My friend is a VFX artist for the Marvel Studios, along with some DC productions in the past, and he was part of the cleanup team for the Wolverine vs Hulk scene during the montage. They shot Hugh Jackman in costume but not in the John Byrne brown-ochre costume (you can look this up from some of the post-release BTS photos like the cut Rob McElhenney cameo photo). The original suit was the classic blue and yellow Gil Kane outfit that was more minimalist and flatter in texture. A few months into post-production, they were apparently told to CGI over the costume into the brown-ochre one to fit with the reshot joke Deadpool has commenting on it. Like 99% of underpaid and overworked artists in Hollywood, it was a difficult effort that took it to the extended deadline before release. According to him, the hardest part was retrofitting the hue of the original costume into the John Byrne one. Since that outfit is largely brown they had to put extensive labor into removing the original blue accents. A task which they dubbed a "blue harvest," a reference to the working title for the original Star Wars.

Missed opportunity to have Russel Crowe cameo as Wolverine, the original choice for Wolverine in X-Men before he turned it down and it went to Jackman.
I heard it wasn't Russell Crowe I heard it was Dougray Scott.... He was supposed to do the job but because of mission impossible 2 going way over budget and over shooting time he wasn't able to become wolverine. He actually suggested Hugh jackman. That's the story I heard from Karen Gilliam.... She had worked with him on Doctor Who in one episode. And he was telling her the story of how he nearly became Wolverine. Now of course this is coming second hand so don't take my word for it but I've heard similar things as well in the media. So from what I understand he was the first choice.
I think it has something to do with the setup that something related to Thor will happen to Deadpool in Secret Wars and Russel was in the latest Thor movie as Zeus, but if RDJ can just come back and play Dr Doom then yeah why not have a lil fun with it

Blade just gave me big time smiles to see the "one and only" Blade again, lol
Is was definitely there. I told my family that as it happened since my theater was pretty empty.
Missed opportunity to have Russel Crowe cameo as Wolverine, the original choice for Wolverine in X-Men before he turned it down and it went to Jackman.
Are you not entertained..!?!
And Dougray scott
I heard it wasn't Russell Crowe I heard it was Dougray Scott.... He was supposed to do the job but because of mission impossible 2 going way over budget and over shooting time he wasn't able to become wolverine. He actually suggested Hugh jackman. That's the story I heard from Karen Gilliam.... She had worked with him on Doctor Who in one episode. And he was telling her the story of how he nearly became Wolverine. Now of course this is coming second hand so don't take my word for it but I've heard similar things as well in the media. So from what I understand he was the first choice.
I think it has something to do with the setup that something related to Thor will happen to Deadpool in Secret Wars and Russel was in the latest Thor movie as Zeus, but if RDJ can just come back and play Dr Doom then yeah why not have a lil fun with it
He's too dang old man.
You forgot Old Man Logan, Sabretooth, Happy Hogan and not-RDJ.
And Chris Hemsworth
I'm not even that big of a Blade guy. Seen 1 and trinity once each, never even seen 2. But I tell you my fucking jaw dropped when Snipes appeared. That was the last person I ever would have expected to return. Also the desecration of Logan's grave was HILARIOUS. I could not stop laughing for that entire title sequence.
That was the hardest I've laughed in a long time
I mean you haven’t seen the best one by far lol. Makes sense you wouldn’t be a huge fan. Blade 2 is fantastic
There's only 1 Blade!
*Deadpool looks to camera 😅
How you haven't seen the best blade movie is wild. Please go watch Blade 2.
@@FreefallSC I know right! I'm trying to find time to catch up on the older Marvel movies I've missed.
They should’ve done an absurd deep cut where Deadpool sees Wolverine from the back and the guy goes “no, I’m actually D-Man”
I legit forgot D-man existed until i read this comment. Which is also how I've been reminded of his existence every other time I've ever heard him brought up, I'm realizing...
It's the famous Todd McFarlane cover with the brown suit and showing the Hulk reflection in his claws
That was the gray Hulk tho, wasn't it?
I was sure of that too @@seppdecker
The brown suit cameo was a reference to Incredible Hulk 340. When Wolverine pops his claws there is a reflection of Hulk in his Claws.
The cover for Incredible Hulk #340 (1988) had the grey hulk in the reflection though. McFarlane did do a "classical homage variant edition" of that images for the cover of Hulk #13 (2023), with the green hulk. But I really think they should have used the grey hulk in the movie.
The Henry Cavil Wolverine... am I crazy or did they also reference him reloading his arms in Mission Impossible when he popped his claws?
Absolutely! I thought the same thing!
