What a frigin masterstroke. Glad that Tom and the band got the global recognition later with a massive hit. Maybe one the more underrated Canadian geniuses.😮
My favourite Red Rider song. Huge on Chom 97.7 in Montreal. Incredible live performance. These guys were an incredibly unique band. This performance is incredibly tight.
This single ONLY!!! climbed to #48 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was from the debut album by Red Rider titled Don’t Fight It. IS IT JUST ME?!...OR DID THIS AMAZING SONG DESERVE AT LEAST!....TO BE IN THE TOP 10 BILLBOARD 🤔🤨❤️
Tom Cochrane and Red Rider were totally overlooked as a seriously good band and accomplished musicians. They definitely had a very unique sound. Their tunes still stand the test of time!!!
@LA Ace I totally agree!!!! It is so euphoric, AMAZING SONG, the melody is soooo haunting, but in a good way ❤ To me their music is Classic, lives forever
The original live performance for video is one to remember, especially the steel guitar at the end of this tune. The guy playing the steel guiter player, the sax player on the muppet band? A cool visual influence....
❤❤❤❤ Waiting by the shoreline In Somalia for your reply I need you to come see me That's no lie The guns are getting closer The sweat pours like dew That fell from the trees in Tripoli In the spring I'm white hot I can't take it anymore I'm white hot By the Somalian shore Yes, I'm burning to the core I need rain Cast out from the jungle With no rations or canteen For selling faulty rifles To the thieves in Tanzania Adventures and misfortune Nothing wagered, nothing gained I have wandered through the desert Found the ocean, not the rain I can remember the nights by The Strand in Tripoli We were so much cooler then I had you and my poetry to protect me We were so much younger then I need rain I'm white hot I can't take it anymore I'm white hot By the Somalian shore I'm white hot Yes, I'm burning to the core I need rain, I need rain, I need rain I can remember the nights by the sea in Tripoli Were were so much colder then I had you and my poetry to protect me We were both soldiers then Bolder then, colder then I need rain, I need rain, I need rain White hot White hot... Water Play "White Hot"
Thank you for the lyrics, though I don’t think Somalia is what is accurate. I can’t figure it out, but it can’t be Somalia. I’ll give it more time to figure it out, but not tonight. It’s way, way too late now. This a song from my long, long ago past. I’ll never grow up! No! I’m not Peter Pan… Quite possibly Petra Pan. LOL!!!
@@thereginacarpenter2230 lol. The Hip are the most overated Canadian Bank ever. Rush, BTO, The Guess Who, April Wine, Red Rider, Crash Test Dummies, Max Webster are just a few who were 10X better.

Was the audience part of the quaaludes for lunch bunch ?
That was musician perfection 10 star!!!
One of the very best songwriter poets Canada has ever produced. Thank you for your timeless, wonderful creations, Tom Cochrane!
36 years later and I'm still blown away by the talent they had in 1986. Canada PROUD. Thanks Tom and Crew.

UNBELIEVABLE! This guy is so underrated it's sickening. You go Tom Cochran!!!
Holy *&%^%$ they were TIGHT. This would be very early in the tenure of bassist Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve. Saw them in '88

My favourite Red Rider song. Huge on Chom 97.7 in Montreal. Incredible live performance. These guys were an incredibly unique band. This performance is incredibly tight.

Waiting by the shoreline
In Somalia for your reply
I need you to come see me
That's no lie
The guns are getting closer
The sweat pours like dew
That fell from the trees in Tripoli
In the spring
I'm white hot
I can't take it anymore
I'm white hot
By the Somalian shore
Yes, I'm burning to the core
I need rain
Cast out from the jungle
With no rations or canteen
For selling faulty rifles
To the thieves in Tanzania
Adventures and misfortune
Nothing wagered, nothing gained
I have wandered through the desert
Found the ocean, not the rain
I can remember the nights by The Strand in Tripoli
We were so much cooler then
I had you and my poetry to protect me
We were so much younger then
I need rain
I'm white hot
I can't take it anymore
I'm white hot
By the Somalian shore
I'm white hot
Yes, I'm burning to the core
I need rain, I need rain, I need rain
I can remember the nights by the sea in Tripoli
Were were so much colder then
I had you and my poetry to protect me
We were both soldiers then
Bolder then, colder then
I need rain, I need rain, I need rain
White hot
White hot...
Water
Play "White Hot"

No like I haven't been there. I just was stupid enough to say no. We have the talent. Canada has talent. .
