    Not only is there a battle for squad space, but also for materials. Even whales will only be able to farm SSS so much over time and max out so many modules. I'm reasonably certain, in fact, that it is impossible to max out every single module. And even ignoring SSS, not everyone will be able to afford the sanity cost of upgrading all of their operators. For instance, I still have Angelina's S2 on my I'm Gonna M3 This One Day I Promise list! I can't afford it because there's just so much else I need to prioritize!

      This. I have so many operators that I want to raise but even when I spend every single possible currency on refresh I still barely manage to get 1 M3 skill or E2 per 2 weeks. So I have to priorities meta and good operators instead

      Same. At this rate Angie will be forever M3 because why would I ever M3 her S2 in her current state?
      Hell, why would I ever use Angelina when Gnosis exists? His S3 is far superior to her S2 for utility AND he can attack during his skill downtime.
      Angie's HP regen is also too small to matter. If I need team-wide HP regen, Perfumer or using the Abyssal Hunters are a way better utility pick.

      @@Spectacular_Insanity Angie's teamwide HP regen is bigger than Perfumer's ever will be without accounting for skills. Also, she brings more to the table than just pure heals, which means that if you don't need stronger direct heals in your squad, Angelina does the job quite well. Unlike Perfumer, healing is a part-time job for Angie -- it goes offline when she's actually doing things, and that could matter.
      Also, mentioning An Entire Literal Squad is kind of unfair when you're talking about a single operator.
      You are, sadly, correct about Gnosis. There could be niche applications where Angelina's viable and Gnosis isn't, but in general... yeah. Much as I'm loathe to admit it.

    There have been some success stories with modules: passenger and mostima got solid buffs to their usability, and the summoners got easier to use for an average player.
    But also, I think the 'buffing groups of units within the same subclass' design set was wrongheaded from the start. Personally, I think modules should have been closer to interludes/rank up quests in Fate/Grand Order, and actually directly changed or upgraded skills, rather than being this weird mix of passive upgrades and trait upgrades, and been personally tailored to each unit. That way, they could directly address units who had problems, rather than being forced to buff units who really don't need the help.

      I mean, there is no reason why the upgrades could not be tailored to fit the unit in the subclass anyway. Like you said, Passenger (and all chain-casters) got a very nice buff, and Summoners as a whole were raised to better/easier to use levels.
      Still, at the end of the day, it is a gacha game. I have Siege as one of my only 6* Vanguards, and thus I will keep using her, and I will welcome her module once it releases to Global.

    How about what the module system did to Reed?
    Step 1: Give a certain other charger vanguard, Bagpipe, 2 dp on kill, on or off skill, removing Reed's already narrow niche.
    Step 2: Give Reed a faster attack speed after getting hit with arts damage, making tanking arts damage her only applicable niche.
    Step 3: Realize every other operator in this niche does it better than her.
    Step 4: Do nothing about it.

      Though to put a bit of a finer point on it I do think you are somewhat overstating the part that meta plays in what people choose to bring in terms of operators. The fact that people still bring guard Ch'en despite Ch'en alter being a thing is proof enough of that.

      ​@@ryanli5803 A month ago, I genuinely thought CN's next alter was going to be Siege until they did Texas. If they keep to the pattern, the next 6* alter isn't until Anniv-- which means probably another Abyssal Hunter/Aegirian, unless SN was the last of the Iberian Bloodborne arc.
      Assuming they keep to the pattern, Siege alter isn't probable until a year from now. Wild guess: It's a version of her after she's taken the throne, and her release coincides with the arc's last chapter.

      @bird9412 Is Andreana really absent in the story? I feel she's the most likely of the hunters we currently have, just by process of elimination. Both Kal and Gladiia are 6*s who rank well in the current meta, unlike Skadi and Ch'en way back when.
      Expanding it to Aegirians at large, I kinda wanna see Deepcolor or Cuora be given makeovers.

    As someone who loves and uses Siege a LOT as a prime Vanguard, yeah I feel this immensely. Granted she is HEAVILY implied to be getting an Alter sometime soon, but it doesn't change the fact that she is a character who NEEDS something big to make her feel like she has her place.