I missed that on my first watch but other folks have confirmed this! I'm gonna look extra hard for that next watch
@@TheDarkNateReturnsI think you should consider it a good thing if you missed it because catching it almost certainly means you're terminally online, which apparently so is Ryan Reynolds.
No bro
@@quintus920 right Henry doing some random motion during a scene and they’re trying to put two & two together like they knew he was going to be wolverine or like they’re related like no bro. 💀
I SWEAR I called that Johnny Storm cameo last year! I told a co-worker that Evans would seriously do a walk-on, fake people out, and say “FLAME ON!” I HOWLED!
I like how none of the cameos were just jokes. Even Johnny had the others actually care about his death.
Also the bottom of those gloves are clearly brown.
The Welsh suit Deadpool had my cinema losing their minds, a good gag for us
Def 10000% brown leather
I weirdly found the Happy Hogan scene really amusing (even though Jon Favearu would cameo in literally any MCU movie lbr) but I wish they'd dropped a Foggy Nelson reference in that scene
Henry Cavill as Wolverine makes me want to do so many pushups
Ahahahaha same!
What's stopping us?
*_Lets [redacted] go!_*
@ProtoMarcus our own self deprecating natures and behaviors
Especially when I realized I'm the same age.
I love you guys. Over the last year I’ve gone through your old videos and always catch the new ones. I’ve been a geek culture fan for almost 50 years, born with it, and it’s great to hear your views, opinions, and the comedy gold. Thanks for sharing your talent
That's very kind of you to say, thanks mate!
Blade was definitely an S tier cameo. Idk what yall crying about a sword for
They just love that sword.
Yeah, as someone who saw the original Blade on opening night, that was very special to see him kicking ass again.
Ong I damn near started clapping
@@Slim45ThaProducer blade def got the biggest claps at my theater lol
@@FFmaxxx it was only me and one guy that caught every reference besides Loki related show
I verbally said “oh my god” in a surprised tone when Wesley Fucking Snipes walked into the room, of all the cameos I expected he was NOT one of them.
Cavill was S+ tier
Gambit, Elektra, Pyro, Blade and Laura are not cameos, they are actual characters in the story and have an impact on the atory.
It was pretty cool realizing that THIS Punisher was meant to be the Ray Stevenson Punisher, and I have a feeling if Ray didn't pass away, he would have been fighting alongside them. War Zone is actually a lot of stupid fun, still can't believe they released it during the CHRISTMAS season.
Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson
I love that cut away to "here's The Thing though", well done laurence and/or ben.
5:58 that crowd shot in the forest? That's me down in the bottom right corner, with the headband and long blonde hair! It was fun being in the worst X-men movie!
Oh, cool! And it's definitely not the worst, it's like the 4th worst now lol
Don't be down on yourself, there are worse X-Men movies :) I'd go so far as to call Last Stand decent, but with some major untapped potential.
The cameo at the end of this video was hilarious, props to you guys for actually getting it
More like Mr Cameo Movies
Bloody got em
The best cameo was Rob Liefeld and his inability to draw feet.
there was a shoe shop in the background of the Deadpool Corps fight that was called ‘Liefeld’s Just Feet’
12:24 Henry Cavill. It was quick but it looked to me as if he locked and loaded his claws like he did his fists in the Mission Impossible: Fallout bathroom fight scene. (Which I think was really an unconscious straightening of the shirt sleeves, getting them out of the elbows and freeing his arms .. you know what I mean!)
I avoided all trailers and spoilers and I was surprised and thrilled by every cameo. I was clapping and laughing like a baby.
I honestly wasn't surprised at all about the Blade cameo? Wesley already showed he was willing to return (for a paycheck) in regards to Blade when he was on What We Do In the Shadows a few years ago.
According to IMDB, Toad was played by Daniel Medina Ramos. If you google him, you can find set pictures of him in costume. I have seen at least one other article say it's Ray Park
11:32 great edit!! 👏 👏
“Here’s the thing”
13:01 also absolutely brilliant editing!
Callisto and Lady Deathstrike were also their original actors: (Dania Ramirez and Kelly Hu)
Also, Blake Lively was in the credits as Lady Deadpool.
James is so old. Thats it. I hope he sees this.
They had a 4' 11" professional body-builder act as Short Wolverine's body, and CGI'd Jackman's face onto his head.
Hulk did fight wolverine in the brown suit and thats where the "hulk-reflected-in-his-claws" thing came from, but to be fair, hulk was grey at the time
They finally delivered on Thoughts and Prizes!!!! 😂😂😂😂 What a treat at the end!
