thx, think i got all of it
Thankfully the other commenters here have helped but yes, make sure you place and craft everything you can and if its still not there try progressing the carpenter questline!

I use my invisible shield as a quick light while in dark places. Give it a try.
Still trying to figure out flooring lol😮
Is it just me, or is the combat super easy and boring? I'm 20 hours in and find no challenge from it. Killed the first boss in about 5 hits
someone know how plant Wheat?
I just can't seem to level up, it's so slow and I fight everything I see (i do die a lot, way more than I would have expected lol)
the whole world is a voxel world and destructible...just like minecraft, even the spires.
Wells are def sooner than 2 hours
everytime i try to use my rake, it pushes the dirt into one huge pile in front of me and crates a deep hole very quickly. does not flatten at all haha
Gotta rotate it flat with R,
Yes as the other comment here says, rotate the angle of it!
thank you@@alexandmorri2254
What I am having trouble with is getting loot that is my level when someone who is lower level is in the game. I am 13, and my wife is level 6, and I keep getting loot that is her level.
You need to go to more difficult areas to get higher tiered items. For example, if you go to the far east in the desert, you can get things up to level 25 I believe.
Yes as the other commenter here said, its depends on the area you are in. As you get to higher level areas you will get better and higher level drops.
no chat in this game and if you play on a open server people steal everything
what is this game endgame like
I'm max level, have found every shroud and every obelisk. most flame shrines, even though its pointless now to find all those.
All of these that are 4 months old are out of date and do not apply now !
Thank you for making this video. Can someone tell me where he built his base? It looks nice. Note I have an Enshrouded Nitrado server. If anyone would like to join. Please reply and I will give you, my password.
I thought they were doing procedural world guess not
why you are constanly jumping.....
Faster than just running
Jumping ironically cost no stamina but it keeps your momentum
Yes as the others have commented here and as I mentioned in my previous video, it is a faster way to travel and doesn't cost any stamina when done correctly for whatever reason!
He’s part rabbit. Well that’s what I heard anyway. 😀
@@abbynormall207😂
Am I the only one bothered by all those jumps?
Great game but far too easy
What is the point even playing the game if you're just going to watch this guy spoil it for you..
Some people prefer to see a guide on things, I appreciate it isn't for everyone but nobody HAS to watch these videos, I just appreciate and make content for those that do want them.
Says the guy watching the video 😂
@@bradenfreeman775this guy acts like there weren’t WaW guides back in the day. It’s helpful to know these little things when I don’t have unlimited time to play.
huh? what was spoiled? lmao
@@Invin And yes i really prefer guides sometimes because there are things you can do wrong for over 300h. For example the Lockpicking mistake. Finally i know that now. Thanks to you, you saved me alot of metal scrap.
Over 100 hours playing and now i learn the Shift+R. Ha! Thank you, mate!
