Dead faith is non-faith. They are two qualitatively different things. Dead faith says, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Authentic faith from a person who has been truly saved says, “I believe it, even though I don’t see it (with my eyes).”
“Now faith is the *assurance* of things hoped for, the *conviction* of things not seen.”

You must be born-again to have authentic faith. You can never rationalize your way to authentic faith. It is a gift from God.
