    It's worth noting that if you have a lot of remove-only tabs, and then buy a new stash tab, you won't get a new empty tab but instead one of the remove-only tabs will become a normal tab.

    Good info.
    One mistake I made with tabs: I played two leagues without noticing that you could SCROLL DOWN on the map tab.

    Some more info I think you should include for new players is you can upgrade the tier of a supporter pack without having to pay from zero every time. So say you don't have much and can only get the 30 one when you start playing but you happen to have another 30 before the league ends. Then you can pick the option to upgrade and you get the difference in points so you are never wasting your money by starting off smaller and building up unless the league ends and they remove it. You can connect support before a pack is removed and work out something to still be able to buy it down the road after it is removed with a payment plan or something.

    This is the most important video I could have watched on the game when I first started. I went up to 94 without having any tabs and it was complete hell.

  • @Mudar96

    Maybe it would be worth discussing how many tabs are too much.
    1. Back before quad tabs existed, people bought a lot of normal stash tabs. This practice is no longer, as was explained in the video.
    2. Affinity also changed how much stuff you hoard in "non-special" tabs at a time. We used to have dump tabs, where we threw everything after a map in and sorted it later.
    3. Fit for purpose: If you decide that you want to play in the SSF game mode, you will need a lot more tabs than a player in a trade-enabled league. As already mentioned with unique, you can generally buy almost anything in trade that you might find on the floor. Outside of league start scenarios, keeping the boots with 30 life and 20% move speed from lvl 26 might be worth it in SSF, but in trade, there is no good reason. By the time you level a new character, you will have either gotten enough essences to make a new pair or can afford a leveling unique.
    I was a massive hoarder, hence why I have 15 quad tabs, 6 out of which I rarely use. Even worse are the normal tabs, 28 and I only ever use 10 at most. Sure some of them hold some random stuff from a project, but that could be condensed.
    4. Dump selling: There is one late-game use for slightly more tabs than you actually use. It's a trading strategy where you have let's say 4 tabs. One is your general shop. You price your item let's say at 70c, you put it in and it doesn't get sold for a day or two. You drop the price to 50c, but nothing again. So you keep doing that and your shop tab gets cluttered with items of different but low values. Here some premium tabs with the "Set negotiable price on all items" comes into play. You take your 3 tabs and set them to let's say 25c, 10c, and 5c. Every two days when you start playing, you just sell everything from the lowest tab to the vendor, seems like nobody wanted it. You take the items from the next higher tier and drop them down. Sure you might lose some money when you do big jumps, but it's better to sell at a loss than not at all. During league starts, I adjust this strategy to a fresh economy and a lack of good items on my side. Once I'm no longer contempt with the chaos recipe, I still pick up rings, amulets, and belts, take a quick look, and if they don't look remarkable, throw them in a 3c buyout tab. You won't believe what odd piece of gear sells because someone needed 20% cold resistance, 8 strength, and 12 intelligence. As the league and my wealth progress, I adjust and use the default strategy again and set the lowest price that I'm willing to trade for. This league is 5c. I farmed a decent bit of betrayal and all member-specific veiled mod items are going into the 5c tab. I have no idea why people are buying them, but I get some money from time to time. It's not going to make you rich, but if you are in your hideout anyway after a map or during downtime, you can just take a trade and have some chump change more in your pocket.

      @voodoo1069 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Just don't be like me and fill up a quad tab from a few days of mapping and instead of cleaning it out and selling stuff you push it under your bed and buy another quad tab lol. Also wish we could turn 4 normal into a quad as I was one of those that got to many normal tabs and hardly use them.

    Convenience is the key here for all the special tabs. Even if I could dump all the div cards into one quad tab, the special div tab is so much more convenient that I would never use normal tabs for it. Same for "bad" tabs like the Metamorph. That tab holds all the organs and catalysts in neatly organized manner. I can easily see how many different organs I have etc.
    All the special tabs are thus useful if you are interested in that content. If you don't care about metamorph, then obviously it's not worth it, but if you run it, then it's absolutely useful.

    • @icecreamemperor
      @icecreamemperor ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree they're still useful, but for the really marginal ones you can achieve nearly identical levels of convenience/organization with a premium tab and a tiny amount of effort at the beginning of each league. Personally, I have one quad tab I use for Delirium, Blight, Metamorph, and then any other random other 'special content' or items that make sense (itemized temples & incursion-specific fragments, memories, etc.) I organize this tab in the same way every league as I start to encounter that content, and it takes about 2 minutes of my time to get it to the point where new stuff is trivially easy to sort. (I could do something similar with a regular-sized premium tab for each individual mechanic, most likely, as the quad tab never gets close to full.) Affinities and auto-stacking really do go a long way.
      That said, I definitely wouldn't judge someone who is super into Delirium or Blight for getting these tabs. I have the Delve one for similar reasons, though it feels less and less useful each league.
      (Also, 100% agreed on the div tab -- you're getting some incredibly helpful UI upgrades there, like the ability to sort by full stacks.)

