Even looking back at Goku and Vegeta's past teachers (I use "Teachers" very loosely in Vegeta's case) Goku has had a lot of very zen sorts of teachers who focus on training the body and clearing the mind, Grandpa Gohan, Master Roshi, Kami, even King Kai. Vegeta on the other hand had egotistical schemers and cunning, manipulative and brutal "Mentors" first in his own father, and, most of all, strange as it sounds, Frieza who was the standard of power Vegeta sought to surpass in his early life and probably learnt a lot from, even if Frieza wasn't officially his mentor, I'd wager all of early Z Vegeta's cunning and talent for underhanded strategy, much of it he likely picked up from observing Frieza, and now Vegeta is learning directly from a G.O.D, Beerus.
You forgot one of Goku's other early mentors, Korin.

I think it’s a total of lack of teachers for Vegeta past whatever age he was when Frieza destroyed his home planet. From that time on he was his own teacher. It appears no one in Frieda’s army taught him anything and Frieza didn’t even bother to train himself let alone Vegeta.
Imo Vegeta’s path to ultra ego was a result of finally having a teacher in Whis, experiencing significant improvement from that training, which helped give him the confidence to seek out more teachers and carve his own path. Up until meeting Whis his only path was to achieve whatever form Goku achieved solely on the basis “well we’re both Saiyans so I should be able to do that too”

The point that was made about the headband interests me a lot. It’s also very reminiscent of Broly and Paragus, especially in the old Z movie.

They kinda used that concept with gas after his headband was removed he went into a berserker state but later gained control over himself as well as Kale and broly so I can definitely see the parallel.
Whis is one of my favorite new characters in DB
Frank Sinatra's "Balls in Yo Jaws" used to play at my uncle's house all the time when I was young! I remember him picking me up in his van after t-ball practice, it was cool because it always had candy! He always had a warm popsicle in his pants too, cream-filled I think? He used to compliment me on how good I could keep secrets. The song really takes me back to a better time!

I always saw goku calm and vegeta aggressive. Opposite always make the best combination. Like ryu or ken or characters who have Opposite elements like fire and ice.
@@SpikeTheWolf That’s why Goku has UI which requires calm. It rewards him for fighting in a way that is calm and without disorder.
So basically ui is triggered by being calm and in control while there's a jarring shock to the emotions this is what merus said in the manga and beerus says he only focuses on destruction and nothing else and he is detached from any attachments therefore his mind is clear and only focuses on Destruction so beerus achieves the flow by using one mindedness and whis and the angels achieve it by being unbiased and unbothered and calm.

I understand that the body and mind are supposed to be balanced. However, is there any metaphoric reason for Whis the body being stronger than Beerus the mind?
Is Toriyama saying that the body is more important?
Whis makes a point clear that the body, separated from the mind, give more freedom in fighting because the body acts on its own without the mind/brain to govern your actions. It not that the mind is not so important, is about controling both to have better access to your full fightning potential.
I interpret it like this:
To me, whis is telling them to drop that saiyan battle pride and even training. In a sense, he is saying stop caring about fighting but never get careless. Goku always wants to fight the strongest instead of just going all out at the beginning.
Soo is goku version of ui a better(not stronger) version of whis? Since he is calm etc while goku uses his emotions?
@@SpikeTheWolf absolutly not, is impossible Goku's version is stronger than an angel. True UI is the mind calm yes, but the heart is letting out without emotional compromises fighting the way the body wants

The problem I often have when writing stories is my own Western values, inspirations and philosophies. The stories I come up with don’t fit with the philosophies that build up and work in the world of DragonBall. The fanfiction I already wrote takes inspiration from the Tower of Babel and from the Snow Queen. The protagonists are already much stronger than the antagonists, and the antagonists need to be stopped rather than overcome. The next story I want to write does have enemies to defeat, but the heroes become strong enough to defeat them only once the people of Earth have made the protagonists their heroes. Belief comes first, ability follows. The central question is what could change society, and should it change? And the answer is that fear can push people away from some behaviors, but people seek leaders or heroes to tell them what to do. And that yes, the culture could do with a bit of change, if we want to accept whatever new technologies and ideas that await us, but balance it with our desires to hold on to ancestral traditions.
haha yes, that is exactly what's going on with callmearj ultra vegito series, it's good for western fans but for eastern fans and fans who are more into and have knowledge over eastern religions, that ultra vegito story is so bad because it's far removed from eastern philosophies and martial arts roots that dragon ball franchise always have.

Basically the Angel's are there to babysit the G-O-D's and keep them at bay.
Zeno is the reprsentation of a Child, creator of everything, as kids have a very fertile imagination, but destroyer of everything, as kids can lose interest in an instant turning anything essentially useless if they stop using it. GODs are the representation of pets, they live based on instinct and caprice and can ruin anything around the house over the most trivial things. Mortals are the representation of toys, they exist to entertain the deities and GODs might even rough them out a litte bit if they are bored. Angels are the representation of caretakers, in the case of the GP and tamers in the case of Angels like Whis, they educate children and pets.

I disagree with this interpretation.
1) Whis and Beerus aren’t equals.
2) God of Destructions are not evil.
