Can't support Oprah knowing how evil she really is remember LeBron has school does she nope
Do you actually research and seek truth when making a basis for hating someone you don't know
Oprah don't even care about you. Go use your time wisely on something more productive.
This is damage control for Oprah. Doesn’t even seem authentic. It’s awkward. Team Taraji
Taraji blink twice if you need help
DAMAGE CONTROL 😅 AT ITS FINEST !!!
I commented the same thing before I saw yours. Smh 🙄
I left the business after the 2000s and definitely know this is a stunt to change the public perspective 💯 Oprah like to bamboozle the public.....
This was before the comment. 👩
Taraji is sad rn and dealing with something much deeper than “Oprah” and the “color purple” keeping her in my prayers
You think so?
I agree, I'm looking at her eyes, she looks sad to me, they are not bright at all. Hollywood can be mean when you speak up. I hope she is ok. I know she went away for a while to Bali I think to clear her head etc. Maybe other stuff is going on.
You can tell with the energy. I've observed this a while ago and even before the Oprah thing. I just don't know what exactly. But something feels off...
@@AngelasTravelAdventures 🙄🤣🤣
It’s actually been going on for a while now
Don't fall this stunt to make the public believe everything is well...... Oprah is trying to convince the public her relationship with Taraji is excellent 🧐 Taraji is not happy with the production team and studio 💯
Speak your "TRUTH" Taraji! 🔥💯❤️🙏🏾
"It's like, whatever God has for you, you can't run from it" Amen and Amen. So powerful.
Amen. Love it.
OPRAH FAKE! 😂💀
How you know?
She’s a Boomer.
I LOVE OPRAH ❤and ALWAYS WILL ❤❤❤❤❤
Not much resonant energy here unfortunately.
Verrrrry little
Interesting how the movie broke box office records week 1, but in week 2 it barely made 5mill & dropped to 7th place after all those vids from Taraji made the rounds. For a movie thet cost 90mil to make & another 40 mil to market, not good. Regardless of this interview or the damage control being done, Taraji's pain resonated with her fans & those box office numbers could be the result. Gotta take care of your people so their people take care of you cuz the public gets the last say at the theatre. 🤷♀️
Well the movie actually made 54 million dollars so far but cost over 100 mill. So hopefully the movie can re recuperate the budget back to the studios. Otherwise no one from the film won't be getting no Oscar nominations for the film.
In my opinion not to be mean or start drama, but the movie isn't doing well because of word of mouth. It was said that people were walking out when Celie and Shug kissed. Many people didn't read the book watch the original, or play so they didn't know, and the new version made people upset. I know a rapper who complained that he took his little girls and had to walk out because of the kissing scene. Honestly, who asked for a Color Purple remake?
The ignorance of black people ruined the movie. You have people like Boosie saying he walked out of the movie because of a lesbian kiss. People saying that musical sucks. People saying they do not like Oprah. People saying that there was no need to do a remake. Those are the things that interfered with the movie.
@@1_Bran_Bran The movie pandered to LGBTQIA and liberals, why would anyone of sound mind waste their money on a lesbian love story, black or not? Hollywood has decided to make black people the face of the LGBTQIA, it's weird, and we don't have to support that, and folks can't make us support it, and Boosie has every right to walk out the theatre. He wanted to take his black daughters to a movie, to see women that looked like them, not have them watch a lesbian story.
@@bohwe43 did you not read the book?
I enjoyed the interview. I love Taraji, she's absolutely phenomenal. This lady has nothing but talents. I saw the color purple and it was great. Love the whole cast.❤❤
I remember watching Oprah's very first show and I was so impressed as a kid that over the years I overlooked all the "other" stuff. Taraji looks sad and I feel for her. Oprah WAS a great one but now, I really don't know...
People change overtime
Oh, stop! You’re another bandwagon rider. What has Oprah done????? You are just listening to mess and believing it. Sadly, the mess comes from envious black women. Sad.
Huh.. Taraji is a grown woman.. I just replied to another comment and ask, that’s the first thing that come to your mind after watching this? Like seriously?
@@SB-jt1ur yeah seriously! That woman could do no wrong on my eyes since the beginning of time and as as long as I can remember! However, she’s a real disappointment these days and it’s sad.