    Console works the same now as far as selling from premium tabs, but they can also make purchases on the market board similar to other RPGs/MMOs etc... This requires the seller to approve the sale from their hideout though, so while it is one step faster it still does interrupt mapping but only for a few seconds. Console probably has the best trade right now because you can abuse the trade website to locate your items, then go to the in game trade board to search the item you were looking for an buy it without going to a hideout. Basically bid on the sale then hit maps until the person approves or asks for more or whatever. You can also send a small message with the sale or if you decline a purchase in the trade board.

    @thorveim1174 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I do personally find the blight tab useful but thats purely because I like blight a lot: this results in a LOT of oils (which dont stack above a measly 10), and I like the extra utility of being able to not mix in blighted maps with my other maps.
    As for the unique tab, its more for collectors, or people that like to hang on at least one copy of every unique in case they need it in the future. (sad that i dont think it has 2 slots for unique rings or weapons in case you need a pair)
    also worth mentioning that quite a few fragments (usually those you need to stack to 100 to get an useful item, like splinters) CAN be stored at the bottom of the currency tab.

  • @azmadoppler
    @azmadoppler ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I want to add a bit more on buying normal Points.
    If you're buying Normal Points, you can use them to discount the next "Supporter Pack" that you want to buy.
    For example, the Tormentor Core supporter pack is 60$. So if you bought the normal point for 20$, it could still be used for a discount for the Supporter Pack.
    So you only have to pay 40$ if you already bought the 20$ package without buying any supporter pack.
    However, the discount can stay below 10$, and if you buy any supporter pack the discount also reset.
    For me, I usually support the game by buying 20$ pack monthly (if I'm still playing and the league is good), so by the end of the year I can buy the 140$ T-shirt Core supporter pack.

    From a SSF point of view: I like the gems and bottle tabs because at the start of the league gemcutters, glassblowers and vaal orbs are rare, so is nice to pick everything without thinking. Gems are also good for Standard, if you want to try something it's far easier to find a 21/20. Bottles tab is nice to find the higher level ones without looking each individually. They do provide some cpnfort.
    The only "useless" tabs are blight/delirium/metamorph because you can put all 3 in 1 regular tab and won't filled at the end of the league. Fossils themselves are a bit useless to me, but the tab itself holds a lot space .
    I agree with you in the Div card tab.... should be one of the priority, as div cards are a pain to manage without one and every league there are more cards to deal.

    I just bought the Divination Card tab and the Blight tab.
    Hoarding Divination cards is very helpful in SSF since it may be your way to obtain certain items, and for Blight, I did a lot of Blight this league and even got a Mageblood from it so I decided to buy the tab to keep my oils and Blighted Maps more organized. The tab also has QOL features. You can anoint items without going to Cassia with the tab, and upgrade your oils by just clicking them instead of constantly vendoring stacks of oils.

    • @Lucas-sk5iy
      @Lucas-sk5iy ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct, but also all of the specialized tabs can be used to sell stuff from as well. So if you bought a fragment tab, you can list the fragments you have stored in it for sale and players can message you about them, same as items in premium tabs.

    • @ArawnOfAnnwn
      @ArawnOfAnnwn ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can, using a program called Acquisition and posting your items on the PoE forums (what players call a 'shop'). It's perfectly within ToS and we did it for years, but it's really clunky and time-consuming. Basically you're displaying your items on a forum thread (which you can update just by editing it like any forum post), and then the trade site reads that. Acquisition helps you with doing this, cos there's a certain syntax you need to follow for the prices you post with each item to actually show up on the trade listings.

Sorting by name doesn't help and the category "pet" is so large. Same with almost all category. Pain in the ass every time I'm in the store. Same reasoning for why I grabbed a flask tab when they reworked flasks, getting the 40 Glass blowers per character (plus 9 more for every flask replacement) can be a pain without vendoring. Plus it's good to have a couple of high Ilvl flasks of each type in case you need them.

      I do have the gem tab and I find it pretty disappointing. It's actually worse for gemcutters than just having a regular tab that you dump every quality gem (that you don't want to keep) into, and then periodically empty out and vendor. Instead you have to sort through all your gems, including ones you might actually want to keep, and pick out the vendor-ready items.

    For Metamorph, If you spec into it on the tree you can fill a regular 12x12 tab with organs and catalysts an hour. This is because catalysts only stack to 10 in a normal tab, but in the metamorph tab, it stacks to 5000. I farmed it for a few hours and had a few hundred organs and over a thousand catalysts. That would have required a quad tab(24x24) to fit everything. When the tab is on sale, it's 30 points or roughly 3USD. If I were to fill it up, that's 50,000 catalysts or 5,000 slots in a quad tab. A Quad tab is 24x24 or 576 slots. The catalyst alone would require 10 quad tabs to hold. IMO for anyone who plays metamorph for even 1 single day should get the metamorph tab.
