      Christian Knight Look at my early videos from 2016. You’ll notice I also started with no budget and no fancy gear. You’re looking at 10+ years of music producing, 3+ years of entrepreneurship, and 3+ years of regularly posting life-changing content on TH-cam. There’s absolutely no need for trust funds when you have creative discipline, song placements, and your own business! 🤷🏼‍♂️

      Why do you use a laptop on the floor instead of a desktop pc? It’s makes for easier upgrading, like ram/memory space/ etc.

      @Jason75913 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      "buy test, return"
      online reviews and comparisons on forums are still a big help in the long run, and not just in music production at that

      @reemys.5696 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enjoyed the video. Great content! I only suggest a few things with number 4. It's a great idea to have the lap top cooled above the AC vent but I would also suggest to have it lifted above it maybe 12 inches or so to prevent any problems with your home's heating and cooling system. The pressurized air can back up into the ducts and cause problems if it isn't able to escape for long periods of time. It may also be good to place some sort of filter between the two to prevent the dust from the air ducts from damaging your laptop over time. I hope this is helpful. Take care buddy.

    When yall think studio equipment and being expensive you have to get things piece by piece you dont just by everything.. I look at it as some people spend a 500 a month on eating out clothes or whatever, like I do I sacrifice forget the clothes and ordering out save that get a native instruments keyboard that month next month grab beat machine there you go got a start sacrifice is all..

      Save for the bigger, more future proof purchases instead of falling for the consumerist cycle of work-buy-work-buy. Your goal should be to get to the point where you can honestly tell yourself "That's enough buying. I already have a great (x type of gear), I'm just craving the adrenaline rush of spending money and don't actually need a better piece of gear."

    The peltier chips that cool the Sony mic are about $2-3 each and could keep a lap top pretty cool, just in case your A/C breaks down (AliExpress has tons of them). I have to agree with the lighting tip, I can't play well under white lights compared to coloured lighting, it makes a world of difference.

    For budget home studio folks, look for used Panamax Home Theater Power Conditioners...much better value than "music" oriented ones and they are rack mountable. They normally cost a lot more than "music" ones when new but used, people don't know what to make of it so you can usually find a $400 one for $50.00-$100 and have way more features.

    Here's how I would do handle the multiple studio thing:
    - Have one room that's your main studio. Make sure it has a closet. Put your PC in that closet so you can put the most beefiest cooling systems without worrying about noise. This will act as your main PC.
    - Use low power PCs that can handle streaming on your other studios. Make sure it has the same number of monitors as your main studio. These will act as your remote PCs.
    - Use local remote access to access your main PC from your remote PCs
    It'll make recording and organization insanely seamless and would save you a bunch of money from having to purchase mutltiple music production capable set ups and into better gear or file reduduncy.

    this was one of the best home studio tour I've seen..... and the sad thing about it(in the very best way possible on Reid's part) was, it was done by a puppet, very good video Reid... but I have to say it kinda was a low key flex on em though lol... You could go back though and point out the things that you feel those that don't have that kind of budget could buy and keep - let's say their studio setup under 1500 - 2500 dollars so that the little guys can have some where to start before they go crazy trying to copy or think they have to mimic your exact setup.

    macs are known to overheat. LOLs. I recently bought used 2013. Don't forget to open the bottom case and blow out the fans with canned air from the fan fins. Also probably repaste the heatsink with artic silver thermal paste. Overheat of the laptop could protentially messed up your screen with staingate. I hope apple has fixed that in the newer models. Also careful with buying screw drivers from ebay. They strip the screws. Pay more for the better quality screw drivers so they don't strip the macs screws. lesson learned these past weeks of messing with them.

    Air-conditioning went and the laptop is such a no go, since it introduces humidity to the system, not much, but enough to mess up the computer in the long run.

      been using the AC vent for three consecutive years with no humidity damage yet. I’ve only experienced great speed and performance boosts 🤷🏼‍♂️

      The indoor refrigeration coil will pull the moisture out of the air so the air hitting the laptop will be dry
