    Nobody is buying these to drive deck screws…but you definitely showed it’s ability … the vessel is super compact which I like

      I agree dumb comparison. I mean they could bring in a 24v drill to make them all look bad. I think the vessle is a manual with power assist to make it faster taking them in and out.

    I love my older model Craftsman's screwdriver, like you stated, the light is super bright. It's a beast to. I've been using it for a Lil over a year now removing dash panels in heavy duty trucks. Those things use allot of torx screws and are screwed in tight! Still going strong though, wish I could get another one like it! 👍

    Thx for a thorough review. I’m looking for a electric screwdriver that is between the DeWalt Gyro and the Bosch GO2. Just want something small for low torque applications. Your video contributed to my research. I appreciate you taking the time doing this review.

      Is the only 4V gyroscopic one that is discontinued at Lowes and no longer available. There is one on Amazon but the picture looks kind of different and the lights look different.. I can’t guarantee it’s the same..

  • @itsgalf
    @itsgalf ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Agreed, the older 4V Craftsman has the right amount of torque for my needs. I also love the gyroscopic (maybe mostly the large paddle switch since it's always easy to find).
    The new one is just collecting dust because it doesn't have enough torque and it gets annoying trying to find the forward/reverse switch all the time.
    Just wish it was a little more compact like the one. Waiting for a company to make something like the old 4v Craftsman that's just a bit smaller

    @AutobahnDan I have the DeWalt model you've mentioned along w/multiple other cheapo Chinese brands. I'm an electrician so I need decent speed and torque the most but prefer tools like these that easily fit in my pocket so the DeWalt is too bulky for me and a tad too slow compared to others I've used.
    In my experience w/most small 4v electric screwdrivers you trade speed for torque or vice versa and it's hard to find one with a good balance between.
    Minimum specs IMO:
    Handheld screwdriver, not a pistol grip/convertible style (if I need a drill I'll use a real one.)
    Locking chuck (too many annoyances w/magnetic)
    Compatible w/standard 1/4" hex bits (no proprietary bs)
    Rpm 300+ (rpm's in low/mid 200's or less isn't worth my time)
    3nm+ on electric torque, 10nm+ w/manual torque.
    2000+Mah battery (preferably removable if avail)
    USB rechargeable (USB C preferred)
    * Additional features but not exactly deal breakers:
    Capable of using two sided combo bits.
    Led light (on temporarily or manual on/off is best)
    Hand sized around same as a regular screwdriver, some are too bulky for practical use.
    All that being said one of the better models I've used which fits most of the bill at a decent low price is the Enertwist 4v, good speed/torque/size/battery life, just wish it had stronger gears since I've stripped 'em a few times over torquing stuff and battery is not replaceable (although it's possible if you know how to)
    Skil model w/built in voltage detector has decent features but a bit on the slow side.

  • @needsrepair
    @needsrepair 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually some model has several screwdriver bits but Japanese bits are longer than US bits, so back side of package we could choose how many bits I want. I hope you would understand what I said.

    • @needsrepair
      @needsrepair 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also the Vessel one’s torque is week is that made for electrician. Japanese electrician use +2 driver much, then takes out home’s switches and fasten. So don’t need so much torque. If they want to use much more torque, they are using Makita or HIKOKI impact driver. So they do not need or don’t want have so much torque, they are using Vessel.

    • @AutobahnDan
      @AutobahnDan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@needsrepair I think the best feature of that is the ball grip. I didn’t check the play on it in the video but it is not too bad and the smoothness is a little bit better than the craftsman but not by much.

    • @AutobahnDan
      @AutobahnDan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@needsrepair as for the bits, It’s quite a research project to find them.. definitely worth it to go first with the ratcheting ball grip and try out different bits and drivers first. Upgrading to the 220 USB would be a complement to them.

    • @AutobahnDan
      @AutobahnDan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! I haven’t drained it down yet to see the charge time, but I’m pretty sure it’s about the same as the other 2 (3-4hrs) It would have to jump up to a usb-c or a fatter cable with an AC adapter to charge faster..

    • @Dustysa4
      @Dustysa4 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AutobahnDan Agreed, that's where the DeWalt and Makita 8v (7.2v) models really shine. Well that and they have much more power and features. I subconsciously go for a standard (non-powered) screwdriver for tedious tasks. Otherwise, I just grab my 18v drill in screwdriver mode. I have these types of little electric screwdrivers, but I never reach for them. They just feel clumsy to me when I need to do delicate work, and slow when I need to do speed work. But I still buy them because my name is Dustin, and I'm a tool addict.

    The current Craftsman cordless screwdriver is terrible.
    I bought one last month and the charging port broke the first time I went to charge it, the replacement burned up after a couple weeks of use.