      I don't see how alternate characters validates leaving the original versions as they are. Especially since Hypergryph just loves making said alters either limited or event-exclusive rewards.
      Siege's biggest issue is the fact that neither of her unique skills actually support her role as a vanguard that well. Second skill needs enemies to hit (and in a large wave, to generate more SP on E2), which is counterproductive to vanguards that you want to unload early to build the team when the enemies are a slow trickle. Her third skill makes her just a meh guard. The damage is large, but it's single target and slow. That's kind of unacceptable when her stats outside of the skills usage are nothing special for a guard. If it at least included some chip DP generation, we could then consider her having some area, but right now, she's only particularly good for maps with a literal flood of fodder (like the tumors) due to her second skills true AoE.

    Reed's module broke my heart, and I truly, truly fear the day they make absolutely useless Carnelian or Frostleaf modules. Modules died as a concept of 'buffing units' when they did Reed so dirty

      That'd make her too broken imo or it would push HG to make stupid counters like more 9999 weight enemies. Honestly, I just wished the talent upgrades were swapped. Her best module is defo the SP-gen when enemies are in her range module but I wish the passive on that was the double passive healing coz that makes it the best of both worlds. Makes her into Skalter-lite and Eyja-lite into 1 compact unit. Or you can also go the route of actually making the +atk speed she gives relevant. A paltry +5 extra if a unit is in her range for a total of +12 (max pot) is so fucking irrelevant. Also since Ange's charging mechanic exists, the slow-increase module is instantly trash on her. Great for a unit like Istina who constantly attacks on/off skill but not Ange. Honestly, we're past the point where Ange even needs to charge. Just remove her charging mechanic and let her normal attack while off-skill.

      @@harukonoe4248 I was initially thinking maybe she can -1 weight to enemy she attacks so u can get a total of -2 weight with s3 but after realizing weedy exists and testing what she can do to a weight 4 it might be a bit op for weight 6 bosses
      Tested weedy on w cuz she’s weight 5 and bosses like patriot is a 7 weight -2 is 5 w flew back .5 of a tile so maybe her module can be
      the first second of Angelina’s skill being activated -1 weight to all enemies in range so it can only happen whenever her skill is activated and her cd would be her skill being active and having to charge the skill
      It honestly wouldn’t be absurdly broken as to use this skill effectively u need a good map and a few push or pull operators and at that point u can just use meta units like kal’tsit who can deal like 3k true damage to kill the boss it’ll give content creators some fun as well
      I like the idea of being skalter and eyja tho

    (And Angelina was my second e2 6*, so the fact that she's falling into irrelevance makes me pretty sad. I only bring her out when I'm dealing with healer bans and want to pretend that my casters don't exist)

      @@DisIngRaM I don't think HG fix musha, but they really bring hellagur back to the meta roaster. Like, that +130 ASPD on 50% HP is so fucking crazy. 2,6 ASPD per 1% HP lost is just crazy. And don't forget they give all musha Shelter effect.

    I've been telling you. There are 2 teams making the module. One of them is filled with actual human being who knows and plays the game, and the other one is an office room filled with a bunch of cats with keyboard as a floor.
    But for real, I honestly don't know what good Ange module would be. One idea I have is "grants 1 shield to all allies in range(all deployed allies on T3 module) when activating skill."
    The idea was she got really good at controlling gravity that she can nullify enemy attack.

      @@mochithepooh5368 Gladiia's 1st talent buffs Abyssal hunters, it buffs them in two different ways, but it's still just buffing abyssal hunters.
      Angelina's talents are a heal when skill is deactivated and a permanent attackspeed boost, I'd expect either of the module upgrades to keep to at least one of those traits- maybe you could stretch it to do something when the skill *finishes* with her Part-time job talent, but I think that'd be a stretch.

      If you want to go the boring way, is to remove the "skill not activated" requirement for her passive healing, which is good...until you look at other people's module. Or buff her aspd talent to +10, additional +15 for allies in range (during when skill is active)
      The fact that her talent is global but also really boring makes it hard to balance. Because if you buff it too little, it would good but really "meh", but if you buff it too much, it would broke a lot stuff.

    Although Dusk's 2nd module makes her niche a lot more fun to use it is still very rare for me to think to use Dusk on difficult stages. Stultifera Navis's Reefbreakers were enemies Dusk's skill 3 shined for though.

    Tbf, the talent upgrade for Angelina is super useful for that one stage with the 4 omega defender dudes, where the secret challenge is to keep them all alive.

