@@zoeyvanbeek187 Why not 2 or 3 cylinders has nothing to do with running all 3 at the same time... You can have 2 motors run straight ahead only and use the center motor for running and turning...

Using the same 14" prop isn't that comperable as the gear ratio on these outboards are not the same. The 3-cil Yamaha has 1.85 the 2-cil has 2.08 and the Suzuki 2.27 (not sure about the Suzuki)
@@dylanlivingston5024 the gear ratio is different meaning it is DESIGNED for different props. If you don't understand matching prop pitch and size to outdrives you won't understand why the ratios are such a big deal
Something was not right with it. That 25hp 2cylinder yami comes from Yamaha with a 9 7/8 x11 1/4 prop so a 14 pitch likely is not right for that motor either.
The Suzuki is probably geared much different than the Yamaha's and not allowing the 14 inch pitch prop to turn at the best rpm range for top speed. Or else it just may be out of tune or just a very tired engine.
There is a stop preventing the butterflies from opening all the way on purpose. If it is shaved off, the motor will be a 40 horsepower. However, my husband's Suzuki on a War Eagle 1542 flat-bottom with no jack plate runs 32 mph. You have something wrong with that motor. The three cylinder Suzuki is selling for as much now as when they were new here in Arkansas because they are that strong. Also, not every motor runs as efficiently with the same prop setup.
I live in Batesville Arkansas. I also have a 1542 War Eagle with a 25 Johnson on it. It'll run about 26 mph with just me in it and just over 20 with 2 people.
Also, why is it so high out of the water. It is mounted higher than the other two were. How is the prop supposed to get a "bite" in the water when the prop is blowing out of the water.
the boat market is amazing, you can pickup shit boats with motors, couple easy fixs and mint motor, flick the hull cheap and you end up with a good cheap engine. jet boats are interesting too, lots of shit ones around, pull the units, vapour blast, redo the impeller/wear ring, sell the unit for the cost of the whole boat.
you may find suzuki did that deliberately,if you adjust the mechanism manually, filing etc it makes more horse power, and there choke system works on the middle carb as well normally

If the test was conduted to determine which is the fastest motor from al 3, the water test was conduced erroneously. To be fair which motor achieves the highest top end speed must reprop every motor tested to run at its middle wot revs factory stated while solo or 2 up testing. For that will need to install an induction tach to check max wot revs each motor achieved, then go for a prop maximization. You don't know if same 15 pitch prop used on all 3 motor is a good water performer for each one as don't know at which middle wot rpm each one is revving at. All motors must be 101% healthy and running strong. My 450 Rib powered with a 2 strokes 18 HP Tohatsu propped spot on will leave far behind any of those 3 motors which runs very slow to be 25 HP ones.

THE POSITION OF THE PROPRELLER, IS VERY IMPORTANT; IF SUBMERGED, THE BOAT RUN "HEAVY" AND FUEL CONSUMPTION IS GREATER. IN THE OTHER HAND, WHEN THE BOT RUN "EASY" THE FUEL CONSUMPTION IS LOWER, SOMETIMES, VERY LOWER. THIS MAY BE SEEN, WHEN USING A PLANNING BOAT, MADE OF FIBERGLASS, WOOD OR ALUMINIUM. SUCH KIND OF BOAT, MUST RUN FAST, FOR THE PLANNING, IN OTHER WORDS, NEEDS A HIGH POWER TO RUN. AFTER THE PLANNING, GENERALLY AT 18 M/H, IF ONE USE THE POWER TRIM, THE BOAT MAY RUN FASTER, UP TO 4 M/H WITHOUT MOVE THE ACELERATION DEVICE. SIMILAR OCCURS WITH JON BOATS.
