Back in India played on Cartoon Network in 97/98. Probably the coolest thing my baby eyes had ever seen. Sci-fi, cool robots, a damsel in distress of a queen and young kids figuring out their purpose in the universe. Japanese creators inspire such vivid imagery and now memories. Respect!
Closest we got right now this year is Muv-Luv, Kyoukai Senki AMAIM & 86. Before that, Aldonoah, Listerners, Megaton-kyuu Musashi and Knight's & Magic. Go a bit way back, and there's Viper's Creed & Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. The rest are basically reboots of or sequels to major mech anime such as Gundam, Evangelion & Getter Robo. They're all not exactly quite good, just decent watch
@@Germania9 Plus! Mecha Anime still have a close relationship with its brother medium, Tokusatsu. As long that that’s around, Mecha anime will continue to thrive.
The only mecha anime we seem to have nowadays is Gundam and for whatever reason I was never able to get into it even though I tried real hard to like it. As far as great mecha anime goes, I’m a huge fan of Getter Robo and all of its multiple incarnation’s as well as all the individual shows in the Brave series with GaoGaiGar being my absolute favorite. If anyone who hasn’t seen or heard of GaoGaiGar I highly recommend watching it if you want to see an unpretentious mecha series that’s all about the battles with no forced human drama that also has extremely likable characters that don’t whine or complain. I’m looking at you (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
@@archangel5627 Creators of GaoGaiGar made a perfect "anti-Evangelion" without even knowing. Then they tried to make their own Evangelion in form of Betterman, and... it's abysmal.
Good Ole Ninja Robots!!!! Came on TV on Cartoon Network back in the day all uncensored and everything!!! Anime was super uncensored back in the day and I couldn't enjoy all of it!!!! Like Case Closed and others from Japan? Ohhhh the injustice!!!!
I loved this when I was little.. And just finished watching the Japanese version the nostalgia ❤️ I have to admit the sound track in the English dubbed version is much to my liking.. I almost teared when hearing the transformation sound track 💓
This was Anime and I didn't know the difference back then cos I first watched this dubbed version on Cartoon Network. I remember the Opening Song too well.
Maybe this is first anime..i ever watch without me noticing...i was a kid and ignorant..probably cant read back then cuz i was 7 or maybe 8? I dunno how....its because that white ninja and ost theme when he appear reminds me! That ost theme It hunts me until this day! I just dont know the title! I become an anime lover when i enter my 1st yr highschool until today that i got married and had beautiful 2 baby daugthers i still love anime i discover manga when internet was a thing reminds me back then my 2nd high school together with youtube Hahaha thx it bring back memories! I m 34 yr old now.lol
Is it me or was this suppose to be an alternative to Gundam? The flying ship in the beginning bears a striking resemblance to the White Base (if not a big exaggerated) and the enemy's uniforms looks a lot like Zeon uniforms. That and the basic progression of events felt like something you'd see in the UC or something.
@@dryceraidfanficksyoutube The BGM I don't mind. It's alright in itself. It's how overpowering it is, and that it isn't choreographed to any of the action that strikes me as dub-team homebrew. That, and sound effects get completely omitted at certain points.
This is some h*ntai dub tier shitty voice acting. Then again budgets for anime would have been peanuts back in the day so it's understandable. As a kid the dub still sounded alright. Also lol @ 8:22
