    this is top tier, I learned how to crochet yesterday and now I can't stop making baby animals. I love it!

      How did you learn in 2 days, I’ve been trying to do a single stitch for like 5 days 😞

      @EiswolfZero 2 ปีที่แล้ว +195

      @@StevenWatson123 first of all don't give up, it just depends on the way you learn best. Maybe you need to find that method!
      For me it's the motivation that I want to make a hat with a pattern in English which meant for me that I needed to learn how to crochet and to do so in English.
      With that kind of motivation I like to "brute force" some knowledge. First I watched a 15 minute tutorial about the main stitches in crochet and a video about the magic ring. After that I already moved on to some of these baby animals because not only can you clearly see what to do, you can always go back to the tutorial videos to learn any stitch again you suddenly forgot. (and for me I learn best from having to look up what I forgot). Believe me, I was incredibly frustrated some rounds because I didn't count them right, but it worked out in the end! 😊

      @Julia Chua thank you! There's still stuff to learn however 😊

      @Julia Chua Girl you're doing great at 10 when I first learned to crochet I hated it and the hand-hook coordination was really hard. Practice on the common stitches alott along a video and soon you'll get the hang if it

    I want to thank you for this video, i started crochet a few months ago and i never understood why my stitches looked okay but not quite like the one the pics. it was because i wasn't paying attention to the way i yarned. Turns out i was always yarning over and never under, i watched a lot of videos to learn crochet and i've never saw someone pointing this detail out. So thank you a lot :) . (PS i love your baby octopus pattern it's so easy and cute everyone around me got one)

      Have never heard of someone using a yarn under in a tutorial before. Technically a "yarn over" is considered the traditional way to crochet. :D

    • @allfromjade
      @allfromjade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      There’s no “traditional” way of crocheting! There’s different ways, and there are all ok to do! I would say the yarning over both times is more common for other projects (other than amigurumi) but getting more and more popular for amigurumis 💖

    WOW. This is the most complex thing i’ve made so far (I’ve pretty much made a square, a heart, and a flower), but this baby jellyfish came out so so good! My stitches look neater on this jelly than my other small projects. The way that you explained things made it so easy!
    I do admit, in the beginning you said we should have 8 stitches and I somehow had 12, but I chose to keep on going instead of going back to fix it. So my jelly was slightly bigger, which ended up coming to bite me in the end when the hole on my jelly was HUGE compared to yours. But I was able to fix it and make it look good! Will definitely be attempting again, thank you again!!

    I absolutely love this pattern and it’s so easy to follow! I’m very much a beginner, so some parts were a little difficult, only because it’s something I haven’t learned yet lol. Your explanations were amazing, and I just finished my first of many crochet jellyfish Christmas ornaments!! Thank you so much!

    I have been trying to learn how to crochet for a little over a week now. I was really struggling until I found this video. I love the way you explain everything. It makes so much sense now. I’ve already made 3 mini jellyfish and each time they get better and better. You’re an amazing teacher!

    Taught myself to crochet decades ago, but I couldn’t make a “Magic Ring” to save my soul…until I watched this video! Unequivocally, Jade offers the most comprehensive instructions I’ve encountered! Mega thanks!

    Thank you!!! This was so easy I taught myself the stitches and made on of these little guys the same day!

  • @maih9431
    @maih9431 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Remember the tail for the magic ring needs to be underneath, I made this mistake because it is not mentioned in the video. I also found that the jellyfish body didn't 'pop' without me forcing it (putting both my thumbs in and moulding it).

      Glad you mentioned this…maybe it should be obvious but it wasn’t to me. Initially I found myself trying to figure out what was the wrong side and the right side but got it figured out eventually!

    Amazing tutorial, thank you so much!! This was my first ever crotchet attempt too, had to re-start about 5 times, but eventually got the hang of it, and now I have an adorable baby jellyfish and I feel like I kinda actually know how to crotchet! Definitely buying the mama jellyfish pattern, once I get some more practice making the babies! ^_^

    Help I'm so confused I'm on stage 3 and I ended up with 24 instead of 18, and I double checked that I had the proper amounts of 6 and 12 prior, so I don't understand where I'm going wrong 😭
