Fun fact: The intelli-crops that Tony mentions in the first film are actually very useful to the entire franchise, as hunger issues are never an issue. Farming is compacted spectacularly, and then those compact farms are then spread wherever they need to be, and used as food is required, all making use of green energy and matching supply and demand. Additionally, before Tony chose to paint his suit the famous "hot rod red" and yellow, he initially chose green, and then blue, as he was inspired by one of his most financially stable and positive enterprises. He always looked forward to watching the crops being collected, and this "Blue Harvest" in his mind was a powerful image before deciding on the final colours he did when he saw different inspiration. Coincidentally, Blue Harvest is also the original working title of Star Wars, which was later obtained by Disney in much the same way Marvel was.
Downey never said that he hated the suit or wouldn't put it on again, just that he couldn't wear it and effectively act. When he was fastened into the suit he was in for many hours, no quick getting out for a bathroom run. He actually made it a point in interviews not to complain about the suit but to say how much he loved it and appreciated the opportunity.
That last point is really funny when you consider how Rachel Zegler complained about having to "wear a dress" on set for hours on end while playing the role of a Disney f--king princess of all things. Sounds like that's exactly what RDJ did not want to do. He understood that making public complaints over wearing an uncomfortable costume for a little while in exchange for the kind of fame and fortune the actual public can't even imagine could easily have ended him (again). RZ did not understand this, and made those comments about wearing a literal f--king princess dress, and did it all without the slightest sense of how unrelatable her plight is to normal people.
I'd have personally invested in the production side of these Marvel Movies if they were willing to have Sam Rockwell portray Hammer as his "Billy"rendition from Green Mile...
Fun fact: Iron man famously was turned into a literal iron man in a 90s comic run. He was captured by a evil wizard, who forcibly inserted a iron bar into his leg to perform the spell: giving Tony the Nickname “Rod Knee”. Fun fact that event was also the origin of Blue harvest, the working title of Star Wars. The original Star Wars!
I remember that run! The iron in his leg reacted with his skin and turned him blue, and to cure himself he needed to find a rare herb deep in the rain forest. Hence the comic's name "Blue Harvest" Which, coincidentally, was also the working title of Star Wars original Star Wars
1997's Batman & Robin, with their over the top garish colors, ruined superhero movies in Hollywood for the next decade plus, IE why X-Men (etc) all had to wear black leather costumes, and all of their colorful powers were muted to make them more "gritty and realistic" (/boring). No, it wasn't bad enough that Batman & Robin was a horrible movie: it retroactively made other genre movies worse.
Dunno how legit, but I heard they couldn't wrap their heads around making Wolverines yellow and blue costume look "cool" at the time and just went with leather with a little gold/yellow piping.
Not embracing the colours of the comics I think was fine initially for the first few x men movies when comic book movies were still a big risk. The issue is more they never learned to catch up with movies like DOFP and Apocalypse still giving the x-men team mostly indistinguishable costumes well after the MCU had come out and proven colourful costumes could work on the big screen, the only difference being they transitioned from boring black leather costumes to boring black paintball suit costumes
@@rorylynch7775 Agree. The first X-Men movies were pretty good overall. Colorful costumes probably wouldn’t have worked well with the tone of that movie. But Iron Man was a nice change of pace.

Fun fact: Reason why Terrence Howard left is he wanted a salary as big as RDJ since he would've wore the suit in the first movie (as War Machine), but he reportedly was too big to fit into it.
I’m not saying Marvel was wrong to replace Terrence Howard, because I think it had more to do with his presence off screen than on; and it’s nothing against Don Cheadle, he’s a fine actor, but simply as a fan of the films, Terrence Howard was a better Rhodie and it’s disappointing that they couldn’t make that relationship work. I put the accountability on Howard as much as I do Marvel. He tossed away a big future based on his stake in a single film. Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war. It’s very shortsighted.

You should do a Caravan Of Garbage on the Ocean's Eleven trilogy. Plenty of stuff to discuss there including the reboot with Sandra Bullock and the original with Frank Sinatra.
