A sincere shoutout to all women in the name of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Rock And Roll! 👩🎤
centurymedia.lnk.to/MetalQueens
Women of Rock are the greatest including Maria Brink from ITM, Shirley Manson Garbage, Ann and Nancy Heart, i could go on and on thank you to women in Rock and roll
@@jamiejones9335 I concur. Maria Brink is our inspirational goddess. I used 2have a band but things happened n I had 2sell all my equipment. Even though im now 38, I'm ready 2get back at it. The artist is the irreplaceable part, n I never stopped writing lyrics and singing. My voice and artistry r better than ever and I'm eager 2get back at it. Its never too late everyone out there w/dreams!
An other cover you can not effort to miss, as they would have said on MTV
@@ladymeow1226 for some people IT IS TOO LATE!!!. it's hard for some people to start a new.
@@larrysledgejr1423 What the fuck is that Comment? Why say that? Are you feeling better trying to take someone elses hope because you don't have any left? Atleast don't try to be a total asshole about it, how about that? "It is too late for me" is a very desperate way of saying "I don't wanna try, complaining is more comfy." Grow a pair.

I'll be listening until I die
HELLO
🎉🎉🎉
14 years passed and if you are still listening to this, youre a legend.
2021
I can’t believe it’s been 14 years...!!!
I'm Legend
Great music never dies
Good thing I am a legend then.
I worked as a cook at a music club in Californiafrom around summer 2005 to November 2008. We had many bands come through but Lacuna was special for me. About 5 minutes before closin g the kitchen for the night, I was have my last cig for the night when the roadies started to bring the gear out. Also the whole band came out too and took one look at me in my cooks jacket and practically ran up to me. They started asking if I was the one who cooked the food they had before the show and I said yes. They got so excited telling me it was the best food they had ever gotten from a venue, which blew me away cause it was just 1 pasta dish, a couple of burgers and a few fish and chips and they are from Italy for gods sake. Then they asked me if they could get a photo with me! They were so down to earth and just really nice!
What a cool story bro. Thanks for sharing. That's exactly how I imagine them. 2005-2008 was epic metal wise.
@@Soulflytribe04 Seriously it was beyond epic! They really are so down to earth (at least then! Don't know about now)
Christina Scabbia has a very powerful voice. Metal needs more female singers like her.
tarja turunem , floor jansen e anette olzon
and additional to Joao Pedro Costa Souza (Nightwish-)list:
Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum and Dark Side Of The Moon)
Simone Simons (Epica)
Sharon Del Adel (Within Temptation)
Jennifer Haben (Beyond The Black)
Tatjana Shmailyuk (Jinjer)
Diana Leah (Delain)
Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy)
Elize Ryd (Amaranthe)
...
The names for FFM (female fronted metal) seems endlessly. I don't mean that in a bad way. We all should be so lucky, that the metal-scene does have so many of them. Each of this list is fantastic on it's own.
@@ghostcover947 definitely not Anette Olzon lol
@@stephanschoneberg3453Ambre Vourvahis (Xandria)
Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade)
@@swissfreaky Recently I heard a lot from Zora Cocks (Blackbriar) and Brittney Hayes (Slayes) (Unleash The Archers).
I'm just amazed how many names are available for picking up great female singers.
Her voice is so uniquely beautiful. Definitely stands the test of time!!!
2024 anyone??

Yes 🖤🫶🏻🖤
Sure🎉
Hell, yes!
Holy crap....17 years..I have loved this song for a long time....
Depeche Mode is the greatest band to come out of the 80s, so their music is special.
This cover is magnificent.
Facts
In my top 10 DM is in second place!
@@charlesxavier.. damn, so, what’s first for you
I often sat and wondered what happened to that 80s era DM sound, then listened to Alan Wilder's Recoil project. Got my answer. To be honest, nothing has grabbed me by them from Exciter onward outside of "Dream On" and that's just damn unfortunate because I loved their 80s catalog. I can't say greatest band of anyone from the 80s because EVERY genre had so much to offer in that era and it was fantastic.
