I don’t know if you know this Randy, but that Mini Cooper GP is a special edition from the factory that mini only does like 8 years or so, and there is only 215 made for the world. That is an incredible find
Randy, the Mini is a MK2 John Cooper Works (JCW is big in Mini's history) GP, known as the GP2. In 2013, it was Mini's fastest ever car, topping 150mph, with 214bhp in US spec @ 6000rpm and 206lb ft. 0-60 ran around 6.1 - 6.3 seconds. It lapped the Nurburgring in 8 mins 23 secs. They have the same 6-piston Brembo brakes, as the BMW 135i. I think the GP2 was one of around 500 sold in the US, so you won't see too many of that model on the road there. Priced around $40,000 new, they only came in that configuration. Cool project and bags of fun to horn around in.
That Mini a GP. It has special parts that is gonna be a lot more expensive then a normal mini. Atleast Body panel wise, and yes that wing is real carbon fiber. John Cooper Works is the top of the line fast Mini. Would be a fun rebuild. But expensive. These are also lightened, very few options. They are essentially race cars, that's why is got no back seats, and that strut bar is stock.
The MINI GP is a limited edition they made, only 2000 were made world wide. They are an awesome car to drive and a lot of fun. They came with just two seats and the number on the roof is the number out of 2000. You’ll have so much fun if you buy it Randy. 👍👍👍
These Cooper GP's are absolute rocket ships, theres an interesting video somewhere on youtube I seen a while back keeping up with a Renaultsport Megane around the Nurburgring. I'd love one!

Mini GP very rare and very valuable oh and very very quick.Limited 2000 made Worldwide on this model year.Cheapest one in UK for sale is £18,000 approx $24,500
I wasn't familiar with the Mini Cooper GP. 301 horsepower out of a 2.0 four. Road & Track said "But this is not a cutesy car. The Mini GP is more hardcore and more focused than any hot hatch on sale in the U.S. today. It might be the most aggressive car for the price."
That Mini would be a fun project. Little hot rod. JCW can be either a appearance package and or a performance package. This looks like the 250 HP model. They only made 2000 world wide.
Hi Randy, I've been watching your videos for awhile, and it appears I've learnt a few things from you. The BMY... today I was driving behind a BMW, it appeared to have caught fire. I pulled up, told the driver to release the hood, found the pop-out lever, went right to the trunk and disconnected the battery . A fellow driver had a fire extinguisher at the ready. She blew a trans coolant line, no fire!

The Mini Cooper would be an interesting car. Best of the Minis if you want to rebuild one. Certainly the most worth while of them and once it's on the road you will find it's like driving a slot car.
The Mini GP is the highest spec mini you can get. That one is number 215 in a limited edition run of (?) hence the decal on the roof. Go for it if the parts are cheap enough. Guaranteed fun, fun, fun on road or track. It's got a great power-to-weight ratio too.
There is a nice Mustang convertible to the left of the Mustang that I thought would be the start. Does not look bad as well as the Malibu to the right and Grand Prix to the left of the Mustang. Great video as usual.
Jcw is the high performance mini , and the gp is a higher performance mini , as said by others, it's basically a street legal race car . The number on the roof with the gp is the production # (limited production) . They are not cheap cars but are definitely worth it for the driving experience.
The mini is cool. I have a strange liking for them myself. I really like that mustang because it shows the real damage that isn’t hidden behind a crumpled up quarter panel. If I had the money I’d jump on it
JCW is the racing/tuner house for the Mini. Before BMW bought Mini, JCW made tuning kits for the mini. John Cooper was friends with Sir Alec Issigonis who was the original designer of the mini and they went into a partnership to produce the rally version and hence the name Mini Cooper. Much more complicated history since the car was produced in the UK by Britsh Layland, Rover, BMC and in other countries under other names.
You should get a Beatle (maybe not that one), but you just have to experience how easy it is to pull the motor. It’s an under an hour job from what most People say. Essence of simplicity
That vw beetle has a stock motor. And with the removable parts that's a really fixable project, you can rebuild one on your table in about 3 hours. The sunroof is one of about 1200 that came to the US, and the highback seats are rare too. I would very much recommend picking this one it one like it up, it's an easier job than you think
Hey Randy. Just a Mustang tip to tell what engine is in it at a glance. The pony on the trunk lid is the sign. If it's the pony with the tri bar, its a V6. If its just the pony its a 4 cylinder. And obviously if its a GT its a V8.
That Beetle looks like it went from air-cooled to water-cooled real quick. LOL!!! If the body is not savable, it might be a great candidate for a Meyer's Manx conversion.
If you could get the mini you would be in love at first drive. They are excellent cars and very fast. It would be all about the cost of purchasing and parts. If you could swing it ,it would be great content and rewarding once finished. 👍
Randy, The VW bug would be a good restoration project, especially if the body panels and floor pan are rust-free. Replacement parts are plentiful and cheap. Also; The engine comes out with just 4 bolts. Probably caught fire due to a ruptured fuel line, if it was dislodged due to being hit in the back. Restored bugs are now bringing in good $$$.
Um... both the EcoBoost 4 Cyl and EcoBoost 6 cyl are available in the Mustang.. N/A engines (other than the V8) are quickly going the way of the dodo in Ford. I will tell you that while you have to take the entire front end off to work on the engine at all, and they are known to have some engine issues with plastic timing chain guides and cam sprockets that aren't keyed, Mini's are SERIOUSLY FUN TO DRIVE! They really are street legal gokarts.. And as someone that's 6'10 and all torso, they are one of the few cars with a ton of headroom for me.. just kind of hard to get up out of with knee issues. Oh an also on the Mini the entire front core support is plastic all the way around. The John Cooper Works editions are basically the Mini Shelby. They are the high end race style cars which is why it has the supports and no back seat and special wheels, brakes, interior etc.. Base price for a JCW was $31,500 though now they are only worth ~$8.5-10k "Mini says this second-generation JCW is built around its brakes, which are sourced from Brembo and built specifically for the 2015 Mini John Cooper Works. The 13.2-inch front brake rotors and fixed four-piston calipers are so much larger than what's on the Cooper S that Mini needed to tailor a new wheel to fit them. The turbocharged inline-four engine produces 228 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, and it features hemispherical-type piston crowns for improved durability and a special turbo with improved heat resistance. The JCW also has a high-flow exhaust system that uses wafer-thin tubing to reduce weight. Meanwhile, equal-length half shafts and brake-based torque vectoring help curb torque steer."
The mini is special.. first is a John Cooper Works. This is already an update on the John Cooper version. Then its a GP edition. Lightweight, carbon go faster parts.. its a track car for the steet. Its very rare and not at all a cheap car. The bonnet will be expensive foe sure.. I'm shocked that for such a hit, the air bags didn't deploy! It's a seriously cool, mega quick car.. you can get those kiddy racer stickers off the rear side windows though. They are tacky and detract from the look of the car. Colour combo is perfect too. 250hp is a lot in a car that size too 😎👍
That is what you would call a Silverado upside-down edition;) And that Mini GP is bought like that, and has indeed real carbon fiber parts on it. Over here(Netherlands) it did cost over u$75K 306HP 5 sec to 60mph top speed of 265 k/ph.
