Man anyone in recovery needs to hear this. As a recovering addict myself, this is extremely motivational to hear. It’s not impossible. We can win this war y’all. It takes every ounce of strength we have but eventually, we will get to that light at the end of the tunnel even if we feel hopeless and can’t see it

Just bought a house with my wife and life is good, Im happy every day and I gave up everything, no drinking, no drugs, just coffee and cigarettes. Powerful words from you brother stay positive and one day at a time good sir.

I am 19 months clean from a 17 year battle with opioid addiction. This was such an amazing interview I'm so glad I found it. I was an IV fentanyl user myself and ended up with Endocarditis, Sepsis, and Tricuspid Stenosis and waking up in the hospital on my death bed while doctors scrambled to save my life. After 3 weeks in the hospital I went to an inpatient rehab for 6 months and today I work as a Mental Health Tech at that same rehab that helped treat me and show me a better way to live. Recovery is possible. Don't ever give up. You're worth it.

We live in NYC and are surrounded by homelessness. My husband worries that I am not fearful enough now after watching these videos. I don't just walk by. @sciencenotstigma9534 ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely…there are as many ways to recover as there are people. They are now prescribing marijuana for underlying physical and mental health conditions and even like MAT, in some places. I’m glad people have options that are reducing substitution of fentanyl with substances that are severely addictive and cause damage to vital organs, like alcohol. MAT that comes with dependency, like methadone and Suboxone (used as prescribed), are longer acting but heal addiction in the brain by allowing nerve receptors to heal and stopping extreme highs and lows in the limbic system. Suboxone, in particular, does cause a high in people used to full opiates because it has a ceiling…it caps off opioid receptors and doesn’t allow dopamine to rise in the
bloodstream (even if someone takes more than prescribed). It’s still potentially dangerous to mix with other drugs (including certain medications) that cause CNS depression but are not, generally, prescribed with them. Personally, I don’t use THC. I have chronic pain but don’t respond well to it and experienced side effects due to autism. I take a low dose of Suboxone for pain and feel clearheaded, no euphoria or crash. I’ve worked my way down (and off, for a year, using kratom) with little withdrawal. However, degenerative bone & muscle disease got me on a narcotic schedule to begin with, so treating pain appropriately reduces my relapse potential & cravings are 0. Taking meds “for the rest of your life” is better than not having a rest of your life. Best MAT quote ever (not mine). If surviving and thriving is not success, idk what is. That’s just part of one story (mine)…there are so many! We do recover…whatever recovery looks like to you, go for it! This young man deserves life, and the world needs him. ❤

Zack young man. Well done indeed. It is not going to be easy. But it is possible. And you can do this.
Just over 33 years ago I began my sober journey. I am an alcoholic, started drinking at 17, took my last drink just after my 34th birthday. I ended up unemployed and unemployable. I was all but homeless. I had just about given up on myself. How dark it is before the dawn. I came to after my last night, laying on a cold hard seat at a railway station. I went home to my wife. It was 24th December 1989. My wife was very upset. Her only words, What a lovely Christmas Presant. I went to bed to sleep my hangover off. I have not taken a drink since.
You hang in and walk tall my friend. You paid a huge price to be where you are today. Clean and sober. I wish you well. Take care.

Oh Zach I am so proud of you and so happy for you that you are working so hard to get and stay off fentanyl! I lost my nephew to heroin (he got clean finally, was in a half way house, but felt he couldn't live in the real world so he killed himself by jumping off a bridge). Getting clean and staying clean is the hardest thing in the entire world to do. When I see addicts on the street or hear stories about one losing their battle against addiction - I alway imagine that man or woman boy or girl as a brand new little baby in their moms arms. That hurting person was someone's baby, young child, teenager, then person in the world. Their parents held them in their arms when they entered the world and saw only potential in them. Then the world beats them up and chews them up and spits them out and it becomes harder and harder to remember who they really are. Zack - thank you for this followup video and giving a face to this struggle. I will continue to lift you up in prayer.

Hi Zack, I went back and re-watched your first video. I almost didn't recognize you. I'm so happy and proud for and of you!!! Praying and so happy that you are doing well. Please continue to seek the best days of your life, and perhaps with a therapist as well. Good luck in your future endeavors and hopefully one day, I can buy something from your food truck.

My little sister is a fentanyl addict. Shes 26 and endured horrific childhood trauma. Everyday I worry that I will get the call that she's lost her battle and I'll have to bury my sissy. It keeps me up at night. She won't speak to me because I created boundaries. Watching this video gives me hope. Please keep fighting. ♥

Amazing interview, and it's amazing the success you have had! As someone who has done an interview it's impressive how well you did. Your going to help a great deal of people with this discussion. As a recovering addict that used for 20 years, you truly inspire me. In my experience, the journey will get tougher before it gets easier but I sincerely hope it's different for you. Good luck and Thank you!

Wow I had tears several times watching this. The raw honesty of withdrawal. The fight that you've put up to get clean and your insight into the drugs is just amazing! You can do this Zack, you really can! I believe you have what it takes to not only stay clean but maybe find a career in helping other addicts.

Much respect Zack, I'm 7 years clean from opiates and I thought the oxy withdrawal was bad and and at the end I was goin thru that every 2 days. I can't even nor want too imagine what fentanyl would be like, it's really good to see you back here man and show people, as bad as fentanyl is some addicts say u don't come back from it but bullcrap cuz your living proof that it can be done. Listen, don't be to hard on yourself that will get us everytime, It's time to move forward, keep your buddies in your prayers and start over. Congrats bud

I seized and hallucinated and every bad thing u can imagine. I'm back working and building my life and u inspired me to KEEP GOING. I'm so so proud of you brother!

He is such a good guy and I think God had his hand on him because he could have died many times. He should be so damn proud of himself. May God bless him. ❤️🇨🇦
