I use customer round sleeve to get their arm hole by adding one inch..for instance if the round sleeve is 14 (7) I will make the length of the arm hole 16 (8)
That can work in some cases but it won't be accurate most of the time. My round sleeve is 13 inches and my armhole measurement is 17 inches. If i use that your formula to determine my armhole, i'll have a very tight armhole.
I see that most tailors assume that the general standard for shoulder slope is 1 inch. But it's wrong. To determine the measurement of a body part, you need another body part measurement to get it right. Therefore, Shoulder Slope ,= Shoulder /10 Bust cleavage, = Nipple to nipple/2 ,- 1cm. This is for corset pattern
@@banyetchetnicodemusibrahim42 you’re correct. There’s no general standard for shoulder slope because we all have different body types and shape. Some have a more slanted shoulder while others don’t. Thanks for the feedback.
@@Okeezy-v7g Yes, if you use 1 inch slant for the shoulder, it'll create an unattractive diagonal line around the chest area and create extra fabric around the chest.
@@gideondauda5435 You’re welcome. For a kaftan slit, what determines the slit length is usually the top length. The longer the top lengths, the longer the slit. For an adult, i usually sew about 15 to 16 inche down from under the armhole and leave the rest for the slit, while for children, i sew about 11, 12, to 13 inches from under the armhole and then leave the rest for the slit.

The flap measurement is the same as the crotch measurement. The formula is waist divided by 4+1.5 inch or 2inches. Another formula is Hip divided by 4. I’ll make a video soon on how to measure a person to get the crotch/flap measurement. Stay updated on the channel.
