    thats hella impressive man. So what would a day of studying look like for you after you reviewed the cards? Did you have one giant deck or each subject was broken down? Did you review each section every day?

      The day of studying after reviewing cards would depend where I was at in my studying. Early on - more content review of kaplan books, mid way through - UWorld problems, and later on AAMC materials, and usually another 5-6 hrs of studying if I was studying a full 8 hr day. Near the end of my studying I was averaging around 500-600 ANKI reviews a day taking me 1 hr 30 mins - 2 hrs to complete. I had separate decks for each subject (psych/soc, bio/biochem, chem/phys), and then review decks for each section that included any/all problems I had missed on UWorld, Next Step practice exams, and AAMC materials. Usually for a single deck I would do 20-40 new cards (if there were new cards) per day, and 80 that I had seen. And yes I did review each section every day for ~6ish days a week with one day off. Sorry for the long response wanted to be thorough, glad you enjoyed the video man!

      @@samuelsmithmed214 One more question if its not a problem. The link to the 300 page document isn't working. Is khan academy the ones who made it?

      Oise O oh dang, yeah it’s been 6 months since I’ve used it. Yes it is a list of the Khan Academy terms, but the people who made the document isn’t actual khan academy I think they’re called MCAT Bros, I would just google “KA 300 pg document” and look on reddit.com/mcat to and keep scrolling through pages until you find it there, I’m sure someone has reposted it or an updated version.

    Super random-did you study w/ music (+ or - lyrics?) when making or doing your cards? Thanks!

    Okay this might sound dumb but were you able to actually know the term for all these random things like cell cycle to glycolysis stuff or more just a general you could pick out the right answer in a discreate question if given the options. Because to actually memorize 5000 terms in 200 hours seems a little bit unrealistic if we are talking about actually memorizing. If not maybe I am going at this all wrong

    Do you advise to change any settings? Really I will depend on this app for MD urology, so I will have thousands of cards at the end of little months.
    So what's your advice for me? Should I review all cards every single day before making new ones? Thanks for your help❤️

    • @samuelsmithmed214
      @samuelsmithmed214  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would up the daily review count in the hundreds if you're trying to get through thousands of cards, and play around with how many times you want to see them over to see what works for you. I really didn't change too many settings from default other than review counts, and it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.

    What did you score on the MCAT? And how much did your score improve after doing all of that Anki work? Thank you!

    Can you share your anki settings with us? struggling to get through it quickly

      I've screenshotted my current settings in the link below: prnt.sc/10hbudi
      So you might want to play with the "easy" interval. I don't know my settings for the MCAT since I've changed them for medical school (where I want to see cards quicker because I have block exams every 2-4 weeks). So I have mine at 2 days. You might want anywhere from 4-7 days studying for the MCAT given you have over 2 months to study.

    • @samuelsmithmed214
      @samuelsmithmed214  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emily2567 Honestly I just kept every other setting the same, I feel that the easy interval is easiest to manipulate time that you'll see the card. Although that is probably just me not knowing enough about Anki. Haha, best of luck to you Emily.

      Adam I think Anki web might have removed mine! I had them posted but people keep telling me that the links aren’t working. Regardless I do recommend that you make your own cards as it’s more effective for you learning the material and memorizing it yourself. I’ve heard there are some good decks out there though reddit.com/r/MCAT might have a few.
