Don't apologize for sticking to the rules, Xenia. You ride the way you like it and if that means obeying the traffic laws and avoiding unnecessary risks then there is no blame in that. What's most important is that you enjoy yourself. I quite enjoyed your style of riding in the context of this video. Loved this. I like to ride same way as her, eventually stopping at red lights, going easy, enjoying the ride. Sometimes this is all about, no need to rush, justing chilling. Really cool

Great Tour by a really nice guide. Is it a coincidence that the first rider who emphasizes to be nice to each other and mostly obeys the traffic rules happens to be a woman? Anyway I love watching other riders with passion for bikes riding them and let them talk about their hometown.

Согласен. Езжу по Москве лет 15, в последние годы впечатления, будто все мудаки на автомобилях поголовно приписали себе надпись такси. Т.е. среди не-таксистов вообще ни одного неадеквата.

@@tjuepptja9808 I usually do a trip every year and try to set higher goals. I planned a 4-week tour to finnland along the baltic sea this year, but corona crossed my plans so far ;). Russia is my next bigger goal, so maybe it will take longer than this....I also would love to do a trip through japan, but this is still in far distance...maybe in 5 to 10 years, maybe I will never be able to go there (financially speaking ;D).

Sometimes when i yield on a red along with the cars, and then take off early, i get this bad feeling, like every one of those drivers left behind looks at me with disdain. Then one time i told this to a colleague motorist, and he's like "You on a bike, stopping at reds? Why?"
I swear I thought she was about to get hit a few times. Great job on her end staying composed and in her own flow. You can tell she really loves her home and it’s pretty damn beautiful.

Totally agree. On a bike in city traffic a lot of times you're safer off violating rules.
By Russian laws, if you would get injured or killed by a car, the driver will go to jail. You are easy to not be noticed because of your reckless driving, so I do have empathy for the taxi driver and disprespect for thoes, who have poor judgement and no respect for others

I visited Moscow many times in the early and mid 90s. At that time nobody was riding bikes in Moscow, cept maybe a few athletes.
There were bikes but mostly at dachas. I bought at new Russian bike at an outdoor market, was a single speed had a freewheel, now I ride mostly fixed gear. I think I paid about 20 bucks for it and had to go through it mechanically before I could ride it
I rode mostly on sidewalks and through parks, nobody was riding bikes and people would look at me crazy. At that time I lived in Voikovskaya, I would ride down to a waterfront. There were no bike lanes and people weren't expecting bikes in the street so It would be suicide at that time to ride in the streets.
Anyway I loved this video.
Well it hasn't changed that much. Bicycles in Russia are mostly used to ride some summer days in parks and the rest of the time they just gather dust on balconies. If you look older than 16 and ride a bike, people look at you like at crazy.
A few bicycle lanes that exist in the center of Moscow were painted just a few years ago and are barely usable as you can see on the video. They just made them to make the center of Moscow look more beautiful but not for development of bicycle riding purpose. There are no bicycle lanes in suburbs at all where they are mostly needed actually.
But yeah, it becomes better anyway.

Соглашусь. Ездил с другом к Вам в Минск, очень пожалели, и оценили "гостеприимство" Ваших водителей :) Странно было видеть страну ("Европейскую"), где нельзя кататься на велосипедах по дорогам. Но алкоголь 24/7 скрасил наше путешествие :)

@@Somebody-dq6hh Пытались ловить меня несколько раз за 1 поездку и на дороге в 3 полосы в движении подьехал бобик и мент крикнул, чтобы я на тротуар сьехал. Но это в Минске. Я живу в Витебске и со многими патрульными уже знаком, тк часто езжу в тех же местах, но все равно напрягает.
Зато в Минске вдоль реки идет очень живописная велодорожка практически через весь город. Только в районе Старого города толпы туристов вываливают на велодорожку, а в остальном пешеходы вполне привыкли и ведут себя адекватно. Можно и с детьми покатать хорошо и самому потренироваться. Конечно 40+ не сделать но зато без машин.

Awesome as always. BORING lol. I love to see the range of personality in the riders you feature.
Moscow seems a very appropriate place for cycling. It's flat and smooth. But sharing lanes with conventional traffic to that extent doesn't look as comfortable as it could. I see too many close calls with those cars going faster. It's a pity they don't develop a dedicated infrastructure throughout the city for cyclists.
One of the reasons that gives a chance to people of our Motherland to survive is uncommon way of solving problems (in Russian it's called [smekaLka]), this ability also comes from uncommon situations(like you mentioned above with bike-roads) that seem to be preposterous for other nations but it's usual thing for us.
But nowadays tendentious show that things with [smekaLka] changes not in good way..
