@@Fivemacs It makes all the sense, you can use the other players as comparison. If you play solo, you dont see your own character model because it is first person POV
Just found this video by accident. I love this game so so much and playing it myself since the first day of early access release. Looking forward to 1.0 this year. It's always great to see how different ppl built and create their factories. You did a real great job.
Im always happy to see someone else who gives their foundations proper...erm... Foundation. Pillars, walls and ramps look better, in my opinion, than big floating bases.
I have to admit that I'm a contrarian on this point. The game allows you to violate physics? Great, let's see how far we can take that! After all, we're playing to have fun! To each his/her own, tho.
I think that rule is good too, but I think your starter base that'll see you through the first couple tiers of advancement are okay to be platforms just floating out wherever. Once you get to like train level and can start really operating at map-wide level, you should be building out entire segments to handle various products, then when you can make the items you need to keep building, that starter base can just be torn down. The first time I played Satisfactory, I made the mistake of overbuilding my starter base before I even realized it would just be a starter base; I can't tell you how much of a pain it was to tear it down once I realized I'd need to build a bigger facility elsewhere.
@@seven5two5 Oh for sure once you've got your real base worked out, by all means try for the best aesthetics you're capable of. A starter base is just there to make sure you can grind out the basics to get your mega-base or cluster factories set up. Before my map got too built up for my PC to run, I had entire segments of my world factory set up: I had a whole region just for smelting, I had a massive fuel power section, I had an aluminum factory up in the red bamboo area, the works. If I ever get the cash to upgrade my PC, I'm going to get back to that map and start working out distribution networks, collection rigs, and manufacturing of the parts I need to build moving forward, then that starter base in the big desert is going to be torn down and replaced with a resource collection/distribution hub.
I enjoy Satisfactory very much, and I love puzzling out how to do things. Over time I have gotten better at some things and continue to learn how much I have to still learn. Then I watch videos like this and realize how horribly I have let FICSIT down. This was a real blast to watch, and I plan on trying to learn some of your layouts because they look amazing!
Nice! I have a buddy that I have gamed with for over 25 years now from OG Command & Conquer to Space Engineers, to this, and we have always enjoyed co-op strategy games of all sorts. Satisfactory has been such a good gaming staple for us for many hundreds of hours. The game is so well executed and immersive. Coffee Stain did an incredible job with this one on a genre that you'd never expect to have the deep immersive and enjoyable experience like this. A factory builder has no right to have such good atmosphere, feel, sounds, visuals, and everything in between. The game rewards you for taking advantage of the large map and you soon find that the far area over there that seemed way too far away and inaccessible, is now simply your oil refinery you can hyper tube over to! Great video you put together and I always appreciate seeing building and structure aesthetics that people do such as your standardized orange plating. I tend to gravitate towards very large multi-story buildings with large grid windows to give that WWII prime industrial era feel. So many pleasing ways to do it.
This game will be perfect when you can move or rotate things after you've built them instead of just deleting and rebuilding them. Great video! Wildly satisfying to watch, getting some good ideas to improve my abysmal efficiency, and LOVE the music.
really love how they use different levels to combat terrain unevenness, its amazing how good just adding barriers and grounding the platforms and then pulling the colour from the barriers looks! Will have to try that in my next build
It's always interesting to see how other players start. I structured pretty much my entire last start around getting coal power up and running as quickly as possible. The lake near your base is the perfect location for a first coal power plant.
I really like your aesthetic - platforms with belts connecting. It allows some of the natural beauty of the world to be retained while not getting in your way. Killer music too. :)
I always have a hard time in Satisfactory because of building around the terrain... for some reason it never occurred to me to just... build my platforms a bit higher.
Not really a person who enjoys time lapse content but you have put together an amazing piece of content here and selected some complimentary audio to help keep the excitement and positive vibes. Thanks for the great content
I can only imagine someone watching this video thinking this is what the early game experience is only to get a rude awakening when they actually try to play. this is 100% not the early game experience, in the slightest. This is just a time lapse of someone building a small open air factory who already has unlocked early milestones you don't get right away and game knowledge to use it properly.
I like the part where you made your platforms OSHA-compliant with the railings. I suppose the use of ramps and elevators also made your base ADA-compliant lol.
Top design from a beginner factory! The layout is impressive. And everything made by hand? Anyway, I now know what the beginner area and the first factory should look like. Thanks for that.
For anyone wondering this is not what your game will be like. This is a person that clearly has thousand’s of hours in this game. Your experience will be endless frustration trying to build something and tonnes and tonnes of walking simulator.
This is real nice. Very lovely to watch. The only clipping i think i dont like is the miner at 5:42 where you can see the power receptacle through the floor. Otherwise super nice.
I wanna get back in so badly, but I just can't put another 300 hours into a map, just to have a recipe change obliterate my entire factory (looking at you, Coal power). So I gotta wait on that 1.0
Thats cool, Im going to use this for inspiration because im at a lost on how to build my factory and I start something and dont like what I built and tear it all down and start again.
Im the same, im probably 30 starts in on this game over the years. its problem, my wife hates watching me game because she only sees the beginning of games lol.
@@Dekoba yea im totally the same mate, I must of started about 50 or more times because i get so far and then lose interest as its a big grind or destroy all and start again then lose interest haha
Does anyone know what mod I use to make these timelapses while building? It reminds me a lot of the Minecraft replayer and I've been looking for something like that since 1.0 came out. I hope someone can help me. Thanks.
Mods arent out for 1.0 yet. I use ficsit cam, but its not like replay mod exactly, the camera controls are very similar but it doesnt record gameplay. I have to set the camera up in advance and then build in front of it while it runs.
Does that method of splitting work well? It looks a lot more compact than the way I do it. I make branches coming off, going to other machines. Rather than a main belt, running perpendicular with splitters coming off in front of the input machines. Does that method work for more than two smelters?
7:35 Why I can't play this game. Look how many attempts it took to get that little combiner in the right place. The placement and alignment tools are a misery.
Love the format and tutorials as always. Watching in 4K on my LG C2OLED with TH-cam Premium, it seems the source bit-rate of the recording is a quite low (blocky, like as if in 720p). Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks for the heads up. I play in 4k on my TV so the source is 4k but edit in 1080 on my pc monitor so I must have missed it. I'll up the bitrate, should help going forward. Edit: yes, I just double checked and am still recording at 15 Mbps, which is appropriate for 2k but low for 4k. Ive bumped it to 50 so future 4k vids should be higher fidelity.
Interesting to see how others do things, for example i usually build with expansion in mind around a central bus that gets really high with every item on its own conveyor in the desert of course.
I struggled with this for a long time but decided to go for it. 1.0 could be a month away but is more likely closer to 6. With the way I play, I *should* be able to get through the game, or close, and then play with all the new 1.0 stuff when it releases.
Giving yourself enough room to work from the beginning? Heresy! In these, God's own lands, we build ourselves into a corner and rebuild the whole damn factory every time we add a new part!
stitched iron plate alternate + iron wire. the setup works with the default recipe + cast screws, just make screws instead of wire. Stitched plate makes more out of less iron though. This makes no sense, mtiplayer has nothing to do with the size of your character or the environment or the machines.
