    I really don't think this obsession with coffee cups is a big deal.
    I have the Skoda and it is an excllent family car that ticks nearly all the boxes and drives smoothly and well.

      I guess it depends how much coffee you drink driving...i am hoping a medium Mcdonalds coffee fits as the holder can be adjusted slightly. I think some people not happy as they use their own plastic mugs which tend to be quite a bit larger /wider or bottles which clearly it is not designed for.

    Ive just taken delivery of an Enyak Sportline 85x i am a Ford Fan Boy (Fords all my life) and have gone EV for the first time but i prefered the Enyak to the Explorer.

  • @mlykke

    Good review but a few things were incorrect. All Enyaq 85's charges at 175kwh. Only the Explorer AWD charges at 185 kwh, the other versions only charge at 135kwh. Real world testing shows that the Skoda maintains a higher average chargerate. Both cars drive really well but the Ford has significant more noise a speeds above 50mph compared to the Enyaq. Combined with the fact that the Enyaq has quite a lot more room, both in the driver seats as well as the trunk, just makes it an overall better car. The Explorer is closer to the new Skoda Elroq in size, which is a much cheaper car and better value.

    A very fair comparison I would like to say.
    Although what if you pair up the Explorer with the Elroq? Still has the same sized boot and interior space will be the same, and I'm guessing the Elroq starts at around £6k cheaper than the Enyaq which that's probably more like for like but with a huge savings over the Explorer 👍

    • @mlykke

      The Elroq is the better car of those two and a much better value than the Explorer.

  • @mikashki
    @mikashki 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    The new Skoda Elroq is going to be a better comparison to the Explorer, similarly 20cm shorter and a 100 liters smaller trunk than Enyaq. Yet Elroq's other dimensions inside and outside are the same as Enyaq's, so I'd expect Elroq still to be slightly roomier than Explorer. And Elroq still has more physical buttons (on steering wheel and dash) 😅

  • @lumajs
    @lumajs 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    The Ford looks instantly outdated, inside and outside. Rectangular, maybe even more than Škoda cars, but with less character. Vicky, among a hundred of videos of the Enyaq I watched, you will always be the pioneer with the yellow concept car.
    Amusing that Germans turned Americans to the siblings of us Czechs again, like in May 1945 when General Patton came to my Pilsner home. But now in a different way.

    • @mlykke

      It doesn't. True one pedal drive requires the car to go to a full stop, which the Skoda doesn't do. The braking on the Skoda is also less than you would typically expect in one pedal drive cars, such as Tesla, Nissan Ariya and similar.

  • @enyaq_gorm
    @enyaq_gorm 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    You say the cup holders are small and your cup is standard size but mine are standard and fit my enyaq perfectly. I actually asked Škoda about this at an event recently and they (and all the German and Scandinavian owners) were baffled because they think the cup holders are a standard size. Maybe the UK has lots of people with huge American sized cups 🤷

    • @mlykke
      @mlykke หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The cup holders in the Enyaq is substantially smaller than just about any other car that has been made for the last 20 years. Even fitting a regular 330ml can is a tight fit. Only the Enyaq on the MEB platform has that issue, both the Explorer, Audi Q4 etc. have more normal sized cupholders. Although their placement isn't always optimal. So a small detail that Skoda should improve in future models.

    • @enyaq_gorm
      @enyaq_gorm หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mlykke I put water bottles in all the time and they fit fine. Like I say I raised itwith Skoda with other owners present and no one from any other country understood why it was an issue. The Germans, Finns, Czechs and Swiss owners all just looked confused by my question. The Enyaq cup holders are huge cmpared with my son's Fabia

    • @mlykke
      @mlykke หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@enyaq_gorm It's not huge in any way. It's smaller than just about any other car. When it's a tight fit to fit a regular 330ml soda can that fits with room to spare in all other cars, then that is clear evidence that it's quite small in the Enyaq. There's a reason it's been mentioned in quite a lot of reviews and that people are looking at third party options or even 3D printing solutions for it. It's not a deal breaker for an other wise awesome car, but it's definitely an issue that should be improved in future models.

    • @enyaq_gorm
      @enyaq_gorm หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mlykke no I wouldn't say it is huge but standard size cups and bottles fit it fine. And it is much bihher than say the Skoda Fabia. I don't really use cans so can't comment but cups fit just fine. Big bottles are meant to go in the bottle holders.

    • @mlykke
      @mlykke หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@enyaq_gorm I'm sure cups on the smaller side will work. But the issue with cans and even normal 0,5 liter soda bottles where some fit and others don't, i not the typical cleverness you would expect from Skoda. It would have been great if they had used the same cupholder style as the Audi Q4 and many other car brands where the opening is bigger and inside there is 4 small springloaded arms that adjust to whatever size you put in.
      Slightly annoying but it wasn't enough to stop me from ordering one. I'm getting my Enyaq delivered in January and I'll have to deal with it then.
