Fantasia has always been the most honest, vulnerable, emotionally perfect artist and I am truly so so so happy she is finally getting her due...long overdue! She is possibly the most authentic woman in Hollywood.
I love the FACT that Fantasia has risen and blossomed into the beautiful person that we are seeing and hearing from today. She is a testimony of strength for all of us, Black, White, Asian, whatever, that if you believe in yourself, if you continue to KNOW your value, you will succeed. I also love the fact that Oprah, had the wisdom to pull her back into the film because she knew that the women of this world needed to see Fantasia as she is now.

Even though I cannot *understand * on the level of woman of color, I can relate to the emotion and feeling and message of this powerful song. Every word that is sung has me hanging on to it. And the way Fantasia puts her whole soul into it is really what makes it so emotional 🙏🏻
That last scene was so powerful in so many ways from the forgiveness to families reunited and even how in her forgiveness for him that it was not restoration of the romantic relationship. I can definitely see how it could be healing and how relatable that song was that she sang before that last scene. I believe she was in her place of business. I went to see the movie on Christmas day and I could hear the black women around me being moved and releasing their pain. I was sobbing lol and I left feeling so inspired. Fantasia deserves an Oscar! 💜

I love Fantasia and I've met her and she is so lovely and strong. I know what she means by having to tap into her grandmother. My ex passed 2 years ago a retired Marine. He was the love of my life even though we weren't together anymore we had a deep love for each other. He was also a musician and I'm a singer. So, I am currently learning a song to pay tribute to him. I will ALWAYS find a way to pay tribute to him. Pretty hard to get through the song I keep crying but I'm gonna get through it and record that song and post it on his anniversary. His birthday is next month so tough couple of months. Tough life without him but i know he wouldnt want me to stay in the dark. He would want my light to shine bright. When I first saw that scene that Fantasia spoke of, I was marveled at how Celine could forgive her abuser and be able to sit at the same table with him and laugh and be merry. I turned to my sister and I said ‘how? How does she forgive someone that put her through so much heartache and pain? How can she smile in his pre scenes?’ Celine (and yes I know she is a fictitious character) must have a powerful heart. SHe is the strongest of the strong. She is pure. Forgiveness is HARD. I am 40 and still hold the pain in my heart for what happened to me over 25 years ago. Idk how to forgive. Idk how to let it go. But I felt those powerful words in the song ‘I’m here’ and that, that right there has stuck with me.
Fantasia is phenomenal, she is literally a jewel for us all. I thank God for this woman, her transparency, her vulnerability, and her being the staple for us all man and women of color 🤙🏾🙏🏾💪🏾.

When I first saw that scene that Fantasia spoke of, I was marveled at how Celine could forgive her abuser and be able to sit at the same table with him and laugh and be merry. I turned to my sister and I said ‘how? How does she forgive someone that put her through so much heartache and pain? How can she smile in his pre scenes?’ Celine (and yes I know she is a fictitious character) must have a powerful heart. SHe is the strongest of the strong. She is pure. Forgiveness is HARD. I am 40 and still hold the pain in my heart for what happened to me over 25 years ago. Idk how to forgive. Idk how to let it go. But I felt those powerful words in the song ‘I’m here’ and that, that right there has stuck with me.
