I just started crocheting about 3 weeks ago and have been working on amigurumi very recently and seriously, this is the easiest tutorial to follow that I’ve found so far. My axolotl is so cute and I’m so excited to check out more of your videos!!
I wish I found this when I first started. My first amigurumi was a chonky dino, which after a while looked adorable, but my first one looked like he was doing the twist 🤣😭
Even though I'm Polish and my English is average, this tutorial was recorded in such a way that I understand everything very well and the axolotl turned out very cute
I've done 2 already for my friends birthday and he loved them so much, he didnt put them down even once!! i have literally watched all of the videos of how to crochet an axolotl and they turned out nothing like axolotls but when i watched this one it turned out so adorable and cute, Genna i love how you explained it step by step and it was so easy to crochet, thank you so much!
I know Im late to the party but im old!!! 69 yr old crocheting my first Axolotl! First one my Chihuahua puppy stole but it was ok cuz it was a mess! My second one is AMAZING!!! and completed in about 2 hrs. (Old people hobble to the bathroom a lot LOL). I see MANY more of these! Thank You Genna!!! Im just finishing Winnie the dragon then I start your dragon!!!!!
a very good tutorial! i started crocheting 2 weeks ago and this tutorial was very easy to follow, it was also the first time that i did a bobble and half double crochet and you explained it very well. Thank u
@Bl0zArtic I know this is late but just start by learning the stitches then making like a scarf which is really beginner friendly and lastly start the amigurimi it's going to look bad at the beginning but you'll progress 😅😊
@@Bl0zArtic Another good thing to learn about before making amigurumi is how increases work. Every circular project involves increasing the number of stitches per round. You'll also want to learn what a decrease is. It's very similar to an increase, but instead of adding a stitch, you are taking away a stitch.
Girrrrlll!!! Love this tutorial!! You should definitely do more because you are so good at it!!! You literally do the perfect mix of explaining in detail while also not over explaining!! This was a great, quick, adorable tutorial!!! Definitely hoping for more in the future!! 💗💗💗
This was my first animal that I ever attempted. I usually make blankets and scarves. I went with Simply Soft yarn and a 3.75mm hook. I also sewed the eyes with yarn so I could give it to a child and not worry about them choking. It turned out super cute and fits in the palm of my hand! Thank you for your easy to follow pattern and video! I love my little Axolotl friend!
I’m only about halfway through since I need to buy the eyes before I continue, but so far it’s super easy to follow! This is my first crochet project (besides some very scuffed gloves lmao) and it’s turned out great so far! You’ve earned a subscriber
@@crochetbygennaI finally got the eyes and finished the axolotl and he is perfect I added a row of double crochets to the tail fin to make it bigger and I love it
Mine turned out so cute!! I made it for my cousin for Christmas because she wants to collect crocheted sea creatures. She's going to love it!! Thanks for making this pattern Genna!!
Thank you soooo much for the tutorial!!! I’ve spent so long trying to find good tutorials for free and none of them seemed to work, until this one! It turned out so cute and I’m giving it to my sister for her birthday tomorrow! It turned out so cute I might make another lol. Tysm for the great tutorial! 💗💗
I made one so far, and it turned out adorable! I have my first market in 5 days and i plan on making a couple more of these! You’re my favourite crochet youtuber and this tutorial did not disappoint
Oh my goodness! Thank you for the pattern!!!! I have wanted to make one for SO long!!! Pls make A BUNCH of videos so I can watch them over Christmas break!
I've made a few and they are absolutely adorable. For some reason mine turn out with their heads turned once the body is done. But it gives them character.
This video is old, but I can’t tell you how addicted I am to it. I’ve made 6 different ones so far and the one I just finished is made out of extra thick blanket yarn. It’s huge and super cute and I could have never made it without this video!!! Thank you so much
I love this pattern so much! I think it’s my favorite axolotl pattern by far because it’s no sew! I’ve watched your channel so much. This might be my favorite thing to crochet! Thanks again Genna, happy crocheting!
I just finished the axolotl and she is so darn cute! My daughter is going to love it. Thank you for your clear, concise instructions. I will be trying more of your patterns!
I'm 64 yrs old and just found out what an axolotle is 😂. Well let me tell you I think it is the most adorable thing ever. 🥰. Thanks for this easy to follow tutorial and I see alot of axolotles in my future.😊
I absolutely love this pattern! I just finished it rn! so adorable and cute! I used white as a body base and pink for the gills and tail thank you so much for this pattern!!
Genna, you are a joy to watch! You explain and demonstrate things so well. Just watched and wrote down all the instruction. Can't wait to make it today, but will come back to watch over while doing it for the hard parts. Love your enthusiasm!

It’s so cuteee! I made one and it worked up really quickly and took up very little yarn! My cousin is gonna love it. (She’s loves axolotls and she loves seeing my crochet stuff, so I’m giving it to her)
I've just made this axolotl in lilac and pastel green. Came so cute. I'm gonna make another one in blue and red. I love your channel and your tutorials! I wish there's even some more free tutorials of other plushies ❤ your work is amazing, 😍 thanks a lot!!
that’s so cute! i bought hot pink and baby pink plush yarn for a failed vday project (actually her pink valentines turtle pattern) and you gave me the idea to use the rest of the plush yarn for the axolotl :)
Ive literally never crocheted anything other than a blanket and granny squares. Ive tried years ago to do amigurumi and failed immediately. Never been able to read a pattern, and now i think i finally understand after watching this video. I did watch it twice before i tried and just finished up my axolotl. I didnt have the right yarn, but I didnt want to buy some if i couldnt get it. And i also do not have eyes so my axolotl is blind. But I might actually buy the correct stuff to try again. Thank you!
I just made this for my grandson. I ended up putting three double crochet in the top of the tail before finishing the underside part of the fin. IMO it gives a cleaner look.
I'm about to crochet this for my girlfriend who loves to crochet, wish me luck you guys-
