Hi friends! I hope you enjoyed this video on how to use Anki like a pro! How do you use Anki to study!? What do you want to know about Anki!? What other flashcard or study apps do you use!? Let me know along with any questions you have below!
@TheMDJourney, I had download someone MCAT cards and now I just created my cards, but I am unable to synchronized my decks from mac to ankiweb. Could you please help me? Thanks.
Thank you, man. Great video! Would you be able to elaborate a bit on these topics or make a follow up video covering how to play with the more complicated settings? 1. How to adjust the settings under "options" which controls the steps in minutes, maximum reviews, what the easy bonus/modifiers do, as well as the lapses, etc. 2. How to sync your cards to your other devices like phone/iPad and how to reverse sync them without messing it up (download vs upload) 3. How to use the burying/suspending features 4. How to use a controller like a PS4 controller or something along those lines to make it easy/quick/fun to go through cards. I had to get a friend to help me with it but that was a while ago and forgot how to do it myself now. Thanks man, I appreciate your help!
ANKI was originally a little overwhelming and your video seriously helped, thank you for posting this. I am commenting to boost your account because you deserve it!
I am a premed student and to be honest after one year at college i learned the hardway that making notes is a waste of time. first of all i would never go back to look at the notes i made. and if i did go back to look at i wouldn't even be able to understand. secondly i would end up rewriting what was on the lecture slide onto my notes. And i found that i would always end up going to the lecture slides to actually learn the content. lastly i would never assign equal prioty to all the different topics i would learn. instead i would find myself going back and forth between the same topics. to conclude i want to say that you are a LEGEND for showing us these techniques. especially the screenshot Lecture slide style anki notes. i feel like this particular anki technique was what i have been waiting for my whole life. it so unbelievably easy to do. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I HAVE SUBSCRIBED BTW. 😉
Quick note at 14:20: You can actually export all the slides to image files to save you the time of screenshotting every slide: * Go to 'File' > 'Save As' or 'Export.' * Choose the image format (e.g., JPEG). * Select the location and click 'Save' or 'Export.'"
I tried this method with media import as well but the only problem is because the media files are all imported at once anki doesn't show the cards in the same order of the powerpoint
I really appreciate how fast you can you talk all the details in one video and yet very clearly, articulate and concise. You're a great teacher! Thank you.
About a year and a half ago I was desperately looking for someone to break down Anki like this for me so I could use it for MCAT studying but I could not find anything online and my med school friends were not good at explaining it to me lol. I gave up on using it but now I really need to figure it out. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This was seriously so helpful. God bless you, brother. I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'm using these tips to help with my cloud engineering studies. Your advice works so well with a lot of the architecture diagrams and complex processes that were hard to put in flashcard format before, and you've simplified it down into a nicely repeatable process. Awesome video!
I wouldn't think cloud engineering would be a big field, but now that I look at it, clouds are very beautiful and intricate, however my eyes start to hurt after a while, what sunglasses do you recommend for looking at clouds?

I'm taking a self-paced course that uses Chicago Manual of Style. I've been feeling hopeless for almost a year wondering how I could learn everything required. Thanks to your video, I finally feel like I can jump into the course and finish it.
This is amazing! I only used anki to learn English and now when i started to Learn German i needed a quick reminder on how to use it but you have kind of blown my mind with possibilities.
Win+shift+S - is a shortcut on windows that creates very quick screenshot, with the ability to screenshot just a portion of the screen as well, so you can stop bothering with snap tool and other tools as well.

This video is very helpful because looking at anki is overwhelming. I subscribed and will be watching your other videos ☺️👍🏼 keep up the good work!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your method to use Anki. I have someone saved his Anki deck and carried me thru the semester but now it’s time to do it myself although not really motivated. But your video encourages me to try it out using my own notes with the screenshot feature. Let’s go!!
This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I looked for this video just to figure out how to use the cloze function, but I need to memorise a ton of anatomy and physiology for my final and the image occlusion is going to be so useful!!
Ive been trying to find a tutorial for Anki for language learning but then I found this! Really helpful regardless of want you want to study. Thank you so much;
Thanks for the awesome video, I’m a snip and sketch guy myself. Just switched yesterday to Anki. I’ve been using flashquiz for years, but the picture quality is a little tricky on there for high res photos. And I use the snips-screenshots a lot, even kind of make them interactive for learning computer software. I like the tag part, and want to finish off by saying, this is my favorite video on Anki, out of all the ones I’ve seen.
Thank you. I ve known anki for over 12 years but ive never used it because i always found it so not intuitive. But your explanations made it so easy to understand! :) great content!!
Great tutorial! The image occlusion is one of my favorite tools but I never considered just screenshotting the PowerPoint slide and simply inserting it into Anki with image occlusion. Thanks for the video!
Like all the other comments, I want to thank you for your very useful video. I am about to start using Anki to further my studies of Spanish and I can see how useful this will be. This is the first comment I have ever written in response to a TH-cam video.
Thank you so much Doctor! Your voice is so calm as well which is a great bonus honestly! One more question: I want to create a brand new anki file (I don't mean a new deck). I don't want my pathoma anki notes to get mixed up with somebody else's. How do I do that? I would like to make one similar to the people in the forum you mentioned
Great video! I was a bit overwelmed at first with all the options Anki has and decided not to use it. After a while, I wanted to try it out again, but still didn't really know how to start using it. Your video made it really clear for me. Thank you very much, it was really helpful!
Thanks so much for putting this video together! I just started using Anki for my Quality Engineering certification exam and the info in your video has made Anki make so much sense. I can now actually use it and not just randomly click on buttons LOL. Thanks again!!
OMG this video is the best one on Anki how does it have only 3-4K views? Just a question do you recommend not taking notes on the USMLE videos on Microsoft then and just take notes on Anki? Thanks Boss!
You surely can do either. I just find it efficient to take notes in Anki. But you lose the organization of your original notes since Anki will essentially randomize your lecture notes after your initial pass
Thank you man i really fell that in 20 minutes i got a good understanding of anki .I hope this will boost my study efficiency .Peace and keep up the good work .
For ppts you can just copy the slide cntrl+C (or right click on slide and click copy) and then just paste it onto the anki with cntrl+v without screen snipping, also there is shortcut for windows screen snipping, which is: windows_key + shift + s.
thank you for this throughout explanation, I've been using Anki recently to create my Thai vocab flashcards and tbh I was so lost lmao but thanks to your video now I can actually use Anki correctly hahshahs

