I was able to get me a 100g tine and I agree it needs a bit more age. This and Old Gowrie are very similar and I like it in a cob a bit more than a briar.
Sounds like a good smoke! Got a question for you if you've got the time. As a nic heavyweight yourself, do you think it's possible to increase nic tolerance over time? I've been a weekend warrior pipe smoker for the netter part of a decade, and "medium strength" blends still have a tendency to kick my ass. I've not seen a lot about this online, if you've got any thoughts on the topic I'd love to hear them. Thanks, Sonny!
There are many theories about that process. I do think it’s doable, but you may have to smoke more than just on the weekends to accomplish said goal. You may be giving the nicotine too long a chance to leave your system between smokes.
Never tried this blend, but have several tins hidden in the back of my cellar, waiting for them to get some age on them. I keep telling myself to resist the urge to open and wait for my self-imposed 5 year mark. Looking forward to it, but sounds like I've made the right call.
My favorite blend. I found with or without age Hal smokes the best on the verge of crispy. until moisture is correct it is pretty bitey.

I get a bit of a wax note from this, time in cellar may help the greenness. Stirling flake and Old Gowrie is better imho....

I smoked through a whole 100g tin of this stuff and I only really enjoyed it about 25% of the time.
How much age did it have on it?