    Another reason why i hate module system is others get significant buffs while others is just mid or downright shit but they literally cost the same 💀.
    Also the fact that some ops are not the same char before and after their modules and they are still not even 1 year old operators 🤣.
    I wish HG stop being stingy with buffs and just put it in the operator in question directly(I mean 80% of our current modules are just literally like this "tier" kind of buff) and save the module system for something unique like what the others got.

    Honestly this problem of having a huge power difference between operators existed before the module system got introduced , because the keep adding busted 6* ops which makes other older 6* look pointless to use , like I keep convincing myself that bringing Rosa (a proud m3 S3 enjoyer) to my squad is a good idea so I can kill high defence enemies but why bring her when you can just bring Chalter and not only kill the high defence enemies but kill all the enemies with a single press of a button , it also reached to the point where even really good 6* are getting replaced like Silverash , I really wish that they just tone down the releases of busted 6* or make them like have a long charge up time , if this keep going there really isn't a point in bringing other ops if they aren't as good as the busted ones .

      Yeah not a fan of the direct power creep HG has been doing for a while. As a non PVP gacha game you dont need to push power creep units to sell them (and in ideal world PVP games should be all about balance but that is never the case in gacha). Just produce more niche but fun operators that do all sorts of shenanigans that pair well with specific playstyles. Thats all you need to do (Dorothy as a example). Not broken nonsense that outright replaces a core operator and turns them into a niche one: Mlynar vs SA. Thankfully SA works as heli drop and can see invisible units, plus his second talent is also decent. So he still has a place in the game, but its without question that Mlynar takes over as the "schwink schwink, die die" guy.
      Same with Ling, who replaces all the summoners. Sure you can do some quirky stuff with Magalan, or use scene for invisible enemies but... Big dragon that has 3x the HP of Mudrock go brrr~
      Modules should be working to amend a specific gaping weakness a character has, not just add more of the useless.

      Thats why you bring uhh... Any other guard than silverash or thorns
      Because its boring using an "woo instant delete button" and then "time to use another delete button while the other one recharges"

    They should have done something similar to the rogue like for Angelina's module. Like "When skill is activated, deals damage equal to 2% of the targets max hp" type of thing. It's not like she had too much for herself

    Siege's 2nd module will have a -DP cost for first deployment, right? In some levels, the only thing keeping me from making Siege my only vanguard or sticking to her 3rd skill is because of her high DP cost, so...maybe? useful?
    and it'll interact with her 2nd talent, which means either more SP/kill, or SP gen when specific other units kill, or /copium becomes SP battery
    Well, I hope it's something fun

    I mean I still use Angelina and find her useful. I just think other characters are overtuned rather than her being undertuned.
    Take Ejia, she basically powercreeps all AOE mages by being a single target mage that can fill both niches. And can pretty much do what Angelina does but better.
    Or any ranged Guard, Thorns basically powercreeps half the roster by existing.
    The one thing I do find Angelina really useful for is Emnity knights though. Since Skalter can only cover a limited range, Angelina can serve as a healer and can chip enemies down for Mudrock, Hellagur and Akafuyu. Also she is great if you wanna do pushing and pulling shenanigans. But otherwise yeah.

    the idea behind sieges module is good since shes so stat relient but the stat increase is like the bare minimum it should have been 13% for all vanguards and extra 13% for siege

    For what it's worth, I still use Siege sometimes. Mostly because I don't have Bagpipe yet and I'm too poor / stubborn to E2 Saga. If I need a third vanguard after Texas and Myrtle (or I can't use Myrtle cuz I need to block early enemies), I pick Siege.

    Was this video made for me specifically? Angelina and Siege were my first 6 Star Operators from the beginner banner (I don't do Rerolls in gacha). And while I love them and used them for a while to clear content, they really just don't get the kind of love from the devs that they deserve

    Honestly man? As much as I am on the side of "AK is PvE" and a very casual player, I agree with your sentiments regarding modules. I mean, HG has proven with the Abyssal Hunter mods that they can actually place some competent upgrades on operators, so why can't the others have it? Hell Siege not having synergy with Dagda and Indra is a fcking missed opportunity.
    And Angie, she's amazing and will always be (for me at least), but I feel like her modules don't even warrant anything that make them worth getting. Would've been nice to see additional ASPD for Supporters aside from her general ASPD buff, so at the very least she gets synergy with Supporterknights (Gnosis in particular with his freeze). IDK. The Balancing in the game do be weird. XD

      there's this system call "balance change" where you can either buff, nerf, or both (rework)
      Releasing more modules with (seemingly) super boring farming stages for module isn't gonna do it
      With HG's reputation so far? Nothing is gonna change, I would love to be wrong though
      There's also this trend where only popular operator got reasonable buff, so uhh... interesting

