Its strength lies in its simple versatility; being able to drop bombs, fire torpedoes, and still be able to challenge air supremacy all in one sorty is not to be underestimated, even if it's not the best in any of those categories alone. IMO the best of anything would be something that can do well in any circumstance rather than something that does very well in a particular circumstance.

The only goal of the ball gun is to make the enemy miss. As long as the enemy is so busy dodging fire, they can't line up a good kill shot, keeping the bomber alive. Killing the enemy is just the highest form of making the enemy miss and never take a shot again.
I love the loyalty and brotherhood (most) clones share, I remember watching the show as a kid and feeling like I was part of the story. Keep up the videos Geetsly!
The A4 may be a classic and an icon for the Rebel Alliance, but if I want to fight the Empire, the BTL-B will be my main bomber, if it could pierce swarms of droid fighters, then the swarms of TIEs will be nothing but easier obstacles, and every ISD will fear them to the core

A ragged cheer comes up from the clones as Kenobi breaths a sigh of relief and slumps to the ground.
Y wing pilots were clutch during many battles, they deserve big props. We also have to remember the pilot that made it out of a crash when General Grevious boarded kenobi's Venator. A very lucky pilot.
Would be interesting to see an Analyses of the Arc 170. How effective that was and what exact role it served/ how it was used most of the time. After all it had one more Pilot then even the Y-Wing.
I feel like it would be cool if there going to be a cargo pod adaptation of this fighter. Like a: Y-Wing light freighter. Best suited for running through pirate-riddled sectors

That's what I always thought, probably why I've always loved the Y-wing as well since the A-10 has been a fav of mine forever. Now, if the Y-wing's engines were upgraded for more speed and you could modify the laser guns under cockpit to go "BRRRTTT" (in space), then you'd have a pretty good match. 😁

i'd argue that the sluggish trait is for loiter time. the longer you can be on target the more ordinance you can accurately send.

BTL-S3 is my favorite. I would’ve used the R-2 as my gunner if I didn’t have extra personnel. It has a torpedo mag of 10 and was only 16 meters.