I want to like this comment but the current total is 666. \m/
I'm from Italy and it's such a shame that a great band like them is almost unknown in its own country.
Grandi ragazzi!!🤟❤
Italians keep giving the world greatness. Grazie
Fantastici
America here and 8 have heard of them.
Almost unknown? In Ukraine almost every!!! rock-fan knows what is Lacuna Coil
@@dimonzloyukr9754 Unfortunately yes. In Italy they are only known amongs rockers and metalheads but speaking of general popularity they never achieved big success... the highest spot they reached in italian albums charts was 11 with Delirium only the first day, then disappeared. Cristina is a little bit more popular than Andrea or Marco but still sadly almost unknown
WOW What a Voice
Now 2024 I'm still listening to this and Still the best cover of this song I've ever heard..🔥
Breaking Benjamin did it better. This is still awesome
@@high_on_nightmares I'd have to agree to disagree - I think the Breaking Benjamin cover is good, but that the Lacuna Coil cover is better. Can't go wrong with either though.
Nothing touches the Depeche Mode original but, as someone who is not even a Lacuna Coil fan, this is undoubtedly the best cover of it out there, hands down.
I am old enough to remember the original and I thought it didn't sound dark enough myself. Obviously this will always be down to peronsal opinion, but I think that Lacuna Coil have gotten closer to the darkness I associate with the song.
Ozan Young What about Susan Boyle's cover ?
I've listened to a lot of covers. This one is rad
@@Dermacrosis As a child I was afraid of Depeche Modes Enjoy the Silence and I was startled when Shake the Disease was played... o.o"
Hyvä !
At 50 yrs old I'm still loving this music, never too old for great music
At 14 y o i'm still loving this, never too young for great music

Yep, 61 and still love Lacuna Coil
In less than a month, Cristina Scabbia will also be 50. Andrea’s got another year.
47 here. Amen to that.
2023 and I'm still in love with Christina. 2:56 her background vocals are HYPNOTIZING.
12 years has passed:
7 string guitars.
1080 screen quallity.
They were way ahead
Man I was 15 back then.
wow.
@MB No, they just updated the video
And 7 strings guitars existed way back before.
@@bloodcorer i was 5 and listened to the original song... this brings back in time so much
Anyone in 2020? 😊
Great cover, isn't it?
Still so young Christina and Andrea. Although even now they are far from old.
i think 2020 made everyone feel old.
also, her looks matche her voice, she beyond pretty ;P
Yeep
I feel like i was born a century ago, this year was so weird
Wish I could see them live again!
2:57 that melody backed by her mellifluous voice transcends this song to the heavens.
Huge fan of the original , and Laguna coil did an excellent cover of this song. Christina Scabbia is an amazing female vocalist. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Yeah bro she's amazing just like the girl from the band plastic heart
@@codossgames7115I agree 💯
Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Cant you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Enjoy the silence
That last part with Cristina singing at the top of her wonderful lungs almost made me cry lol especially with that beautiful setting, they are my second favorite band of all time and it’s not hard to figure out why
Edit i discovered this song when it came out in karmacode and I’m still wiping tears away till this day with my lame ass lol
Me too I cried too , I love her voice
Couldn't have said it better. Same, here. Christina is amazing!
Sometimes, a cover manages to reach the level of the original. This is one of those rare moments. Give yourself a pat on the back, Lacuna Coil, you certainly did good with this cover.
One of the greatest covers of all time. Perfect for this band.
Yeah
one of the greatest, but I guess the greatest is Linkin Park instrumental cover of the original song

My wife and I had the original played at our wedding in 1996. This is a great cover.
There is so much energy in this song. The song is sung with passion. That is true passion
As a Depeche Mode fan I have to say this cover is amazing. I love it!

So Rammstein did Stripped cover and Now this what next Master and Servant Cover?
She sings like an angel...I fall in love when I hear her voice.. 🤗❤
Christina Scabbia is an awesome singer!!
She is an angel. Nicest person you’ll ever meet. The entire band in fact.
I’m Italian, I love this band as one of the best of the world. This cover is simply fantastic, no more words.
That song is perfect and so is this cover. 2023 and still sounds fresh af.