@@se_me1756 that’s just it, a mess! Since when did Oprah get so messy?
I loved The Color Purple. I felt like I'd just enjoyed a Broadway Musical. The actresses and actors were phenomenal. I hate that people like Taraji feel they were undercompensatedTaraji is worth her weight in gold. I hate that she was paid $500,000 which reduces to $250,000 per the IRS; then she has to pay her team 30% of 500,000 which leaves her with $100,000... that sucks! She gave a million dollar performance. You go girl! Maybe next time she'll be paid her worth.
Hi Sabina,
I watched one of those gossip videos yesterday on TH-cam, and the female voice said that Taraji received $500,000 for The Color Purple. Now, I know that those videos aren’t research based, but my college degrees are, so I searched and found that Taraji was offered $100,000 for her role in The Color Purple, and after negotiations, Taraji received $150,000. The Color Purple, so far, has generated $55 million. However, after Taraji complained about her salary, Oprah has been criticized for Taraji’s salary, and the movie has taken financial losses since Taraji spoke publicly. The movie is in the red now, not the black, as it began. Furthermore, Oprah has nothing to do with the salaries. ☝🏽👩🏽🦱
@@thinktank4768 That article was talking about her salary for Benjamin Button a movie she did in 2008. She said she asked for $500,00 for the role but was paid $150,00. Her salary for The Color Purple hasn't been disclosed.
@@annzeeg4217 Yes she disclosed it herself: 500,000 minus 250,000 to the IRS, then 30% of 500,000 to her team who helped her get the job totals 150,000 to them. Leaving her with $100,000 which is not enough to do much with and way below what she deserves. I didn't make up these figures. Taraji detailed them in her interview. I just did the math and it's not fair. Whoever is responsible for her low pay rate is also responsible for the movie not doing well at the box office. I'm not defending Oprah because I personally have had an encounter with Oprah and she was extremely rude to me. I did nothing to her. I was a guest on her show and she treated me with great indifference without cause. She is not the angel you think she is. She has clout and could have fought for the actors and actresses to get payment that was commensurate to their contributions to the success of the movie.
@@thinktank4768 Get more information before defending Oprah because she doesn't care.

Some of these comments are funny. Why do people talk about these celebrities like they know them personally.
PAY BLACK WOMEN A FAIR WAGE😡😡😡
So cool! Feeling ready is really important, 😊
Damage control..... Oprah has lost huge ticket sales and her fan base because she has too many accudations she hasnt cool nfrinted between last year and this new year. No ones having what shes serving and its getting worse. Was she ever authentic or has it always been about money and power at all cost?
Proud Mary!!! I'm from Boston; that movie holds a special place in my heart. I hope nah I pray our sisters get paid like the champions they are. U.S. Womens Soccer team... I'm just saying
$500,000 isn’t chump change. That’s how much Taraji received for The Color Purple.
☝🏽👩🏽🦱🇺🇸

@@thinktank4768 They deserve more, I said what I said and did not mention Oprah. This is beyond this movie.
@@Elligy617
Prior to this issue, I knew nothing about the acting industry, so I read that the median income for actors is (only) $55,000, and I understand that Taraji deserves a lot more pay than $150,000 a film, but Oprah had nothing to do with the budget for this film. Warner Bros did. 👩🏽🦱🇺🇸
@@Elligy617 Most people are underpaid and want a raise. Teachers are underpaid and want a raise. Taraji’s not alone. However, no one complained about their salary in The Color Purple except her. Oprah was only paid $35K when she was in the movie. Did she or Fantasia and complain? No! She and Oprah were grateful for the opportunity. Taraji’s public cry for a raise a week after the movie hit the screen damaged its sales. Prior to that they were winning. Let’s see how many Black or White producers will allow Taraji to damage their movie.
I agree these women should get pay more money

I don't trust Oprah at all. This interview was taped last week. The fact that Taraji didnt show up at the Golden Globes and Gayle had to take her place last night speaks volumes. Smart folks know that Taraji only did this to prevent from being blackballed.
You’re not smart, you’re messy and envious-and projecting.
Stop creating drama between these successful black women. And stop hating on Oprah. Envy is ugly.
Some of you are pathetic. Some Black women are black womens worst enemy! A disgrace.
