I was able to fly a parajet mavric with the moster yesterday at the Salton sea and it is absolutely amazing. I normally fly a skycruiser with a top 80 or a Thor 200. The difference was mind-blowing! I see why you fly it. The dependability of not worrying that my engine was going to die (my Thor) and the weight shift, the weight, everything. Good review.
Having just ordered a Scout, my heart kinda sunk at first glance of that video title. But this is another very sensible comparison and review. Thanks so much for your experience backed info.
Watching you has been fun, I fly paragliders. I saw at the point flying the stasch. Anyways, the progression has been fun, to go from watching you pep yourself up so you don't bite it on take off to swooping a hanger in a pretty short time..bravo
Great video Tucker. Appreciated you taking the time to answer those questions. I 'm sure you'll always love those memories of winning the Icarus and the Icelandic trips with the Scout team. I would love to see you do some more international flying. Maybe another Iceland trip. ;-).
From what you said I understand ParaJet is just a bit longer in business as compared to Scout. So they've gone a longer way in practice, as compared to Miro doing it more the theoretical way. Both are top end, the small personal edge is for experience.
I'm on the fence between the two. Charging $400 to change the color of the arms on the Parajet is a rip-off in my opinion. Almost pushing me away from Parajet just because of that! Seems tacky. Plus I love all the videos Miro makes.
Makes sense. I was comparing the weight shift authority between 2 machines which led me to measure the distance between the swing arms. No surprise, the set up with more weight shift had 22 inches between the swing arms. The other had 18 inches between arms. 4 inch difference does not sound like a lot, but that is 22% larger. No wonder. I'm sure there are other factors in the feel... but wow.
Your videos are always great. Frequently informative and always interesting. It's not too often that one finds those two in the same package. Stay safe, positive, and fully engaged.
Hey Tucker! i just want to thank you for being so candid and honest. It's obvious that your opinions are truly honest and unbiased. Also, your love and dedication to ParaMotoring is what has inspired me as I'm sure it has many others. Thank you so very much for sharing your passion brother!!
Hey Tucker! I’ve got a question for you, and I’m not sure if it’s a stupid question. Lately in the news I see that the U.S. military has really stepped up their attempts at maintaining their airspace and enhancing their radars to detect more objects in the air. Are you worried that current events could impact airspace laws or even potentially your own safety? I know pilots are making sure that these objects are unmanned before shooting them down, but with the Air Force so ready to pull the trigger without even knowing what these objects are, I can’t help but be curious what your thoughts are.
When I first went for lessons with my man Matt Minyard I was convinced I wanted a scout. He asked me why. I was like because it's got the torque spars and it's carbon fiber and super cool. Then he broke it down for me. Carbon Fiber does not mean it's lighter....and it's more fragile. The spars are cool to look at but you can achieve the same results with offset arms and motor mount shims. He had flown the scout and also told me the thing just felt weird altogether. Like the geometry was off just like what T.Gott mentioned with the more lean back and the bottom hitting your calves when you run. Awkward. I ended up getting a Maverick with a 150EOS mounted. Excellent student motor and rig in my opinion. I now fly that same maverick with a dual start 185 moster and I've done some mods to it myself to cut the torque. Fiberglass spars, offset kydex motor mount shims work well. I'm actually looking for another Maverick frame if anyone has a spare they are looking to sell, hit me up.
Did your new merchandise come out yet Tucker? Looking forward to getting some new shirts!! I got so lost in your video I forgot what day it was! 😂 enjoy your Sunday Brother!!
Wondering if you have ever flown a Gravity paramotor and if not would you try one and give an opinion. I like the design and idea of it, but no one really gives a thorough review of one.
as always. cracking video.. could you possibly tell me what camera you using .. the one on the end of the stick..is it a 360 camera.. keep the vids coming bro
So it's normal for a maverick with a moster to pull left at low throttle? Mine has done that from the start and I thought something has been wrong. I trim out uneven to counter.
Yeah Tucker,… IIRC you upgraded from an MT-07 to an MT-10,…… those have Slipper Clutches…. Not gonna push or bump start one of those. I have an R1M, the same chassis, similar motor, same battery….. and the battery is tiny. Sometimes it doesn’t want to fire when you first try it will on subsequent starts. Clearly yamaha got a few things wrong with this family of bikes. I’d recommend trying a lithium battery, but you life in a similar climate to me and cold starts suck with lithium batteries. On my EBR1190RS Carbon Edition it takes 3 or 4 attempts before the engine will turn over at all before the battery gets enough heat in it to work everything is fine after that. But to be sure, lithium batteries suck under 60 degrees.
When you’re up there cruising; Is it ever as exhilarating as it was like back in the day when you were first starting to paramote? Having never done it yet, it still is as someone watching the videos so my guess is yes.
It's never "the same" but that doesn't mean it isn't a great feeling. The feeling changes as you learn more and gain more experience. The things you worry about change. The amount you notice increases. Your priorities change. But the love of flight stays the same.
Interesting about the torque compensation with the Scout. I always felt like I was missing out on it, but now you mention that its similar to the Maverick I feel better about not having tried a Scout yet - as sexy as they look. I wondered if you have tried a PAP Tinox yet? They have a torque compensation strap that you can adjust in flight so you can set it to where you can be hands off at whatever throttle setting you choose without having to manually compensate - which works nicely with the cruise control throttle. It is however one extra strap you have to remember to do up and you really notice it if you forget to clip it, can be difficult to clip in during flight but is possible. Reserve behind head too, doubles as a nice headrest :D
I keep thinking that Scout is going to come out with a new frame to 'fix' the limitations of carbon fiber and being over weight. I'd like to see a TOTAL redesign with titanium from Scout.
Need to make your videos more wider audience friendly. You should have way more subs. The title on this video is so narrow, only a few people will know what a scout even is. Your big videos have great thumbnails and very wide titles that anyone will want to click on. Id love to see you grow like you deserve too.
This was a great comparison between two different frames and highlights how the two frames have different design priorities that the benefit different types of pilots more. The question I have, is there any reason to get a maverick with the 185 vs getting the mavmax with the 185?
The difference is that the Mav Max only comes with the factory R motor. The original Maverick has a choice of three motors, the third being the Atom 80. I’d like to see the Mav Max available with the choice of the Atom 80 and a 140 prop. That’d be a really efficient setup.
@paramotorhead6623 You can get the Mav Max with a standard Moster 185 or the Factory R. I haven't seen an option to run the atom 80 on it, nor I have I seen anyone testing the atom 80 with the 140 Prop. Might be interesting to see the efficiency of the atom 80 with a 140, but I am a heavier pilot and better served by the 185.
Paramotors are improving over time. Though I typically fly 130 & 140 cm equipped machines I occasionally fly a Maverick and still find it a comfortable and of course durable. If the only downside to the Maverick is prop size, have you considered the MavMax?
@@jimcr120 To me it isn’t worth the price and I dislike Parajet. I think I’m going to get a Yooda F2 with the 150cm hoop and Factory R when I sell my Maverick.

No. The Factory R was a catalyst to start flying the Maverick. Then I started to like the Maverick more than the Scout for all of the reasons discussed.

Nice to hear that 140 prop just humming away quietly in the background;)

When he talks about cruise speed pulling, that is subjective. If you have a small wing you need more throttle to cruise.
That thing HAULS!! 😍 But besides that fact, great info, Tucker! 👍😎👍
