I love the special touches you give your products - scented furniture salve, pretty drawer liners, etc. Your pieces are very special and such a step up from the common distressed/chippy look that too many others are doing. LOVE the dusty lilac shade! Best of luck in your youtube channel - so glad I found you. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful creations.
Beautiful work! And to get rid of the gnats, in a small jar/old juice glass put several ounces (1/2 to full cup) of apple cider vinegar and a drop or two of dish soap. No need to stir together. The gnats can't resist it and die in the solution.
I love the way you don't just slap paint on and finish all your projects to such a high finish. Beautiful work I am a new subscriber and and am binge watching your videos.
I’m not a big fan of gilding BUT wow!!! I love this! Now I’m going to redo an old ugly desk I keep in my garage and just glam it up!!! Lol! Thanks for this idea!!!
Hahahaha! I had/have the same bedroom set as a kid. Identical! I had a long dresser and a tall one. First I painted it white for my daughter. Got rid of long dresser, kept the tall one and then chalk painted in light green. I also changed the knobs. What’s old is new again! Mine was a Sears set.
This is so pretty and feminine. I’d love to have this in my bedroom. Nice work, thanks for sharing! I’m new to the game so I’m making all the mistakes, as expected. I did learn yesterday that not only misting the surface but also using water in the paint itself makes all the difference. I’m so happy to have found that out because I used way too much paint and it looked streaky. The room I work in is also hot so the paint dries really fast.
Bugs, flies, gnats: take a bar of original Irish spring soap, drill a hole in it, loop a string through it and hang the soap above your work area. Most bugs will avoid the scent! (PS, love your work and ideas)
I’m so in love with this vanity!! If I actually saw this when you first did it, and you weren’t so far away from the San Francisco Bay Area in California I’d say name your price!!! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Your work is impeccable. I love looking at French provincial videos that are do overs. This one was wonderful, but that buffet.... How I wished I could have purchased that piece, but of course, I live in Massachusetts and that would not have worked. Instead, I get to look at your wonderful work.
I had a bed and a vanity in this style as a little girl in 60s and I bet my parents probably got from Sears as well. What I wouldn't give to still have that vanity!
I'm in Oklahoma too! Ilove this! Is there anyone who hasn't had at least one piece from this set? I have this desk in my garage right now waiting her turn for a makeover. I did the chest of drawers from this set for my granddaughter... dark rose pink. I redid the hardware gold with white antiquing. We lined them with black and white houndstooth (her mother was from Alabama). It turned out fabulous!
Yes, more French provincial! I have that same desk that you just made over. I have had it since I was a child and now my daughter uses it……and it desperately needs a makeover! I’m not inclined to do all the shiny finishes or flowers thinking that’ll get old fast, visually. Would love to see what else you do with a piece like that. Thanks for your thorough explanations. You’re great!
It became a gorgeous piece with all of your hard work. My daughter had that same set of bedroom furniture. She may still have it at her dad’s. I’m in Austin, Texas and the gnats are terrible! I have to remember to keep my mouth closed when I’m on my walks or I end up eating them! Yuk.
Great job. Just found your site and subscribed. The color is not my favorite, but to those who like it, it turned out great. I have the same piece. I got it free from Market place. Agree on Rust Oleum paint. Love it. It's great at a great price. I did my 6 pieces bedroom set for only $100 dollars, with a lot of paint leftover, which I'm using for another project. One question, why silver leafing? I use guilding wax and looks great too. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks.
Thanks for the sub! I also use gilding wax. To me the guiding wax is more of a shimmer and not as metallic bold as silver leafing. I really wanted the very metallic look to contrast the flat chalk paint look.
Cute vanity 😅 re: MOSQUITOES 😡 There's a gentleman on TH-cam who's a retired yard maintenance specialist (I'll try to get his info). He does say... "first step is to add a bit of Dawn dish soap in any standing water, such as saucers under plants. Females need to stand on the water to lay eggs, soap breaks the surface tension, making that impossible. You'll need to do this in a radius of 50 yds to be really effective, so get to know your neighbors, they'll apprecate the info." Or...come vacation in Oregon, no summer rain or humidity! We're due for our 1st rain since mid May in a couple days where I live.
Wow this one looks almost just like the one i did. Wish i could share my project but i dont know how in the comments.the color is almost the same also.
Can I ask what the name of your black respirator is? BTW your project turned out super cute. Nice to see silver tone accents for a change from all the gold tone accents I’ve been seeing.
I am using the Wooster Short 2" paint brush. The adhesive for the silver leafing is Speedball Metal Leaf Adhesive. It has Mona Lisa on it and I ordered it off Amazon.
Very nice. There is one In my small town almost identical to yours. Dated, needs painting good condition and the antique shop is asking $85.00. Is that a good price? Was wondering what your initial cost was if you are able to say.
It definitely limits your buyer more. So, if you are needing a quick sell I would go with a more neutral look. If you have time to wait for the right customer to come along these pieces definitely are fun to do. ❤
The silver is perfect for this purple. It really sets it off.
Wow. I was not expecting all of that glam. Tres chic. This piece is just fantastic!
OMG!!!! Beautiful job, you gave good step by step instructions.
The vanity is absolutely stunning!!! Your calla lilies are breathtaking!!!
Thank you ♥️
Love the transfer paper SOOOO PRETTY!!! . Love the silver detail.!!

Most beautiful Calla Lilies I have ever seen.

A ventilateur keeps the bugs away ..blown away
What a beautiful piece. Love the choice of paper to line the drawers, along with the peonies on the top. Another great job Sabrina!!!
Thank you so much!
I wish I had known you could use these wall decals before I spent a fortune on iod transfers.
I too love brushing the loose pieces, but I save them....LOL
Looks like a dream desk for a girl or woman. Such an improvement!

Amazing work.
Yes! That is on my list to tackle soon. Got the powder ordered and on the way.

Thank you so much! I sell my items on Etsy and can deliver to the East Coast!
I've been binge watching your vids. Your work is amazing. I'm in Oklahoma, as well, for the time being. I noticed gnats don't like peppermint oil
Thank you so much! I will give the peppermint oil a try!
I had that set as a child and still have the long dresser. It’s by the Dixie Furniture Company and was sold by Sears in the early seventies.
I had a bed and a vanity in this style as a little girl in 60s and I bet my parents probably got from Sears as well. What I wouldn't give to still have that vanity!
This is amazing. i never thought of using silver leaf. How creative you are.

I love this when I saw you do it. Then I lost it and didn't get your name. But I found you after days of looking. Great job
Glad you found me again!

I have another one coming up in a few weeks I painted for a client. Feminine, but no flowers this time and way less sparkle! Stay tuned!
Pretty
Simply gorgeous! Regards from México!
Thank you!
Really love how this turned out!
Purple is my fav! Love your style. Btw… I’m an Okie too, I live in Sherman Tx now, but I’ll always be an Okie lol

I believe this desk is from the Bonet collection from Sears. Probably from the 1960s, perhaps. I have the same desk and dresser set.
Oh thank you for letting me know!