What has Oprah done to you? You’re just a follower, hopping in the hate train. A bunch of bandwagon thinkers.
And Taraji wasn’t nominated for her role. Fantasia and Danielle were-- and Gayle attends nearly every event with her best friend. What are you talking about?????
But why? Let it be an issue when they say it’s one.. and if it is, it’s between them.. and why not trust Oprah.. what has she done to you? Like seriously, that’s the comment you chose after watching this? That’s the first thing that came to your mind? 🤦🏽♀️
And Taraji was just celebrating her EMMY nomination 2 days ago for Abbott Elementary.
@@se_me1756 Taraji was supposed to sit in the chair Gayle was sitting at at the ceremony and no Gayle does not go everywhere Oprah goes. That's a lie
A class act. I am so happy to see this interview.
BigO subservient posture reflects contemporaneous bipedal animal husbandry.
The ending...She was a very powerful woman cause she saved herself❤👏🏾👏🏾
This movie failed to address major issues within the film itself. The role of Mr.
The racism of miss milly. Just throw some music ontop of it and collect the money. 😂
I watched Proud Mary very good film.
Oprah probably said to Traraji “You better clean up the mess you made”
Listening to the interview about Shug, Avery Taraji expressed herself because that’s how I see her as an Overcomer you are a phenomenal black woman and never I mean never let no one take that away from you always put God first
Taraji is a treasure! Oprah you need to show you are real this time. I have so much respect or you but if you get her blackballed like Monique then now we will know who you are.
Monique wasn't blackball her husband keeps getting her fired
@@annzeeg4217 Unless her husband is Lee Daniels, who told her that, you're ignorant and sadly mistaken.
@@OneLoveRSRWell, Will Packer and Whoopi Goldberg told her that her husband was her problem. Look it up. Monique has basically been fired from everything she's done since he started managing her career. She was fired from a radio and a talk show before she even got to Precious. An Will Packer hired her after she claimed she was blackballed to do a three picture deal but ended it after he got tired of dealing with her husband. Read the email Monique released herself. He told her that someone at that level in her career should have better representation and said he would no longer communicate with her husband, only her attorney. Read the email. Y'all just go with Monique's version of things when you really need to read the fine print
@@annzeeg4217 Great! I'm addressing what was in your original statement. LEE DANIELS told her she was blackballed -- not her husband.
Oprah explained that she is not the one dealing with the cast pay it's warner brothers she had to negotiate her pay as a producer.
That's B.S Oprah pulled strings to have Taraji cast but she can't pull strings to have a pay increase for her?
Oprah worth 4 billion dollars. I'm sure she could have paid her more out of pocket
@@SparkleInYourEyes2024 She actually did because of Oprah...The Color Purple is the highest budget black film in history! Warner Brothers wanted to give them $35million but because of Oprah they got $100million...

I’m sorry but Taraji ruined the momentum of this films release with her complaining.
Yeah why would she even take on the project if your not gonna get top earnings from it. I like Taraji a lot I really do but her complaining about equal pay and not getting a driver to drive her on set is ridiculous. Yes is the only billionaire that's a part of the film. This is the interview that I imagined not the one where she tears a sister down and acts like she's a victim while assassinating her sister in such an ugly way, Oprah is an institution she carries the weight of the people she's so magnanimous in her giving back and charitable heart, if she asked me to be a part of this kind of history I would do it for free because the reward is greater than any paycheck that I could ever receive. Sisterhood and Sisterly love always ❤️ 💖 💕
The cast and crew should be paid and treated fairly and equal to that of Hollywood standards, which clearly wasn’t the case for this film. You should be ashamed trying to shame Taraji for fighting for adequate treatment.
She should be ashamed. Taraji and her team should have negotiated a better deal. Don't accept the deal,do the role and then whine about your salary. Oprah does not pay the cast out of her personal fortune.
Get real and get some self-respect. Oprah is a human just as Taraji is. This has absolutely nothing to do with "sisterhood." If that was the case, Oprah would've made sure her "sisters" were already taken care of so they wouldn't have to ask for what they deserve. This is work, not the playground. Glad Taraji knows her worth.
@@p.merle7-11 I’m not only talking about pay. Apparently Taraji had to fight for adequate transportation to set and food for between takes. There’s no excuse for Warner Bros to treat the cast that poorly