Blade was the icing on the cake for me 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
It make the Ali’s Blade even more pointless
Some motherfuckers always trying to ice a cake.
His reveal was the best "Aww Hell naw" moment for me
That was my "Holy S***" moment
The icing skating up a hill cake?
Gambit was S tier for the outfit alone, also they didn't treat him as much of a joke, he was actually cool af
It was blake lively as ladypool read it in the credits
Reading is for nerds
@elliotcook3108 you read his comment nerd.
This is the best cameo AND the best joke. These editors are god damn joke snipers, and I nearly choked on my drink. @11:32
For me the Cap/ Human Torch cameo was S Tier. Calverine was great too! The short Wolverine was hilarious.
So glad i only watched one trailer and didn't have most of the cameos spoiled. Had no clue about Laura, for one, which was nice.
Paul Mullins the striker for wrexham fc was the welsh Deadpool
James and Mason fighting over Henry Cavill like the seagulls is what keeps me coming back 🙏
Channing looked and acted great ad Gambit. I personally loved it
His fighting stuff was the highlight of that Void stuff.
As someone who has seen every single live action theatrical Marvel movie from Blade to current day and will continue to watch live action theatrical Marvel movie these cameos made my little nerdy Marvel heart happy
I feel like Sabra Tooth should have been in here as an S tier for the fight fake out. Very well done.
But my favourite was of course Chris Evans with the Cap fake out. Top tier.
His name is Sabra Tooth because he loves hummus.
@@ericcampbell503 Is Sabra Tooth. Like Tooth, but better. I am old and no one will understand that reference.
The Cavill one was easily my least favourite. The cocking of the arms was good.
Blade was easily S tier. The lack of sword was disappointing.
Surprised there was no ranking for the barman who told them to leave the bar, Scots-Canadian comic actor Greg Hemphill, from BBC Scotland’s Still Game & Chewin’ The Fat, a bigger household name in Scotland than Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman combined. My Glasgow screening audibly gasped.
I can't believe Cavillrine was not S tier for you guys 😂
The Wolverine deleted scene suit is the brown and yellow one. Just look at the gloves. Much love, you guys are the best!
The "Didn't you fight a hulk in that suit?" Is a reference to the Todd McFarland cover of 'The Incredible Hulk #340'. It's a picture of the Hulk reflected in the blades of Wolverine's claws. They recreate the cover in that same shot, right after the line
pretty brutal guys
Actually Stan Lee has a cameo also, it's on the bus when Deadpool and Wolverine are fighting off the Deadpool horde. It was a nice homage.
Yeah, how did they miss/ignore it?
Wild there wasn't a Ghost Rider. Could've done another fakeout with Idris Elba, could've had the SHIELD version. Perfect setup with the flaming Honda too
Ghost Rider wasn't 20th Century Fox.
That’s was the cameo! I called it when the Honda set on fire 🔥
And the Thor cameo? I mean it's re-used footage from Thor The Dark World but I loved that bit so much!
X-23 is awesome, and I hope she becomes the permanent MCU Wolverine
YES THE GEN Z WOLVERINE WE NEED
I’m so glad I watched the first trailer months before this movie and not another one it made the movie 10x better
You forgot the Happy Hogan cameo but that was pretty early in the movie so I can't blame you forgetting
That whole room was full of cameos, the desk toy thing and kid's Iron Man mask from Iron Man 2, the photo of Tony & Peter from endgame, the Briefcase suit, Arc Reactor, it was a bloody bonanza mate
Wasnt really a cameo
@@thejustinsteffanIt was more of a cameo than some of the ones they listed.
@@waltascher not really
@@thejustinsteffan You can cut the scene entirely and not lose anything. Him telling Vanessa later he didn’t get into the Avengers is all you need.
Dudes! Your Tyler Mane cameo at the end had me literally laughing out loud!!! That was priceless :D

Channing Tatum is 🤮

Gambit is goddamn amazing what are you blabbering about? Do you want boring nothing Secret Invasion level characters?
@@li-limandragon9287 Some people still hate Channing, I remember being annoyed by how overexposed he was, only for him to gradually improve as an actor and show the world his comedic chops. He earned my respect for sure, it's not like he WROTE The Vow.
I love those rankings that totally don't make sence at the end :) You're masters of making me enjoying to be upset
For the THE WOLVERINE deleted scene - not really visible from the deleted scene, but production photos do show the suit is in fact *_brown and yellow_* - it also includes a "full suit", not just gloves and mask
I wondered why they didn't include the Origins Deadpool in the cameo scene, but then I remembered Deadpool already killed him at the end of Deadpool 2.
