+Sadness Coming I think they are. Theyre just not the talk of the town, I guess. They have a pretty big fanbase here in Philippines :)
it's not that they're not famous, or popular, but as I like to say the fangirls haven't gotten to them yet. They have an older audience who doesn't follow ever single move they make. :)
They were kinda of well known for many years, they have had a good audience for a long time, they just don't have too much of a "fan base" like the kinds you see with other bands nowadays online and stuff, but they definitely still bring in the crowds at concerts and such.
Plus a lot of their fans were listening to them mostly back when this kind of stuff was released like almost 10 years ago
Music like this (and related genres), in terms of popularity, has been on a steady decline for a few years now, sadly. To their credit, though, Mayday Parade used to be one of the front-runners of the emo/emopop scenes in 2009-13ish. If you take a look at their 2015 (and onwards) releases, you'll see that, compared to the viewership and reach they used to bring, they're starting to fall in to obscurity.

I love Mayday Parade so much, their music influences people lives and I think that's beautiful.
They connect with the listeners so, if someone told me that Mayday Parade saved their life I wouldn't be surprised.

I listen them when my boyfriend left me. they were like only thing here for me, me and their music- no friends, no boyfriend, no one. just music, mostly their and bvb.. it was 5 years ago. i tought there is no hope in life for me anymore. now im 18, in happy relationship, finishing school and livin my life. THINGS REALY GET BATTER. I tought they dont, but life showed me they do. thanks to all lyrics of them and bvb and ALL. stay strong, time will ease the pain, BUT some memorys never disappear. If they do I wouldnt be here listening this song remembering it all..its like looking at old life full of memories while living new, happy and EMPTY life. maybe bad memories are batter than fake life and fake happines?

I love this song. So much. Partly because Mayday Parade is amazing. And also because this is MY song. It describes EXACTLY how i felt for 5 months. An older guy took my heart, told me he loved me, and took it back. He said he lied about it. My heart was crushed and all i wanted was him to say he loved me again, I was SO vulnerable during that time, I cried every night and I WAS weak. I didn't feel like doing anything. And I was in a long depression for 5 months until he said we were just friends

After being on youtube as a new band, I know how much hate people can give when reading these kinds of comments...but I think Mayday Parade fans might be a little nicer.
We are a Pop Rock band based out of Cali and have a few hundred followers, which is pretty impressive, but we'll never get noticed with these numbers.

@chelseasipodiscool They recorded it and applied to be part of the soundtrack but it didn't get accepted. It's new moon inspired. That's why it's different from the other songs on the album.
How come there's a 10 year anniversary vinyl edition of Tales Told By Dead Friends & Lesson In Romantics but not Anywhere But Here(never been pressed on vinyl) or thier self titled Mayday Parade(which has been pressed once & sells for $400+ which I'm not paying)????? All the others have multiple presses why not those 2??? This needs 2b fixed IMO.

I thought this was their best music video so far. I love their songs but the MVs are just not as good as they could be.
This album was okay. It was definitely their sophomore slump, but I can see where they were trying to get with some of their songs. All the guitars and drums were good. Derek just needed to strengthen his writing style. Now we have an awesome self-titled album from these guys :)! Don't get me wrong. I'm not insulting them. I really like their music. I'm glad they went through this slump because it really made them into something great! With or without Jason. Both bands are SICK!!!

He's constantly off-key and his timing sucks. He's guilty of using the autotune feature when they record in studio because his voice sounds flawless on the albums.
Mayday is one of my favorite bands, but I'm never seeing them live again.
To the poster who said that singers get excited when they play live: that's okay, as long as they still stay in tune and stay to their timing. Alex from ATL, Travis from WTK and dozens of other lead singer don't have the same problems that Derek has.
I actually have accidentally pressed the dislike button once. But seriously, it is very unlikely that 76 people did that on one video. Some people have different tastes, get over it. Why they're on this video just to dislike that? Nobody will know. But people are allowed to like different music than you.

wow really impressed by this song :) Hadnt really like this band much except for the song josie all over, and didnt know if their new singer would be good, but this is just my type of music. Hope the rest of the album is just as good

I don't know why Jason Lancaster wrote all the songs on A Lesson in Romantics, because Derek Sanders is a really good lyrcisist as well! I'm almost glad that, by Jason leaving, Derek got a chance to let his talent shine. :)

I think the girl is pretty but it's kinda like the "Stick Stickly" video for Attack Attack!. They just had some random girl in the middle of nowhere. I think they could've made a better video for this song.
