- Here's another full classic truck body build video. This time its a 1967 International Harvester Scout 800. 50 hours of work edited down to a peppy 19 minutes, including "1st ride" footage at end. May 2015. *Build notes below.
Materials used:
-3/4" pine board,
-1/4" masonite (press board)
-3mm Komacel (pvc sheet)
-1mm styrene sheet
-clear plastic from blister packs and juice bottle
-2mm thick wire
-aluminum L channel
-Carpenter's wood glue
-thick CA glue
-shoegoo
-wood filler
-green putty
-white acrylic wood primer paint
-various coloured acrylic craft paints
-Flat black acrylic wood paint used thick or thinned with water for "wash" paint.
Tools used:
-Hand saw
-drill
-jigsaw
-sharp boxcutter
-Dremel rotary tool with 60 grit carving wheel
-sandpaper holders with 60 and 120 grit paper
-various clamps
-steel rular
-lighter
-scribing tools
-leather hole punch
-pliers, scissors and screwdrivers
-couple wore out paintbrushes
Chassis:
-GCM 4ten chassis, front trans mount and transfer case.
-RC4WD k44 axles, wheels and Mudcountry tires.
-Axial trans
-Tamiya long leafsprings
-Tekin FXR esc and 45t brushed motor
-spektrum radio
Cameras:
-Canon 60d
-Gopro hero3

The level of build quality and the excellent videographer/wheeling/driving at the end/editing of the build really made this fun to watch. Excellent work all around. That mini offroad park is fantastic!

50 hours of highly skilled labor at a modest $100 per hour + materials would value this work of art at $10,000+. I sure hope you are making a living at this.
I don't know about 10 grand cause most people who pay that for an RC body isn't gonna run it at 10 grand.

I realize that I'm a bit late to the party, but this IH Scout build is easily the third or fourth video of yours that I've binge-watched today alone. I'm sure that I saw your F-150 build on another site online some time ago, but only subbed to your channel today. As one who was building semi trucks with their first Lego Universal (NOT Duplo) set - originally received at 3 years of age, got various construction sets for birthdays and Christmas, built numerous model kits (and have hoarded scores more unbuilt ones, waiting for that "someday" to arrive), scratch-built various dioramas for school projects, even earned a Uni degree in Industrial Design - and would love to get back into crafting objects after a far-too-long, unintended hiatus - you are most definitely an inspiration! Your intense attention to detail and creative use of resources is something that I can totally appreciate and get psyched up about! Thank You!

Headquake137 this is by far one of the best videos building an RC body that I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. Your attention to the detail work is exquisite. Before becoming disabled I tried to do this kind of build many years ago before RC became a big thing, but was never this good, so you my friend are a very rare talent. I only wish they had the cameras back then so I too could share my previous work. You have inspired me to try again and get it on film.