This video is very helpful because looking at anki is overwhelming. I subscribed and will be watching your other videos ☺️👍🏼 keep up the good work!!!
Thanks for the supportive comment!
Honestly, you have given the best review of Anki so far. I will be starting Med school in 2021.
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Best of luck in med school :)
@@TheMDJourney Thanks. I am an old school mature student. Anki is so different but exceptionally useful.
If used correctly it'll be the most useful tool in med school
Thank you so much for sharing your method to use Anki. I have someone saved his Anki deck and carried me thru the semester but now it’s time to do it myself although not really motivated. But your video encourages me to try it out using my own notes with the screenshot feature. Let’s go!!
This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I looked for this video just to figure out how to use the cloze function, but I need to memorise a ton of anatomy and physiology for my final and the image occlusion is going to be so useful!!
The rhythm and information density in this video is really good!
Thanks for the nice comment!
Excellent video! Thank you for catching me up on everything I need to know to start using Anki for my own studies.
Glad this helped!
Ive been trying to find a tutorial for Anki for language learning but then I found this! Really helpful regardless of want you want to study. Thank you so much;
I have been hearing about Anki everywhere so I finally decided to give it a try. Thanks for the video, this will definitely speed things up :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Literally the best video I’ve seen explaining how Anki works. And I’ve watched a lot XD. Thank you!
Super sweet of you to say. Glad you liked it! :D
I'm glad you found this video helpful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Not one of those long videos with lots of talks and less of information. You're great, I loved it
video starts at 00:50
Great tutorial. Anki is going to save my life since I spend too much time studying and keep falling behind.
I have to thank you man...
Thank you so much. You have just earn one more subscriber.
Glad I was able to help! Thanks for your support!
Best video on ANKI so far, keep it up man.
Aww glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your effort!
This might be just 20 min video but it has days of effort!❤
Glad this helped you out!
Like all the other comments, I want to thank you for your very useful video. I am about to start using Anki to further my studies of Spanish and I can see how useful this will be. This is the first comment I have ever written in response to a TH-cam video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the comment! :D
Glad you found the video helpful! Best of luck :)
Now I can make my own flashcards for exams without spending hours for each topic, thank you!
Glad this helped!!
Thanks for the tutorial. Currently its almost end of the school year but next year I am gonna use this definetly.
Awesome overview, so many helpful tips! Wish I had known about Anki in college :D
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks so much for putting this video together! I just started using Anki for my Quality Engineering certification exam and the info in your video has made Anki make so much sense. I can now actually use it and not just randomly click on buttons LOL. Thanks again!!
Haha glad this video helped!
2024. You teached an Argentinian guy anki in 20 minutes. Thank you so much.
Thank you! I've got enough to start and an understanding of where Anki can take me. Appreciate it!
Glad it was helpful!
ur voice is calming af
Auto tune ;)
Dude you are a such life saver do you know how many videos i watched before...i wish i could have seen yours first honestly!!
Glad this helped you out!
OMG this video is the best one on Anki how does it have only 3-4K views? Just a question do you recommend not taking notes on the USMLE videos on Microsoft then and just take notes on Anki? Thanks Boss!
You surely can do either. I just find it efficient to take notes in Anki. But you lose the organization of your original notes since Anki will essentially randomize your lecture notes after your initial pass
thank you so much for this walkthrough! anki is really powerful and is a game changer when you use it with dense subjects (like anatomy)
Thanks for the nice comment!
thank you so much for the detailed and awesome walkthrough!
Super useful!!! I’m ust getting started w/Anki and i was so overwhelmed when i first opened it up, so thank you!!

Enjoy!!!
hands down the best beginners guide to anki
thank u sooooooo much
Glad you enjoyed it!
For ppts you can just copy the slide cntrl+C (or right click on slide and click copy) and then just paste it onto the anki with cntrl+v without screen snipping, also there is shortcut for windows screen snipping, which is: windows_key + shift + s.
Thank you sooo much dude for thr guide. It used to be overwhelming before
thank you for this throughout explanation, I've been using Anki recently to create my Thai vocab flashcards and tbh I was so lost lmao but thanks to your video now I can actually use Anki correctly hahshahs
Glad the video helped you out!
