I was thrown off for a second with the snowplow, but then I realized this sequence is in Detroit, As the squad cars he rams into say “Detroit Police.” This is likely the opening action scene establishing where Axel is, Paul Reiser’s Jeffrey, taking over as Captain since the death of Inspector Todd in the 3rd film. The last time we saw Jeffrey, he was kind of the guy who did everything Axel asked, and went along reluctantly with his antics. But here, he seems much authoritative. I think part of the dynamic with them, is how Jeffrey has matured, but Axel is the same, and that since Todd’s death was kind of his fault, It’s emotionally stunted him, similar to Maverick with Goose in Top Gun.
At worst there’s no way it’s worse than BHC3. You can’t top the first movie because the idea is best the first time but if it’s comparable to 2 I’m happy and if it’s better I’d consider it to be a home run. Ending the franchise on a better note than 3 is definitely a good thing though
I'm really looking forward to it's release. I'm a huge fan of the franchise. I'm sure Netflix will green light a 5th film if this does well. The Beetlejuice 2 trailer also dropped today. It has been a good day for 80s nostalgia, lol. The only thing missing was a trailer for the Alien Romulus film. Could've had the trifecta.😂
Definitely feels we're entering the era of nostalgia and reboots. I love all three Beverly Hills Cop movies, yes even the third one set in the Theme Park.
Great review mark. I'm hoping this film isn't a cheeseboard😂 My dad let me watch it when I was a kid on vhs in 1994, and that was the start of my love for Eddie Murphy. first film I think is the best, the music, the scenery and the freshness. Ahh take me back, love a bit of nostalgia.X
I bet you those 2 female cops arrested him for getting thrown through the glass lobby window. I also bet that one of the female cops probably told him to shut his yap while taking him to the police station 😂 Lastly, funnily enough Joseph Gordon Levitt came out with a better movie in 1994 called Angels in the outfield when he was a child then. Angels in the outfield was better received at the box office than Beverly Hills Cop 3 back in 1994.

I literally have to show my 16 year old son the first 3 it's not about it being like films made in 2024 it's about nostalgia
I used to love these movies in the 80's . I really hope I'm wrong in thinking that's where it should have stayed!!!

Yea, I don't know what a snow plow is doing in LA.

Thank you for mentioning JGL. 👍

React never let go 2024 ❤
Hi popcorn 🍿 Markie
Looking forward to this
Axel F is my all time favorite electro tune. It's the only tune I know how to play. 😄
The only thing is every time Eddie Murphy Talks all I think off is Donkey 😂😂😂
When they drive straight through the front door was kind of wild.
Eddie Murphy had his day…. Back in the day. He was funny then but the jokes/ innuendos now have been there done that!
