  • More than 100,000 participated in the all-night Liturgy and procession for the 100th anniversary of the Romanovs martyrdom. The people came from all corners of the world. The event began with the Divine Liturgy celebrated on the square in front of the Church on the Blood in Ekaterinburg, built on the site where the Ipatiev House once stood, where the family was murdered. The service was headed by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill with more than 35 hierarchs and multiple clergy concelebrating.
Following the Liturgy, the patriarch led the traditional Royal Cross Procession from the place of martyrdom of the holy Royal Martyrs and their servants to the Monastery of the Holy Royal Martyrs at Ganina Yama ravine, covering a distance of 21 km (13 miles).
According to tradition, the faithful carried banners and icons in the procession, including a 6.5-ft. icon of the Tsar-Martyr, painted in 2017 for the Church of the “Reigning” Icon of the Mother of God at Ganina Yama. Together with the kiot, the icon weighs 330 lbs. A special bier on wheels was made to move the heavy icon.
The procession was also accompanied by 25 mobile groups from an Orthodox charity service, consisting of clergy, representatives of the Dormition Orthodox Brotherhood of Ekaterinburg, sisters of mercy, and volunteers, who provided assistance to those who could not walk the entire route of the procession. Field kitchens and tests were also set up at the Monastery of the Holy Royal Martyrs for the pilgrims to rest.
His Holiness and the procession arrived at the monastery in the morning, where the patriarch served a moleben to the Royal Martyrs in front of the memorial cross erected at Mine #7, where the bodies of the Royal Martyrs were abused and disposed of. His Holiness Patriarch Alexei II (1929-2008) thus referred to Ganina Yama as “a living antimens, permeated with particles of the burnt holy relics.”

@Chrisanthi Panou I dont know the exactly story, but I think it wasnt Lenin, he would actually not have them executed. It was the local leader of the communist party that acted on his own, having heard rumours that a liberation force was on the outskirts of Jekaterinburg. There wasnt e-mail, Skype or even the phone there, back then. So he couldn’t have contacted Moscow and get instructions so he acted on his own. We forget the Tsar had it coming with his attitude, only interested about his family and not the russian people, nor seeing the Bolschevichs as a real threat. I’m NOT saying that they deserved it. This was a brutal thing from a brutal regime. I’m just saying the Tsar’s attitude had a contribution to the outcome, and when the Tsar had Russia enter WW1 that was the last drop for the Russian people that helped the communist party make a coup. The rest is history.

I've been loving Russia since I was 5, since I knew the story of Anastasia and her family.
Since then, I read everything I could to find out more about them. I collected photos and magazine articles that I found about them and now I am a Russophile. I have my home library full of books of the biographies and letters of the family in their last days.
I remember a very nice article from a magazine that they sell here in Spain.
I remember that the first Russian historian (Vladimir Ustimenko, a specialist in Marxism-Leninism who had been born in the previous system) who saw the photos of the family, expressed how he had a degraded image of the family because of the previous regime.
And I was very moved by what he said: "They don't look like the monsters we had been told in school for years that they were. In the photos they look like a peaceful family, very close to each other and very happy"
"When I saw their faces I knew that until then my whole life had been founded on a lie. You don't lie in privacy, faces don't lie"

Our book brings to light a multitude of unknown and unrevealed facts, which evince that many truths remain silenced or distorted to this day. If you like to learn more, you can visit our official website: www.romanovs.eu/en-book
In the pages of the book, the eye of the reader’s mind will be apprised of the portraits of the Romanov family's psyche, depicted with the colors of their very own words from the personal writings of the family and of those who lived very close to them.

I still cannot comprehend how people could be so cruel as to eradicate the entire family. And for what? They could have been exiled out of Russia. They needn't have met such a fate. And that nut job Lenin lived for only another what 6 years after the assassination? Madness 😠
    Now the Romanovs are saints😇

Am so glad for the out pour of love for the Adorable, Beautiful, lovely and religious Royal Family. From all I've read about them,I've come to the conclusion they did not commit any treasonable offence against Russia that warranted their brutal execution. Irrespective,of whatever their imperfections and mistakes. I feel for them but glad that the good people of Russia had decided to give them the honour, Reverence and love they rightly deserves. May their gentle souls continue to rest in perfect peace and in bossom of The Creator. Amen and Amen.

The murder of Romanovs was start the terrible Russian human rights violations. If the Tsar Nicholas II would rule the Russia more efficiently, he and his family would have been survived. However, I believe that the Imperial Tsar family will look the Russia from The Heaven and those terrible human rights violations which Putin are doing right now. Long life to the Tsar! Love for Romanovs from Finland!

Hello from Florida. This is beautiful and hopeful to watch. When facts are revealed and known, Russians do love the Czar Nicholas II, and his family, because the know that they are good loving people, and that they love their Russia and her people as much their people had love them then (not the evil people), and will continue to love them now, and in the future.