She has a voice like an angel! Love. this version of the Depeche Mode song!
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer In your opinion which isn't the be all and end all
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer sorry forgot you are the oracle when it comes to music
@@markbeggs4894 😂😂 nice
honestly, gimme a break you both
It doesnt matter what anyone thinks. No need to fight like kids
The argument with "destroys" is surely offensive so it doesnt have any sense at all. So just let him think that music is like MMA... in his pathetic way of describing whos better and who.isnt
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer They are two entirely different vocal styles and aren't really comparable in any way.
If you enjoy them both, just enjoy them.
@Natty Bumppo and floor jansen sits at the top, untouchable by all.
The only cover of this song that I will ever acknowledge.
Agreed
Martin Gore said he appreciated this cover he wrote... Which means a lot
There's others?
Fox Mccloud Alot of other covers of this song, the ones I know of are: Failure, Ki Theory (Ghost in the Shell), Tori Amos, Vamps, Keane, Anberlin, The Matthew Good Band, believe it or not Susan Fucking Boyle, and obviously Depeche Mode are the original artist. I'm sure there's more, but like I said, those are the ones I'm aware of. Cheers Bru
This was my shit when I was maybe 13/14 years old. I'm 31 now. It's crazy how time flies because it feels like yesterday I watched this for the first time.
There have been a few heavy covers of _Enjoy The Silence,_ but the way this one handles the main riff/melody and Cristina's vocalizations during the outro, put this one over the top for me.
Almost unreal how underrated they are... that ending is just mindblowing
2020 going to 2021 and i still love this cover
Agreed!
So do I
Opah!
This cover I love more than original song
2021 is here now... and the cover is still the best
Her voice during the outro is what I'd imagine angels sounding like. Perfection.
Wow I really miss the style of videos and movies from the early 2000s. So nostalgic
Nice cover. I Just realized how much DM inspired artists of every music genre.
+grrizo A cover does not mean they are inspired by a particular artist or group..
*****
That's only happens when the artist want to make money and nothing else. I don't really know if is this the case.
grrizo
If that is the case are you saying Johnny Cash was inspired by NIN or that he was just a money grabber? Placebo where Kate Bush is concerned? Marc Almond and Marilyn Manson by Gloria Jones? Disturbed by Simon and Garfunkel, Genesis and U2?
*****
The only case of "I make this because my producer/manager told me to do so" is the one from Johnny Cash.
The rest, mostly were by inspiration.
Hard to belive, simply because the genres are very different, but it's true.
Check it out, the proof is on interviews.
An there's more.
Don't ask yourself that, Depech Mode it is one of the most amazing bands of its genre or maybe the best (I can not say the best bacause I don't know very well its genre), but they are one of the most fantastic bands of its genre.
Bands don't do covers to outdo the originals they do them to show respect to artists that influenced so them so constantly banging on about which is better is pointless.
so that's why they sounded like Abba? And messed up a killer song the best way to pay tribute to a song is outdo it, not butcher it, pissing the composer off!
mrromantimothy whether you personally like it or not has nothing to do with the band showing respect to the original artist. Missed my point completely. Also I don't remember the Abba song with heavy guitars.
+JoRdOguitarman1 those were heavy guitars?
mrromantimothy oh I just knew you would say that, fucking distorted guitars then. Either way you know exactly what I meant and can't answer the question.
+JoRdOguitarman1 dancing queen had heavier riffs, if you notice the original DM kept volume the vocals to a somber minimum ,these people play and sing so loud it's total disrespect, and wheres the percussion? It's been transformed into an irish pub drinking song.
I’m listening,today,now,in this moment ...
I'm 23, I heard this song when I was 13... I feel kinda old... But I'm still young... Rock music it's something I'll always appreciate.
Lost loves, failed projects, kindred spirits, starting things anew, things getting better, having your life on the correct track... All of that happened in 10 years... And I still love Cristina's voice like the first day...
@Jimb0 Same for me.
Don't feel old my friend I'm 46 & still clueless !!
23?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahah
fk off about old
@@Utubesuxmycock it's been 2 years since I wrote this tho. My health went to shit in two years, hahaha.
