Where's Spring Reverb Mode? - I accidentally had the pedal set to Plate when I meant to have it set to Spring. To avoid confusion, I just cut out the "Spring" portion of the video, although it's still in the Intro demo jam (because it *was* set right there).
One of the "most underrated pedals" in recent memory. This tiny box Sounds phenomenal. I have always been impressed by the MXR M300. Great tones, playing & production to showcase this little beast.
Really liked the room actually! I really appreciate the functionality in multi reverb pedals of having a “I just need some verb on this” setting that sounds good Nothing crazy just a tiddly bit of space Dude! Having the capability to use a TRS in even with the internal switch is much appreciated. Noice.
Yes, I meant to say something about that in the video. For someone like me, with a tendency to want to make sure I'm "using all the pedal", having a physically small pedal with a few varied options that all sound good is a lot less of a liability on my board than something like an RV-200.
Nice playing! We have five reverb/echo pedals, including two that have multiple reverb programs. The M300 gets more use than any of them. Actually now that I look at the stats, it's the most-used pedal in our video series. I don't pretend to be an expert on pedals, but having tried a bunch of reverb pedals across a bunch of different tracks, I can say the M300 has become the one we reach for first.
This video made my 750W LG studio system sound sexy! A really great sounding demo, well mixed and demonstrated. Continued success and again ... many - many dropped picks and broken strings to 'ya!
@@StompboxBreakdown yep, that’s what I meant about this one. It’s simple with a few options. A huge deluxe version would be a nice addition to the line, not necessarily a replacement. And that shirt, I love it!
Hand one of these and it was fun to push it into an envelope filter since it would keep the envelope open longer and close or decay more slowly since the verb was gradually dropping input signal. I use the mxr bass envelope on guitar since you can do wet and dry blend.
A few months ago, my old malekko spring chicken died and I was torn between this and the walrus fathom. I ended up with the walrus just because I found it cheaper used, but this one still looks fun. I’m not a big reverb guy so just wanted something small with a few options. I do kind of miss the spring chicken tho, that thing could get nasty but I didn’t use it often.
You kill it with your intro jams, and this one is no exception. Tasty stuff! Beautifully done, Jeff. I'm curious, how do you go about incorporating drums into your jams? I've always struggled to incorporate reverb into my sound, but you've encouraged me to give it another go. Do I smell a NPD approaching...? Thanks for a great video! And, here's a request to consider doing a vid featuring the Zvex Fuzz Factory. It's a staple on my board, but I've never quite understood how the blasted thing works! Cheers!
Thank you so much! I haven't played around with fuzzes a lot, but that's something I'm looking to change soon. There will definitely be a video about that at some point. This particular demo jam, I had some chords jotted out for a song that I wanted to do with a band, but then realized that if I started experimenting with different rhythms and inserting deliberate rests between them, it not only became more interesting, but a good platform for a reverb pedal demonstration. I use EZ Drummer 3 for my drums, and I try to spend as little time in the program itself as possible. I used to architect the whole drum part, nearly beat by beat, but now I just pick something and shape what I'm playing around it. It's sort of an anti-option paralysis thing, and it also sometimes forces me to discover new rhythms that aren't the ones I go to out of habit.
@@StompboxBreakdown I guess I now need to fall down the rabbit hole of EZ Drummer...! I've been simply using the kits in Garageband, and changing them up by adding effects and shifting EQ to pull them away from the stock kits. But I'd be interested to see what other options are out there (like EZ Drummer).
Two Reverend Jetstreams, actually. But yeah, that first one with the Gemini Mercury Ones is such a workhorse. I think I've played it more since getting it two years ago than I have any other guitar ever.
No disrespect, but that’s hardly a surfy drippy spring sound. I think it’s a nice reverb pedal, and the other modes sound great, but the spring mode probably isn’t going to do it for the folks that really like spring reverb. Source Audio’s True Spring does an amazing job, but then again it only does spring.

Your Insane Klon Posse shirt is amazing
Thank you. Got it from chibson.com

Your reaction hearing pad mode was awesome. Keep making excellent videos!!!!
OMG This the perfect reverb for my OCD and option paralysis...I am in love! ... I think?

This pedal and the M305 Tremolo are two of MXR's new classics for sure
second comment for Phaser Report, i see two Small Stones... DOD 201... Boss PH-1R....I think even that Ibanez PM7? i sense a phaser video coming
@@ab8817 You got it

Thank you so much!! I can understand why, it’s packing some very musical reverbs on there.

I’m glad there are SOME people out there listening to the videos on a system where the little details get a chance to shine!
That sounds freaking amazing, I love it. I like the small non option paralysis size.
There's a lot to be said for the whole option paralysis thing. Right now I'm thinking about a video about pedals for people who like to avoid it.

Oh that's a neat trick. I like it.
This is why I call reverb "the make-longer device" in my head.
GREAT sounding pedal!
I love this pedal, it's my favourite standard sized reverb.
Awesome video as always! Thank you!
Thank YOU!! I'm glad you approve
Nice sound, as always in your vids. Btw: I use a slapback delay into parallel loop of my amp. It gives a kind of predelay before the reverb.

The humbuckers sound kinda strat-like! It sounds great. I have the Charger HB and was wondering why mine sounded different.
is this a bad time to say that one of the best room reverb sounds of all time is on All Star by Smash Mouth
Just listened to it today. You’re so right.
I think the spring reverb is the red LED
Crap, you’re right. I goofed there.
@@StompboxBreakdown good demo anyway. Keep it up.

Yeah, it looks like I didn’t have the Spring mode selected when I recorded the video. I’m gonna have to see what I can do about fixing that.