    I have this habit where every game I touch tends to go down a very dark path the further I get into it and Arknights is no exception. I joined when Angelina and Siege were actually relevant and now, I have no desire to build Angelina because Gnosis does what I want her for (some slow and multi-target arts damage), but better. I don't even have Saga but I just stick to Flagpipe and Texas when I need vanguards because they generate DP so quickly. HG's balancing has gone off the rails recently and they've just been making good operators even better and bad operators just mildly better. I won't say that they have an Abyssal Hunters bias but there's some weird choices that they've been making with them. Obviously, they couldn't lower the effect of Gladiia's trait for her module but maybe they should've made it for Elite Enemies and Seaborn or Bosses and Seaborn?
    It feels like HG just throws a needle at a dart board to find out how massive the buffs are and I want to know their thought process as to why certain operators have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to modules like Ebenholz, Siege, Angelina and Artillerymen in general, while other operators seemingly just get massive buffs that make the more broken than they already are, Bagpipe specifically. We've gotten some pretty good Rags to Riches stories with Passenger and Guard Skadi but in most cases, modules are just kind of a waste.
    I have a theory that HG will be releasing third modules for six stars to fill out the "XYZ" thing they have going. Maybe this is just me being high on copium for operators that I want and want to use but won't get their time in the spotlight because of how poorly HG designed their kit but I dunno.

      The problem with modules is that they can’t change skills when that is often the problem with a character. Like for Siege, a module can’t fix the fact that she can’t make DP with S2 if she can’t attack or that S3 doesn’t make DP at all. They could lean more into damage like they ended up doing but Mountain’s existence has basically killed Pioneer Vanguards for anything other than generating DP along with other utility like Saga’s SP feeding or Texas stuns. So even more damage isn’t going to make Siege or any other Pioneer worth using over Mountain unless it is such a ludicrous amount that they powercreep him and a bunch of other guards.
      I also think that people put too much stock into the “bad operators” thing. Even the worst six stars are still better than the four and five stars and even though the new operators are getting stronger the game isn’t really getting harder which is what would make you replace your old operators. Heck even the latest CC, normally the toughest content in the game, has been so easy that there have been multiple solo operator week one R18 clears with both meta operators like Texas Alter and Pozy but also less meta operators like Dorothy. And the max risk clears are still using good old SilverAsh despite Myłnar existing. This game just isn’t hard enough for it to matter who you bring to a stage unless you either go for very high risks in CC or challenge yourself by limiting what operators you are allowed to use, neither of which are scenarios HG’s balancing team really cares about.

      Thorns E2 60 seems to play differently than Thorns E2 90 when S3M3 is the constant, probably because it's harder for him to solo that way

      @@cdslice1869 You won't see Młynar replacing Silverash in a lot of content because he's not powercreeping Silverash in the first place. He's just a bigger burst with some additional synergy bonuses with Kazimierz. He loses out on consistency (in attack and blocking) and requires more time before he's in full gear initially. You especially cannot use him for helidrop over several points of a map, like you can use Silverash for.

      @@AquaticIdealist Yes, my Thorns and Blaze cannot solo lane without support in high difficulty map. Stuck in lvl 55 also mean there is no mod for *6, soloing map with Ling feels so painful.

    I'm gonna be honest, the entire balancing team needs a reshuffle. Like the modules they release either a godsend that at least try to fix the class/character issue (Passenger, Merchant subclass, Duelist Defender, pick any AH adjasent module), or absolute garbage that does nothing for the branch or the ops themsevles (all Splash Caster modules, AOE Medics) like yeah I'm sure Splash Casters with their abysmal ASPD and horrible SP cost will appreciate an extra singular tile of attack range.
    Or they keep releasing ops that completely invalidate either entire branches (pick any ranged Arts dealer that can attack 2+ enemies other than someone in Splash Caster branch; Skalter for medics) or every other op within a branch (NTR Knight, Texas Alter, Jaye and Utage all invalidate Guard Skadi (without AH), Hellagur, Project Red and Phantom; Chalter invalidates every other Splash Sniper and maps; Ling invalidates all other Summoners and soloes 80% of the maps)
    It has gotten to a point where there's now no reason to spend Orundum on anyone that is not Limited, because Limited Ops are just *that* strong that they completely overshadow others and if SN is any indication, their mindset is now gonna go "You either have these busted ass ops or you bang your head against the wall trying to figure out how to beat 90% dodge enemies that come in a wave on all lanes with just Jaye (hi SN-EX-2)" for every other event.

