The water spout was sudden but stormy weather was forecast. hence no fishing boats were out; yet not only were the passengers allowed to sleep in their cabins as normal, but the hatches were all open open and the keel, crucial for stability especially in those conditions. had been raised. All this, from a supppsedly experienced skipper. He’s been grilled already by Italian prosecutors, reportedly with no suggestion of wrongdoing… yet.
