The c800 is by far the most expensive thing he’s got in there. and barely any hardware for processing. But yeah it could be I was just trying to be conservative lol. Either way I’ve never seen a cooler apartment in my life.

Karra uses one desk while I use the other. We're constantly switching rooms depending on what we're working on each day. We used to have a 3rd setup for an assistant in my 2019 studio tour, but nobody comes over anymore in 2020

The original designer/owner got into a lawsuit with the company that sold them on amazon and that was the end of that. And than multiple companies figured out a way to sell them anyway and there everywhere now just not that exact type. The country journal wrote about it

Did you choose to not have your monitors connected to the argosy desk thru their attachments? I have read that having them disconnected to desk is more beneficial and was curious about your opinion! Thanks for all your work on here Reid! ✌🏼
They’re over the weight capacity of the built in desk stands. You need floor stands for 60lbs speakers

Did you set it up or did someone help you? what kind of mouse are you using that is lightweight? what brand of hub was that? Are you a dj too? Where do you dj? Yo Reid. These LED Trees are available in german hardware stores like "Hornbach" or "Poco" all over christmas :-) i hope it helps you.

Thanks for the tour Reid....has anyone out there experienced a hum in their powered monitors when using a TB hub and a UAD Arrow? TB hub received MBP charger and then connects to two TB ports, the Arrow into a separate designated TB port. Cables are balanced. Any suggestions.

Reid!!! Super inspired by the idea of keeping the computer in another room, but one thing. How are you connecting the apollo x6 to your Mac Pro via thunderbolt when the max cable length is 6ft?? Thats the one device I can't quite seem to think of a work around for in terms of finding a big enough cable to keep everything connected to a computer in another room. Is there some magic super long thunderbolt 3 cable in that cable coil?? lol thank you
Great question I use two UAD satellite boxes because they double as thunderbolt cable extenders when used in daisy chain. You can see the UAD satellite box on the floor near the door in the studio and the 2nd satellite is in the hallway by the computer. They allow me to combine the length of three 6’ cables

What kind of cabling are you running to get your computer that far away from your desk? Is it all going over Thunderbolt or are you using something else?
Great! question I’m thunderbolt daisy chaining UAD octo boxes together out the door to combine the length of multiple 3’ thunderbolt cables to reach out the room! I also got 25’ hdmi cables to reach the computer monitors to the desktop out the room
What do you put in your ssds? Only your projects or libraries or plugins?

Everybody rocking apollos and soundgrid for antares and waves tune effects. Is it possible to use a non dsp audio interface for live performance and recording? I only use autotune and reverb that's it.

HOW are you connecting the x8 to the Mac Pro over such a long distance with Thunderbolt 3??? Only thing I can find online is to daisy chain TB3 docks
Daisy chaining 2 UAD Octo Satellite boxes allows me to combine the length of 3 thunderbolt cables out the door 🔥 and it gives me 16 cores for UAD Processing

You use a windows computer with ableton? how does that work for you? Im looking to potentially upgrade my macbook pro 15" 2015 for a new one but a new macbook pro is hecka expensive.
I only use my windows computer for Whole Loops product compatibility testing, windows related customer service, and playing call of duty online. Apple for everything else

UA plug-ins or waves for vocal sauce? I have all the waves and missing a few of the UAD plugins :-)
mmmhh U I don’t see anything on TH-cam about it. There is a a couple videos about his waves vocal sauce and Universal Audio vocal sauce but nothing going into depth about which one out of the two sauces have the best sound.
All you need from UAD to do vocals: LA-2A, Distressor, Pultec and/or Maag EQs, pretty much any unison channel strip (I like the API channel strip but pretty much any of them work). Get good tone/saturation/level in the channel strip. Use the LA2A with a fast attack/release to capture transients and the distressor with slower settings and lower ration to smooth it out. EQ to taste

razer blades are NOT guaranteed to work with UA Apollo!! just sold mine bc of crackles and pops with my apollo twin mk 2
thats strange, i've surprisingly had great experience with my razer and UAD. Its listed on their website as one of the 4 tested + approved windows devices with thunderbolt
Thanks for sharing! I know it is sorta personal to ask, but, I can't help but notice that you have a house that is pretty much your entire studio. Does YT alone allow you to afford this? I ask because sometimes I play around with the idea of maybe pushing harder, be cool if that is something that is totally possible with doing something like this :). Just ignore if you prefer not to say :).

I use to be interested in making video games (I have a computer science degree) but now work as a software engineer and want to get into music composition and would love to get into making music for games. Eric Hampton its awesome work but it’s extremely specific and rare. you need a manager here in Los Angeles who personally knows those established few Tv and video game producers. It’s not something I could have done by myself. I hustled for the right personal connections and built a team around me
