Great video.. I laughed when you got the truck to start with remote and truck didn't turn off till the brake was pressed. I'm looking at purchasing also.
I just installed one in my 2022 ram. Instalation was super easy. The instructions were a little vague. The programing software has some nice options. Set a 20 second delay for the diesel, up to 30 minute runtime. I chose to turn off all lights, no flash. Can't beat the price $200
I installed mine today and had to refresh the module cause it did not work the first time but after the second flash all works great and programmed no problem .. wow it works great .!!!
Thanks for sharing. I ran into the same issue with the green light not coming on after opening and closing the doors. Your approach with putting the key in first and then unlocking worked for me as well. Thanks again!

Is everything still working for you 5 months later? I am seriously considering ordering this for my 2014 2500.
When you remote start the truck does the heat and ac work normal? In the summer will cool the cab down before you get in? How love will it run once remote started?
This is SUPER helpful. My unit arrived from Amazon today with no instructions inside. I was (admittedly) screenshotting yours from the video (you rock!), as this is the only decent video online. But now I'm stuck with the "Go online to the website" part as I don't know where exactly to go. Any chance you would post a photo up of that page if you still have them? Or from memory?
Do you know if all the start X remote start kits like these use your existing key fob I have a Dodge Durango push to start and I want to buy the kit but online it doesn’t have a whole lot of explanation on what it comes with. Or if when you remote start it it still stays locked until you start the vehicle and run position
JUST A QUICK UPDATE!! I replaced my battery in the truck and the remote start stopped working, I contacted Start X and they told me to open the door and tun the key to ON then OFF and back ON and OFF 5 times in 7 seconds wait 7 seconds and start the truck.. It reset the remote start and working Great over 2 years later
After you remote start it from outside the truck. Once you get in how do you have to go about driving? Just get in and turn the key all the way to start and just put it in drive and go?
You have to put the key in the ignition turn it to on and hit the break. If you don't it in that order, it will shut off and you have to use the key to restart it. It is an anti theft feature It will shut off automatically after 15 min if you just leave it run.

@@jp052476 sorry for the delay in response, once in a while mine will turn off as I put it in drive it has only happened a few times. But if you turn the key to run, hit the break and put it in drive over 99% of the time it works fine. I've had mine for almost a year now and even had to reprogram a replacement key,, but the system had no issues accepting the new key, still works great. I would make sure you don't have a loose wire and all connections are tight.
After it's remote started, you unlock the doors and you have 45 seconds (or depending on how long you configured it) to turn the key to "ON" and hit the break, otherwise after 45 seconds it will shutdown.

The night before turn on the ac or heater then remote start it and what ever one you had on will be on when it starts
you have to turn on the heat or AC before you shut off the vehicle, then yes, it will come on when you start it.

Try it again, make sure you didnt miss a step, I put everything in the video I did to get it to work, 5 months later it still works great.
Make sure all wires are in the right place

Then it really isn't plug & play If you have to use a computer who has a computer nowadays?