I love it when former Restaurant workers expose themselves by casually dropping niche terms like FIFO
I like that Whiplash going nuts over making Tony bleed is revisited in Infinity War when they make Thanos bleed
In 2009 at the local theatre, my friends and I flipped a coin to choose between seeing Iron Man or seeing Speed Racer. To this day I still haven’t seen the first Iron Man movie. Zero regrets about seeing Speed Racer though.
That movie is awesome. Would love to see it in theatres again
The over-enunciated "hacks" over a picture of Mike and Jay. 😅
Hack frauds!
Iron man 3 is one of my favorite mcu movies and I will not have my mind changed.
So excited to watch a compilation of the videos I've seen multiple times for the next hour 😄🤙
At 17:58 in Transformers The Last Knight, when Vivian Wimbley asked Cade Yeager what did he invent and Cade Yeager replied "things that you've heard of". Was that a reference to Intelli-Cromps?
The blue light in the arc is actually a reference to the original working title of the first iron man “blue harvest” which is also the original title of Star Wars episode 4
Low effort comment
16:14 "So was this all a dream?"😂
yes.
Loved all three of these movies. Robert Downey Jr is perfect in this role and he is worth every penny. I’m so happy for him that he turned his life and career around. Downey is super talented and always was, even way back in The Pick-up Artist. I will definitely read his autobiography whenever he writes one. Ok enough slobbering lol
I love it when Ben gets the last word in via the edit. Especially when he calls James and Mason on their errors.
Iron Man 2 is hilarious, and I love Mickey Rourke
Jackson seems like such a cool fucking guy 😂😂. Dude wasnt even upset they stole his likeness 😂
Terence Howard is now trying to convince us he is Tony Stark with his 1+1=2
I stumbled on the turtles garbage review and now subscribed to this Chanel.Ita the only review video I've saved ... I feel like these guys are tapped into my brain sometimes 😊
Never noticed that Jeff Bridges burns his finger on the cigar when he gets off the segway 16:38
The suitcase armour up scene is my fave! I hate the nanotech... Too easy . Vrrrrrrp and it's on..no thanks..give me clinking and clanking
Fun fact: Reason why Terrence Howard left is he wanted a salary as big as RDJ since he would've wore the suit in the first movie (as War Machine), but he reportedly was too big to fit into it.
Please bring back Justin Hammer! Best character in Iron Man 2
Iron man 1 is the best because it doesn't require any watching of any other movies, not part of any sagas etc
agreed.
Holy crap, Caravan of Garbage figured out Musk years ago.
Your HISHE for Ironman 2 is spot on, and is the best What If...? short that could ever be produced, if they had the courage.
Glad I didn’t stop watching after I watched your video “50 ways superman can kill batman” back in 2014 or so
I’m not saying Marvel was wrong to replace Terrence Howard, because I think it had more to do with his presence off screen than on; and it’s nothing against Don Cheadle, he’s a fine actor, but simply as a fan of the films, Terrence Howard was a better Rhodie and it’s disappointing that they couldn’t make that relationship work. I put the accountability on Howard as much as I do Marvel. He tossed away a big future based on his stake in a single film. Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war. It’s very shortsighted.
Stark was publicly knowing to be Iron Man in the comics back in the early 90s
HOWARD THE DUCK IS NOT TRASH! TIS a MASTERPIECE!!!!!
There is something very wrong with the people whom created that movie
@@trevorstevenson4038 I agree, that’s why it’s great.
good to know Mason wouldn’t let James’ Billy Joel comment pass without comment. one could even say he won’t back down
you forgot that in 2012 ant man snuck into his suit in the time heist - and then IW he has nanotech covering every inch. i know the timeline would be backwards but still lol
No, antman originally snuck into his armor in Civil War. He says something along the lines of “it’s me, your conscience, we haven’t spoken in a while”
Clive warren and Rebbeca de mornay were originally supposed to be Tony and Pepper pots
