Mold is heated to at least 200F, usually more. Big flat surfaces that are hard to evacuate air need higher temps to give time for air to be removed if there is no evacuation holes.
Awesome video. Redesigning my machine so ovens are not up above platen... question: what moves the buck up and down? Pneumatic actuator? Size? One or two? I see the linear actuator that moves the frame over the ovens and back. Currently, my frame moves up to oven, then down to platen.... but this, as you know, does not release the mold from the plastic after forming... thanks in advance for your reply
I called Simon at SIBE Automation. he was more than happy to answer questions. He told me it was High-Temperature Silicone Rubber Strip with Adhesive-Back, 1/2" x 36", 1/8" Thick Part Number 1466N14 from McMaster Carr.
Hello, I wish I could say it was some magic formula. But to be honest it is just instinct at this point. A big factor is don't let the plastic get to hot and sag a lot. Too much stretched plastic is your real enemy. The blocks just assist when you are out of options. If you haven't already check out his video. th-cam.com/video/J8KRDmiUu5o/w-d-xo.html
We use 0.020, .030, .040, .060 for our parts. Cheapest place is a local supplier to you. Shipping small quantities will make it less affordable. So a local source is better.
You wouldn't by chance have or make any 72 Vaterra Bronco bodies would you......I have been looking for a year now and can't find any....you are obviously very good at what you do. Thanks for sharing your video
Hello, I have a question, I am from Costa Rica and they do not sell lexan sheet here, is there an alternative that works? Use petg but it is very weak (off-road buggy)
Very cool, fun to watch!
How made that master molding?
I mean matras?
Great video! What kind of temperature are your moulds? Hope the move is going well 👍🏻

Nice work, is the air holes are under the model ?
The mold is hollow and has holes in it.
hello excellent work I want to ask what kin of plastic are you using for those bodysuits or what are they called and what is the thickness?
Nice work

One large actuator unit for lower platen.
Thanks for the info. What is the material that seals the frame (the ORANGE STUFF)? Thanks again for your help

@@hyepocps3749 Yeah think that is about same stuff we got from McMaster on our own.
What kind of plastic is this, I’m going to make this vacuum heat machine. Just need the knowledge lol. Love the air gun tip!
Lexan / polycarbonate. Pet can work too
What temp is the lexan and how is it maintained during the vacuum process?
Temp of Lexan usually is about 400F or more when it comes out. Mold is heated to at least 200F, usually more.
@@SabulaTech Thanks, I didn’t realise that the mould needed to be that much hotter. Looks a satisfying job 👍🏻
Where do I buy that type of plastic and what is it called and how thick does it have to be?
Niece vid 👍
The mould looks like solid from one piece, how do you remove it from stamping?
Last part of video shows it lowering down out of the body for removal.
I didn't notice that 😅 THX
How do you determine block form factor and distance from the mold in order to prevent webbing?

How are the molds made and what material. I am active in seeking to make custom rc bodies that are one of a kind.
Same question. I have a daughter who wants me to build a crawler that uses a Cadillac SRX body to copy her vehicle. Aye!!!!
Any idea if a 90's Toyota Supra is possible for 1/5 scale? My absolute dream car and all I can ever find is 1/10 : (
Anything is possible. But the cost is always the issue. Probably be over 1K to get tooling made for that.
What was the thickness of the sheets used here? Can you tell me where I can buy them cheap?

@@SabulaTechunits in cm?
where they sell it
Will any of those car bodys fit a traxxas slash?
Probably not without some custom mounts. These are made for RC cars and trucks that predate that Slash by a lot.
Do you take request ??? 1986 chevy monte carlo ss with t tops???? How much

sorry none of those.
I’m looking for a 200mm Jeep DJ5 postal vehicle. Have you done one of those?
Sorry no.
What is that music at 1:49 ? Love it. Love watching too.
What material was used for the master plugs?
It is a 2 part heat tolerant resin/epoxy with aluminum powder.
Hello, I have a question, I am from Costa Rica and they do not sell lexan sheet here, is there an alternative that works? Use petg but it is very weak (off-road buggy)
PETG is probably your next best thing unfortunately.
Where i can buy the sheets
Is this for the company BOLINK , i remember that Merkur XR4Ti
Yes , we have a bunch of old Bolink molds.
Are the molds your own design or are you duplicating them?
Most of ours are original Bolink molds, not reproductions.
Can you do custom bodies if a mold is supplied?
Yes we can. We even do products not related to RC occasionally.
@@SabulaTech what kind of material should the mold be made of?
@@SabulaTech is a plaster buck ok?
Where can i find that Oldsmobile Aerotech body?
Where are your vacuum holes in your table??
Professional setups do not normally have holes in the table. The holes are in your mold/buck.
Can you make Honda del sol body’s for the 1:10 scale
No, we probably won't, But that is a cool idea.
@@SabulaTech that’s be awesome
You willing to make a custom body for me? I will pay for it
If you make the mold we can run it.
If I had the time and materials to make the mold then I would just make the body as well. That's why I asked you. Great video thanks for your time
@@mikea9521 did you find solution ?
No
Do you have the old Midnight Pumpkin mold?