Hi There! I'm a big fan of Depeche Mode. This is a very good cover. It's nice to see that other bands enjoy existing music and can put a different spin on a song without losing the melody and theme. Enjoy the Silence!!!
Dennis Snyder There is another version of this song done by the German singer Oonagh (she sings it pretty good also)
And enjoy the music
Also breaking benjamin did an amazing cover as well
I have so much respect for people like you man, praising a cover of a song from a band you love is really rare to find. Other people would go on about "It's nothing like the original, it doesn't compare to the original etc." It's not supposed to compare to the original, putting a different spin to a song doesn't mean it's bad, that's talent.
Respect!
Thanx dudes! This tune Ms Scabbia covered UNFUCKING AWESOME
Fire cover of the original song. Still enjoying the heck out of this song in 2022
She's gorgeous
This video is 10 years in 2016. Unbelievable. Seems like ages passed.
And still rocks!
That means those cows you see in this vid, have been turned into hamburgers years ago.
I assure you.... that those of who know that is a Depeche Mode Cover song (excellently done by LC) feel much older...
I had the Depeche Mode "cassingle" if you know what that even means.
Garymother Freekincoleman cassette single, yeah, I remember. It was a long time ago...
HIM did a good cover too
This was my "MySpace song" 10 years ago. Still love it just as much as I did then.
actually, it's all over myspace. hohoho.

The Italian sports car of goth metal! Wow! The engine of harmony.
I was barely ten when this song came out and I have listened to the original song by Depeche Mode thousands of times over. This is why my love for rock, heavy metal, etc., has been growing more and more since I first got into listening to this style of music. God bless Lacuna Coil and may they continue making more badass music.
Forever my favourite cover of this song.
I was on a cruise ship a few years ago and I had horrible insomnia the whole time. It would be like 4 a.m. and I was up walking the decks of the ship. I happened to be up well in time to watch the sunrise out over the horizon in the Caribbean ocean when this song came on my playlist. Beautiful and amazingly open scenery, you couldn't see anything but water in any direction. I stood there propped against the railing completely by myself sipping on a hot cup of Earl Grey tea and looking around. The sky was these warm orange glowing colors fading into the dark blue of the ocean... that was a wonderful moment in my life. I just listened to this song as I watched the sun peek up over the water.
De película Lo tuyo👽
Wow. What a beautiful poem
Watched this a lot in college back in 2008. Got me through some shitty lonely times.
This is the first time I'm hearing this masterpiece.
Welcome!!
Just heard the first few seconds of this, and I’m in love with it.
It's a DEPECHE MODE song. Listen to them sing it.
@@kerrynoaro9065 I know. I’ve only heard the New Years Day rendition (which is really awesome btw), as well as some bits of the original. As for this version, it really feels like something I could listen to while doing my writing practices :D
And it was my first time hearing Lacuna
Best cover of anything ever
The nature scenes towards the end are simply beautiful
17 years has passed, and I am here again, like if I was with a Nokia device from Xpress Music serie, which supported a 2 gb memory card, a lot back then, and immersed into a sea of confusing emotion, while listening to this masterpiece, remade by Lacuna Coil. It's like the time was stopped, nothing has changed, thought it did, but not for the deepest of my mind...
Hell of a cover for an zbsolute legendary tune
I am so happy that I got to meet them when I was still a cook. They played where I was working but didn't play this song. After the show and just before I was off I was having a cig outside when they came out. They saw my chef jacket and we talked for a while. It was really cool!
Nathan Clarke your lucky
Such a 2000's video, I love it. Oh the sweet sweet time.
Randomly remembered this cover. It's kind of crazy how no one seems to know Lacuna Coil and havent seen anyone talk about them in a while
Still think that this is one of the best cover versions ever made!!
God I fucking love LC so much. Been a fan since I was 12. Almost 32 now. Thank you for being with me during some times I nearly didn't survive, but I did, partially with help from you and other amazing bands. I will never forget you. Grazie mille y vi amo tutti! Lunga vita a Lacuna Coil!
