I think giving Kanta fusion lamp is the best option and literal nobrainer. After this you always have a place there you can sell volatiles at insane price. Pure profit

I bribed Kanta 3 times, twice with cash and once with the drone replicator. Never crossed my mind she wants Lömp.
As a fellow Ody enjoyer: i put the autofire toggle for the autopulse lasers on one of the extra mouse buttons. This way i can quickly disable them so the charges are not wasted and i have maximum burst damage available for nailing down an overextended ship or a carrier. Double typhoon on left mouse button for max carnage.

Man that ending was awesome. Moded starsector experience in a nutshel, feeling good then suddenly some bullshit 1shots you while teleporting to the other side of the battlefield.
That Omega hyperion is such a little bastard to fight, and it's EXTREMELY fun to pilot.
god damn, what a boss fight. Knights of Ludd is sucn a good mod. my favourite part is how good it is.
Oh I recommend the nights of Ludd capital ship the one with the orion drive as a another ramming ship. It even has ablative Armour.

KoL Dev here: You probably could have beaten Ninaya, but got unlucky as Ninaya teleported next to you right before it died from your fire, nuking your Odyssey with its stage 1 death explosion. For stage 2 it spawn 2 normal hyperions, like you saw!
For this boss chain, I would recommend heavy anti phase ships. Beams, fighters, heavy burst, 360 shields, quantum distuptor, ect
Dev thoughts:
Ninaya is an odd case in balancing. For the Tri Tachyon questline of Ninaya, and the mission chain that spawn from it, the ships were meant to be an exercise of experimenting with how good the Hyperion or phase ships would be with "human level" AI. Because of this, it uses its phase teleporter to go behind enemies, run away, and generally be a pretty big nuisance. As a result, this line of missions is mostly about how to counter specific ships instead of a general "fleet strength" check. Is this fun experience? I'm not sure. To cut down on the annoyance, the map is much smaller than normal and the ninaya is coded to get more suicidal over time (teleporting into your fleet more, and staying engaged at higher and higher hardflux levels) but its probably not enough. I've now mostly concluded that the hyperion and phase ships just don't make good boss battles when they have good AI.
PS: what version of KoL are you on? it seems that you might be on v1.2.x still. v1.3.x has many improvements, but I understand if this is an old save file.
I like the idea behind it. More specialized enemies that have clear strengths and weaknesses could make for some very memorable fights, but it can also cause problems when going in blind like I did here. It would probably be a good idea to have enemies like this only show up after starting a quest, and have the quest-giver provide a paragraph explaining the type of threat you're going to face (hit and run tactics, high mobility, teleporters, strong shields, fragile hull and armor). That way if you get toasted it's a lot less annoying because you knew what to expect.
As for the version I'm on... it's 1.1. Can I upgrade to version 1.3 or are there compatibility issues?

Knights of Ludd bosses are not to be trifled with, you just met the most annoying (not the most dangerous) one.
I'm guessing the most dangerous one is

Knights of Ludd bossfights are annoying.
Options to make them less annoying:
- fleet with 360 shields and a lot of beams
- lots of fighters
Silkie makes nice sprites, but is terrible at game design. (Both Iron Shell and Knights of Ludd suffer from this)
RAT has a balanced bossfight.
Havent fought HMI bosses yet.
And that's just the first KoL boss. The others are bigger and more weaboo than this.
Most of the modded boss fights are really poorly balanced.