    I'm fairly confident Siege will get an alter form after the Londinium arc is over, but I'm surprised Angelina hasn't gotten more attention (Especially with how rare her gravity Arts are made out to be and the fact that it her first skin was literally a BATTLE SUIT). It'd be cool if she got a flinger-alter like Rosmontis and Greyy, but if a character like Greyy got an alter before the other reserve ops I'm not gonna hold my breath.
    At least she's still vital to Shiftknights...right?

    As someone who M6 Angelina skills and unlock her module when it first release, I really hoped that HG gave her module upgrade something to be excited for. A buff is a buff but because of having limited resources of course I will prioritize those that gives the most benefit. Hopefully HG tweak her modules or any other operators that was given meh modules to be more versatile or beneficial

    Modules being so limited means that some weaker units will never get touched if you use them rationally,if the module of X unit gives them a 25% improvement that doesnt really matter if they needed a 100% one
    This stuff is more noticeable on 5* too,cool hg ,now kirara regens more hp,Im sure people will use her now

    I've also gone from using Angelina almost every map 2 years ago, to almost never nowadays.
    Perfumer outshines her global heal by a lot. Suzuran is better for AoE slow with her fragile effect. And if I need an ASPD buff, +7 / +12 barely makes a difference.
    The only times I use her currently, is together with Weedy's S3 to yeet enemies into oblivion. But -1 weight has rarely made a difference in recent stages.

    Ngl I thought Siege's module was pretty nice. She has always fulfilled the roll of a lazy, no-attention needed vanguard in my team - Even more so than Saga. Giving her a direct stat buff actually helps her in this roll pretty well... No fancy niches, just moar damage to lanehold better without requiring much attention.

    Aside from the recurring theme in these comments of "maybe your favorite operator will get an alter limited," my wish for a while now has been for newer mechanics to get retroactively added to the Early-Installment Weirdness gang, in most cases needing to be actual skill modifications.
    Angelina, being a good example, is known for S3 being able to reduce a weight level to everyone, but otherwise they still move as normal until they get zapped by a slow effect. Now, suddenly, we have a new crowd control called Levitate (no, not Laevatain), introduced by an operator who I'm guessing only has it because the designer really REALLY wanted a "stylish juggling by constantly shooting at it" mechanic to somehow be incorporated into our silly tower defense game with dumb animal characters. Why can't we "module" that onto the operator with an actual anti-gravity mode, on top of the weight reduction itself?
    Same with Magallan. Get you a sweet penguin waifu from the frozen wastes. Typical utility in modern content is slow/bind effect on summons. Cold/Frozen? We'll never get that on an operator, that's only for- ...Oh, hi Gnosis, hi Aurora. Yes, I'm advocating for a freezing module for the skill called Freezing Module.
    And Mostima, now I know she's eating good for S3 fans, but you know what I would love? Have S2 start preparing a second stack for double manual skill activations, as made popular by Passenger.
    Coming back to Siege, why does her S3 have to be the weird one of the Pioneers? (Yes, I'm not counting Yato) They really wanted her to be a Guard without being a Guard, likely as an artifact from the time when there was no such thing as a Vanguard yet. These days, other than strict Vanguardknights, any need to use it has fallen off or can still be done as well by leaving S2 on and flipping all night long. Either mod a "generates DP after all" onto S3 or just Skadi her up with even more atk% and def% modifications.
    But probably what's going to happen is she's going to get Nearl'd with Saber, I mean, Siege Alter, introducing the rise of Glasgowknights, with Indra playing into it in time for Brawler module wave. Or something.

    Angelina I agree with her modules being quite bad, but I don't agree on Siege's. Her direct competition was Saga, who brought more utility, larger range, and more damage. This 16% extra attack on top of her massive raw boosts to attack and defense now bring it more in line where Siege does more damage and Saga has more utility. They are now actually side grades as opposed to Saga being a straight upgrade.
